Is Arsenal interested in buying back Carlos Vela? Thanks

Believable19 Unbelievable11

{Ed025's Note - no mate..

Ed025, How can you say "no" so easily despite the situation with Vela. He has an estimated £3.5 million buy-back clause with Arsenal (fact), and has had a tremendous season by his own right, increasing his market valuation to up to 15 million with speculative interest from several parties.

So would it not be crazy for Arsenal NOT to buy him back, even if it was just to sell him on for the profit? I just can't understand your logic. =s

Agree1 Disagree3

{Ed002's Note - That, of course, is not how it works.}

All Vela has to do is say no to Arsenal and move to one of the clubs that offers more money. JUst having a release clause does not mean the player has to accept terms.

Hilarious post Tiger. You seem to have made the classic error of mistaking the Football Manager PC game for real life.

Agree1 Disagree0

3.5m for him and say 2mil a year on wages then when we try selling him on he refuses to leave and were stuck with him for 3or4 years will it still be considered good business then tiger? Just cause we can sign him doesn't mean we should!

Agree0 Disagree0

Paper talk has him saying he'd be ok to come back. Maybe we can use the clause as a way fo convincing them to sell us Greizmann instead, so they can cash in on Vela.

Ed,

If one of our centre backs were to leave (Vermaelen), would we look to replace him and if so, who with?

Thanks!

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed025's Note - definitely G95, who would replace him would be a guess mate..maybe bruno martins indi mate..

BMI is rumored to be going to UTD

which is a shame, I think he's good enough for a starting place in most prem teams, and could be a natural understudy to Mert, however I think he needs guaranteed staring 11 football

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, is the interest in Kouyate real, or media fabrication?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal remain interested in Kouyate after following the player last summer. Southampton were previously interested but went for Lovren. His agent says that West Ham and Galatasaray are also interested.}

Hi Ed any interest in rakitic of Sevilla? Has been linked with a move away from Sevilla?

Believable2 Unbelievable4

{Ed007's Note - Chelsea are trying to strike a deal for Rakitic.}

Thanks for responding to my earlier post, ed002. I should've been more clear, as I was asking about Cavani and Javi Martinez. Although, I think Jackson would be a decent signing. So, on Javi Martinez and Cavani, more chance of Elvis being found alive in Scotland, and doing a comeback duet with Freddie Mercury, than Arsenal making any kind of move for either, right?

Believable9 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath over either but Arsenal have an interest in JM but I can see a deal being made.}

You mean "cant" see a deal being made or "can" see a deal being

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Can't see a deal being made.}

Eds, please end my faint hopes and put me out of my misery! Arsenal have not made any enquiry for either Cavani or Martinez, correct? We have absolutely zero chance of moving for, let alone landing either, correct?

Believable3 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in Jackson Martinez from Arsenal.}

Well the good news is that Wenger is still looking for a striker who is better than giroud, I thought he would end that, considering he wanted suarez and bought ozil, guess he just wanted the best player on his team in his words "quality"

if we can land Martinez or Benzema it would be a huge boost going forward.

but I really do hope we get one of di maria or sanchez as well. they would add soo much more to our team.

not sure if they will have work permit issues in the UK, that's for the Ed to clarify, as they know quite a bit.

Agree0 Disagree0

Then the question has to be asked, why didn't we sign him in January?! Cause he was cup tied? He'd have played as many UCL games for us as no signing. Cause he may've cost more in January? Really? A couple of million is more important than a chance at the title, a realistic goal for us in January. I'd actually be annoyed if we did sign Martinez, knowing we could/should have signed him in January!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well i'm quite sure he is not our first choice, and the interest is there but probably not for the price being asked.

so it will go down to our first choice of Benzema not being available or if he heads of to PSG, which means cavani has to move on.

in the mean time if napoli actually go thru with their bid for martinez then he will be off, I expect him to join napoli, as the transfer rumour has been going on for nearly a year.

but I guess it depends on napoli selling Callejon, and if interest from chelsea is legit, then they maybe able to pursue martinez.

i expect the striker merrygoround to be the one that goes to the last day of the window, with many big names possibly on the move.

besides Diego Costa who will move to chelsea I do not think any others have any deals or inquiries made, just news at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

You'll be annoyed if we did sign Martinez. Hey we could've signed ronaldo 10 years ago or whatever it was before he went united. i'd be annoyed of we signed him tomorrow :p.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair call, D16. And I'd sure love to land him over nothing. But surely, you see the point I'm making, he was available in January, we needed a striker in January, when we were top of the table.

Agree0 Disagree0

I do see your point. I was only joking around. Was he really available then? Who knows. I do wonder with our board sometimes. Or it could be arsene. Just seem a bit slow In the market at times.
