can anyone remember why Manninager was sold I think he could have been a good keeper for Arsenal he is still playing well in Germany

Didn't want to be a no2 as far as I remember

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard he refused to play in a league cup match on his good run whilst Seaman was injured. Wenger won't tolerate that sort of thing.

If I remember correctly, didn't he ( and a few others ) get destroyed in a cup game where we played our reserves and never quite looked the same afterwards?
Wasnt it against man utd?

Manninger kept being dropped to the bench (Seaman. goes without saying) when he was putting in really good performances. He had enough of it, and left. Very similar circumanstance to jenkinson this season, who despite being arguably the best player for arsenal, got dropped the second an older more experienced player came back.

We got mullered by Chelsea, he was never the same keeper

Agree0 Disagree0

He got a run in the team and was doing great, then he just totally lost his form, then he seemed to loose it mentally, constantly fidgetting with his socks and so on, a bit like a nervous tick or somthing, the pressure seemed to much for the poor lad.

Lots of talk about Wanyama, unfortunately I think we missed the boat there, we could have signed him last summer but now it seems that Man United have made him a firm target and as we know if they really want him they will pay over the odds.

Sorry guys, just think there is a long time until the next transfer window and a lot will happen between now and then. {Ed002's Note - I would not write Wanyama off. Whilst a summer move to Arsenal failed to materialise and QPR had interest and had an offer rejected. Both Manchester United and Arsenal remain interested in Wanyama but were reluctant to pay the sort of figure Celtic were looking for in January. Given that Begiristain has hinted that Manchester City are considering making a bid for the player as well, one or both might look to try and tempt Celtic to sell in the summer and of the three clubs I would say that Manchjester United is the least likely destination as they are pushing elsewhere with their interest.}

There is only one certainty here. Arsenal will get the player that man city or Manchester United don't want.

Wanyama has stated that he is a Utd fan and would love to play there. If bids are close - that's where he'll go. Can't see us out bidding Utd and offering a better package to land him. {Ed007's Note - That is if Utd even make a bid, they have identified another CM player as their priority.}

Ed 007 - I assume you mean Utd are after Strootman. Do you think Wanyama would spurn City, if he's a Utd fan? {Ed007's Note - I don't really think it will come down to who he supports. I have said since the summer I expect Wanyama to be an Arsenal player and unless Utd renew their interest or there are crazy money bids from elsewhere I still think he will be. A lot can happen between now and the summer though.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Who would be that Ed? Strootman? {Ed001's Note - yes.}
