Kevin Mirallas deal to be sorted out next week. Transfers take a long time to sort out, but this one should be quicker because Mirallas has a buy-out clause in his contract. This means that Arsenal will offer just below the £6.2m Olympiakos want, and will instead offer around £5.5m plus Squillaci, which should be accepted.

Expect the deal to go through sometime in the next 7 days, but don't expect the deal to be confirmed until next week, and at least after the Sunderland game at the weekend.

Believable29 Unbelievable72

They call him the belgium CR7

Agree0 Disagree0

I have no idea where people hear all this rubbish. Mirallas is having a medical at Everton so this definite move to Arsenal seems all a bit false to me. We need reinforcements up top agreed but we have 2 class strikers in Podolski and , why not try Walcott through the middle develop him like Henry. If the song deal does take place u hope Wenget has a replacement already lined up! Any way get off this Mirallas train as its not stopping at Arsenal

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently the buy out clause in his contract expired at the end of July, so unless we agreed a fee/deal with them prior to this I doubt we will get him that cheap! He is a very prolific striker for them

Agree0 Disagree0

He is joining everton

Agree0 Disagree0

He is going to EVERTON!!

Well, we're apparently interested in Mirallas and Olympiakos are apparently interested in Squillaci. Well done for putting the two together.

Breaking news Kevin mirallas has accepted terms with arsenal football club. All that is left is the two clubs to aggree the fee with arsenal looking around 6m but the other party holding for 8.2m.

My brother lives and works out there and watched most of there home games last season and said this guy should be 20 mil plus and that he is a class player hope he comes

Agree0 Disagree1

Strange signing if true, average player when in french league. Similar to podolski, central striker played wide. Hes still young and could improve but really not Ă  stand out talent
Brendan(utd fan with major interest in euro football. No intetest in winding up arsenal fans)

Agree0 Disagree1

Who? really?

Ash

Agree0 Disagree0

Unknown player but will be good bench warmer im sure

Agree0 Disagree0

KM was called 'le Ronaldo du pauvre' (Ronaldo of the poor man) during his formation years spent at Lille. He played with Eden Hazard during this time. He was always labelled the next big thing, but his improvement stalled for a few years, now he got going again and seems to be fulfilling his youthful promise. So he is quite a talent. Intersting to know that Arsenal wanted to sign him as a 16 year old, but Lille beat us to him at the time...Petely

Agree1 Disagree0

Quite clearly "Rubbish", going to sign for everton....

Kevin Mirallas has scored 34 goals in 52 appearances for Olympiacos. I know its a weak league, but thats a decent strike rate. 5 million plus Squid sounds like a great deal if it can happen. Plus it should send Chamakh to the reserves, or even better he will realise he should take a pay cut and leave

Believable41 Unbelievable20

My impression was he was better than Hazard when he played for Belgium in the friendly against England right before the Euros.

Agree1 Disagree0

As a replacement for Rvp I'd rather not llorente or hulk would be my preferred choices

Agree0 Disagree0

Mirallas did score hardly any goals in France, Chamakh managed 57 goals in France (although it did take 230 appearances)

Agree0 Disagree0

Marillas got 3 goals in over 50 appearences in France. This guy is not good enough for Arsenal hence the reason he is joing Everton
Chess

Agree0 Disagree0

Replacement for RVP he isn't but if we get him for like 6 million and manage to offload squillaci to them in the process I will rate this as another superb transfer move. He is quality mirallas with room for improvement as well. He's just not out and out striker

Caught offside are reporting Utd have agreed a £22mil deal for RVP? Any truth in this?

R.O.B

Believable40 Unbelievable56

If it's Caught Offside it'll be the first time !

Agree0 Disagree0

This is all over Twitter at the moment:

Wenger agrees to RVP sale: Arsenal will reluctantly sell Robin van Persie to Manchester United for £22million

I hope it is not true as I would of made him stay and see out his contract especially as he has been injured for most of his time with us and why sell to only to make Man UTD stronger.

Agree1 Disagree0

RVP to man u is a done deal which was finalised on sunday but being played out in the press. Source: Ex Man u pro in the 1980s who still works in football and knows a number of agents.

Agree1 Disagree1

It's from caughtofside.com! That says it all #rubbish

Agree0 Disagree1

Caught offside make it up as they go along !

Agree0 Disagree0

Never trust anything off caught offside, only believe things when they're officially posted on the arsenal website

Agree0 Disagree0

I strongly believe RVP wont be sold to get "money" as he was solely responsible for getting us £30 mil.

He would only be sold if he is unhappy / unprofessional and breeds negative energy which we believe is not true.

My money is on RVP seeing his contract through.

Wenger surely knows how to tell "who the boss is".

Agree0 Disagree1

Caught offside ha ha ha.no

Agree0 Disagree0

If caught offside report it then its definitely not true. good news for RVP fans! (for the record i am hoping he stays too)

Oleg Maputo

Agree0 Disagree1

Why would we keep him and get nothing in 12months? its just not good business is it....rvp is as good as gone, question is where.

He will stay at arsenal until january .... no source, gut feeling

If he has any loyalty left he will go to a club outside england

A relative of mine works for a certain Law firm who handle Arsenals contracts. I am been informed that Robin van Persie has agreed to sign a one year extension with Arsenal Football Club for £150,000 per week. The Contract also includes an option to extend the deal by a further two years at the end of next season. I am informed that If Arsenal fail to win a trophy again this season, there is a gentleman's agreement with Wenger that RvP will be allowed to leave next summer.

This is an excellent arrangement for both parties. We keep our best player for at least one more season. If we can match his ambitions (titles) over the season, he will stay. With the new additions, we arguably have the best chance of obtaining silverware in a number of years. Should we fail to win anything, we are in the same position as we are in now in that he will have a year left on his contract and will still be able to sell him for a sizable transfer fee.

Keep the faith.

Matty10

Believable52 Unbelievable76

Errrrmmm, why would he sign an extension? His contract runs for another season anyway!

Agree2 Disagree0

Is this genuine or jus made up? wud be the thing agreement for both parties

deal gooner

Agree1 Disagree0

Nice arrangement in theory, doubt it will happen though. My money would be on United for about 18 million

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope you're right matty...? if there is a u turn with rvp I think it will be quickly forgiving and forgotten... not too much damage tbh - hope this isn't bs though, not fair on fans to make crap up like this, but all credit/kudos if true!

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love this to be true.

Agree0 Disagree0

Except that next summer he will be 30 yrs old and his valuation will have dropped significantly.

Agree0 Disagree0

If this is true, which it could be, it would show that RVP is true to his word and it's not about money, it's about ambition.

Agree0 Disagree0

I really hope thats true, that defo would be the best arrangement for all concerned

Agree0 Disagree0

Really people r believing this? Every week someone comes on these rumour pages and states they have a friend or family member who works in a law firm and just gives out confidential info. Lol its all lies.

Agree1 Disagree0

If anybody from a 'certain Law firm' gave away confidential info to anyone, let alone to someone that posts on THIS site, they would get sacked on the spot. This post is about as real as Rooney's hair!!

Agree1 Disagree0

RvP's gripe with the club was regarding the policies and strategies, assuming he was referring to wages and buying world class players, then maybe we have addressed 1 out of 2 of those requests, but to say if we don't win a trophy is obsurd, even if we could buy the very best and pay them wages on par with City, there is no guarantee we will win something next season. Love it to be true but complete BS I am afraid.

Gooner74

Agree1 Disagree0

Not according to the post above lol

Agree0 Disagree0

My cousin works in a law firm nothing football related but he tells me all sort of rubbishe all the time ( confidential or not)! so i would nt say its unbelievable for that purpose! but it would be the best situation i think for both rvp and arsenal.......
rick dallas

Agree0 Disagree0

This fixation with titles defeats me. With perhaps three of the five richest clubs in Europe all in England how can any team guarantee any trophy. With 3 cups which can depend to a great extent on the vagaries of a random draw in the latter stages, no team in England can guarantee winning any trophy.

Agree1 Disagree0

Why would he sign an extension, when he has another year to run anyway.Sounds a bit jackanory to me.

Agree1 Disagree0

VP wont sign an extension mate, unless its a long term one, makes no business sense for him and for arsenal, its either stay and pledge your twilight years to us, or leave , thats it in a nutshell, its actually getting really boring with him, i dont agree with keeping him and losing him for nothing no point, i would give him an ultimatum, 150k p/w + 5 million sign on fee (that he was offered) for a new 4 year contract or ur transfer listed and the price is 20 million, despite us no winning anything since 2005 we are still 1 of the biggest clubs in england and in europe, with a fantastic financial set up , great stadium and a great support and 1 of europes best managers, we will win again soon. If van persie feels he can do better then fair play good luck to you son!

Agree0 Disagree0

Deal done with utd already expect van persie to undergo medical Thursday !!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't believe there's any truth in this rumour but I do find it funny that some people don't seem to know what the word 'extension' means.

Stezza.

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal have their own lawyers, they don't do it through a law firm you muppets

Agree0 Disagree0

I have also heard this one year extension stuff before. It would be a great deal for BOTH parties.

I actually cant believe some of you and your posts and how this 1 year extension makes 'no business sense'. RvP has a contract which expires in June2013. As per the above, he signs a one year extension, therefore he has a contract until June 2014. Therefore meaning should he decide to leave next summer, he would be in the exact same position as he is in now, one year left to run. It makes perfect business sense for both parties. Arsenal are assured that they can still get a sizable fee for him as he will still have a year to run on his contract, while RvP gets the increase he deserves in the short term with an option to extend the deal or go elsewhere for more cash. Best part about it is we get to keep him for another year.

All this talk of confirmed to United is BS by the way. Its all tabloid thrash.

DG

Agree1 Disagree0

Arsenal did appoint an in house lawyer a couple of years ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal generally use Slaughter and May. In any business In- House Lawyers generally only prepare the 'breifing documents' for external lawyers to do the actual work

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm an in-house lawyer and we do rather more than that thank you very much! I do think something a bit weird is going on re the RVP situation - a stay with a new 'deal' of some sort isn't out of the question methinks...

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd like this to be true but dont believe anything until its on the Arsenal website. hope he does stay between the new signings and him staying fit and smashing in enough goals we have a decent chance of winning the Prem.

Rob

Agree0 Disagree0

You'll all see in the coming days

Mirallas told Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad. "My agent is having talks with Arsenal, those rumours are true.

"Only Olympiakos is in the way. They want €8 million [£6m] and not a penny less. But if the move doesn't come through, I am happy to stay in Athens."

Agree0 Disagree0

Shut up

Agree0 Disagree0

This is my first post on here. Usually I just browse the rumours and take them all with a pinch of salt. The above post is just complete rubbish, there is no such thing on SSN and I dont understand why you would post and quote a source if in is clearly made up!

Agree0 Disagree0

Really? Not on their website. I feel like this "could" have been a ploy on rvp's behalf. He says he's gonna leave. Put the rubbishs up the board to release the funds to sign, in my opinion some top signings. And at least give AFC more of a fighting chance. Rvp loves this club, and don't think for one minute he hasn't spoken to the legends for advice who love the club equally if not more. And the plight of those who leave arsenal for pastures green. With the exception of maybe cashley and anelka, others really haven't fullfilled their potential at other clubs. I hope its true cos the man is an arsenal legend and can only further cement that status if he stays.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant find that on sky sports, are you talk bs?

Rob

Looks like Sahin is having talks with Liverpool this week.
His team mate Alonso has told him how good it is at Anfield.
Source:SSN:Guillem Balague

Believable31 Unbelievable42

Don't need him, midfield is conjested as it is. Arteta, Song, Diaby, Coquelin, Ramsey, Wilshere, Frimpong all going for 2 positions.

Gilo

Agree1 Disagree0

He wants champions league football something liverpool will not have for a long time!
Why would he want to play thursday night football, liverpool are way off the top 4 now and under rogers buying ex swansea players they will be lucky to finish above everton this year!

The MasterLee

Agree1 Disagree0

I think that seeing as we can offer champions league football and give him the chance to link up with his mentor (Rosicky) again, we will be in the driving seat in this deal - if he goes to Liverpool, I can only assume we did not want him enough.

With us already having Ramsey, Arteta, Ox, Diaby, Santi, Song, Coq plus Wilshere and Fringpong to return in a few months I do not think he is a massive priority.

Saying that, Liverpool already have quite a few cm themselves.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he signs for them hes mad. there no where near being a top4 club. psg shud really try get him ideal for them

Agree0 Disagree0

Sahin is a quality player wud love to have him also tello hope he dont go to liverpool hes already better than walcott

Agree0 Disagree0

People say we dont need him but we do if we want to fight on all fronts, we want a clause aswell to buy at the end of the loan which would be unreal.

already better than ramsey, frimpong wont be at arsenal long, arteta cant play every game, diaby wont be available all season, jack wont be back to jan probably.

Agree1 Disagree0

His team mate is living in a dream world! 5th placwe this season if they are lucky. Where would he rather go? my thoughts would be for a move to us...

Agree0 Disagree0

'Don't need him, midfield is conjested as it is. Arteta, Song, Diaby, Coquelin, Ramsey, Wilshere, Frimpong all going for 2 positions.

Gilo'
diaby - likes injuries, a lot
wilshere - massively injured
frimpong - massively injured and untested
arteta - currently injured
ramsey - lack of form
rosicky - currently injured/like injuries
song - superb
coquelin - decent prospect

of course we need sahin or even better m'vila, midfield is much shorter on dm/holding midfielders than attackers at the best of times which is hardly never as our central midfield stock is always getting depleted

Agree0 Disagree0

Let us be honest though that we know we arn't going to have Diaby, or Arteta, or Wilshere for a good part of the season. Arteta needs rest throughout the season as he's on older legs, Diaby is Diaby, and who knows the state of Wilshere atm.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lucas allen
gerard sahin suarez
dempsey borini
, i wouldnt be worried about arsenal at all, rvp goin aswell, ur a selling club
5 gold stars, 5

Agree0 Disagree0

Where would arsenal have been last season if it wasn't for rvp, and where would Liverpool of been if we hadn't hit the post 38 times? Stop kidding yourselves lads you are not really in a much better position to take a top four place than us. We have had a few more trophies than you the last seven years too may I add.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are there so many scousers on this site. Have Liverpool not got a rumour site. I know the increase in vehicle security has left you all with a bit of time on your hands but surely there are better things to do like remembering when you used to cut it with the big boys before you were overtaken by Man Citeh, United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spuds and even Everton.

Exo

Agree1 Disagree0

Lets be honest, players know if they can stand a 2 year stint at Arsenal, play well, they can then get a transfere to a big club, and then win trophy's. You all keep harping on about champions league football but what is the point of you being in it?, you never have or never will win it, but hey as long as you keep raking in the cash for the shareholders you lot are happy!

The best striker in Europe at the moment is Radamel Falcao from Atletico Madrid. That wuould be a fantastic replacement for RVP.

Ed, do you know anything about him? Will he be for sell? for how much?

Regards, {Ed002's Note - Falcao is "not for sale" but a significant offer could change that. He will not be moving to Arsenal this summer.}

Believable19 Unbelievable30

Ideal Rvp replacements if big money was to be spend any of these 3 could hit 30 a season. All technically gifted players with goals to match.
1.llorente
2.falcao
3.hulk

Atletico bought him for 40 million euros mate, possibly raising to 47. I agree he is the best striker in europe atm but we ain't got that kind of money.

Agree0 Disagree0

Radamel Falcao is the best finisher iv seen the guys an epic finisher. deserves to be a champions league club

We WILL have that kind of money if we sell RVP.

StEvE

Agree1 Disagree0

Realistic targets to replace RVP. Even tho I think Wenger already signed his replacement in Giroud, but its unproven if he can play as the lone striker in our formation. Could chnage to 4-4-2?

1. Llorente (A. Madrid)
2. Lewandowski (Dortmund)
3. Negredo (Savilla)

Kevin Mirallas has confirmed talks with arsenal so he is probably the man for wenger as he can play anywhere across the front three or is this arshavins replacement?

Agree0 Disagree0

OK Steve. We may will. What I meant though we will never spend that much on one player. Remeber, our record transfer is around 20 milion euro

according to most of the rags rvp is going to man u for 22mil by the end of the week! even saf and wenger met privately! would love to be a fly on the wall for that meeting IF it happened? EDS any idea if this is true or media bs although it would be a good price that could and would be re invested in good players!
cheers
paul {Ed002's Note - Putting aside the price, there is no doubt a good chance he will move.}

Believable15 Unbelievable21

I am certain Wenger was fully aware that Van Persie was departing, hence the signings of Giroud & Podolski. The delay has been in order to obtain as high a price as possible. In effect the sale of Van Persie will cover the cost of Giroud & Podolski. The cost of Cazorla will be covered by the sale of Vela & the likely sales of Bendtner, Chamakh, Park, Mannone, Squilacci & Arshavin.

Believable17 Unbelievable6

Thanks Ed002.
The fact that RVP is even considering Man Utd as an option is wrong in so many ways. He understands the rivalry more than most, and any approach from MU should have been dismissed immediately. The fact that it wasn't sickens me. RVP should go. We don't need a Judas like him around our club.

Looking likely that Wenger is going to offload RVP to United after all for 18million plus Dimitar Berbatov! In my opinion, that is the best deal we can get! And with the 18million he looks set to splash it out on Llorente. Wenger, if this rumours to be true, I take my hat off to you. Berbatov, Giroud, Podolski and Llorente over RVP any day!

Furthermore, looking to get in a young centre back, I've heard our scouts are out in Brazil!
