A mate of mine has heard from people close to the club that there is a lot of substance in the Taiwo rumours but whether he will move is a different question.

Believable3 Unbelievable12

But is the being pushed by the player or Arsenal?

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol a mate of my mother's father who in fact has a huge stake in the club actually said this as well...

And as much as I might sound like I'm taking the p!$$ I'm not. It just sounds BS when you make those kind of claims [my mums friends, babysitters, cats owner etc]

Agree0 Disagree0

The main reason it sounds bs is because you don't refer to this source as your grandfather... ;)

Ed - Is there any substance to the Taiwo rumours? {Ed001's Note - there does seem to be, though I am not sure if it is the player (or his agent) trying to get him a move (or pay rise) or whether it is Arsenal trying to sign him.}

Believable4 Unbelievable9

I sense this is just media picking up on the fact that he is unhappy at milan. Would make for a good loan signing although I think he would probably be off to the ACN.

What is the Van Der Viel situation with Valencia? {Ed001's Note - as far as I know there have been no new developments yet, he has to discuss terms and sign now the fee is agreed.}

Agree0 Disagree0

The fee is agreed with arsenal ??

Agree0 Disagree0

Valencia.... I thought the transfer bid was too low? {Ed001's Note - I thought they had agreed a fee? I will have to check, I might have got it wrong, it has happened, my memory is not what it used to be!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal just drew vs Milan in CL. no way they loan Taiwo to us now and strengthen a rival.

Ed - I am hearing that Arsenal now have strong interest in Matias Suarez of Anderletcht. It seems Podolski is a bit out of our price range...

Any thoughts on this? {Ed001's Note - I don't believe Podolski is out of the price range, but every club always looks at other options just in case anyway.}

Believable8 Unbelievable4

Ed What Is The Podolski Situation Saying At The Moment {Ed001's Note - that Arsenal are still very much in the running and very much towards the front of the pack to sign him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said ed

Agree0 Disagree0

I read somewhere that the transfer fee is not the stumbling block, but that Podolski has very high wage demands.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed that Wenger will look at multiple options. He surely has shortlists like everyone else, but who would be one it?

1. Podolski
2. Doumbia
3. Saurez

Are there any other real targets that are out there? I don;t see Pato, higauin as realistic...

Agree0 Disagree0

Pato Is Not Coming Fact, He Is Dating The Owners Daughter

Agree0 Disagree0

We had scouts watching Suarez last night. He and Pod are top of list atm

I think Reus is still a genuine consideration, as well as one or two french league players too. Just from what's been said here and there I think we have our eyes on about 5 players if not more, strikers...
Raz {Ed002's Note - Reus has been playing well and has a growing reputation - enough to alert Bayern Munich - always thought to be his likely destination at some point. Bayern have been interested since the early summer although certain influential factions do not see a need for Reus at this time. Additionally Juventus, Manchester City, Arsenal and even his old club Dortmund have shown an interest in Reus, but a move in January seems pretty unlikely unless a significant bid acceptable to Gladbach is made. Chelsea had two people attend the Cologne match to specifically watch him perform and they may be considering a bid.}

Hi Ed,

So it seems that Arsenal are definitely focused on a Striker. The other clubs looking for one are? (Chelsea - Higuain, AC Milan - Tevez, Juve, Barca?) {Ed001's Note - Chelsea were offered Higuain, both them and Real Madrid are eyeing up Cavani, hence the offer of Higuain.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed!! That is interesting! I wonder in Barcelona have the cash to get in the mix for Cavani as well... Given the villa situation.

I hope we do not send miyaichi out on loan in january as gervinho is going to the african cup and it will just leave us with arshavin as our only left winger.

Believable30 Unbelievable2

We will sign a new winger/foreward then e.g podolski

Agree0 Disagree0

If we have no intentions of buying someone who can play there then I think we will see Benayoun or even The Ox play there is Ryo does go.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope he buys a winger/striker and offload Arshavin who has been poor for more than two seasons. Arshavin seems to unbalance the side when he starts.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but what a ridiculous comment about Arshavin. Last season he had the fifth best striker's record, playing from the midfield. His achieved more than players like Nani. The season before, he was outstanding. Only since the end of last season has he been pants.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to dissagree with the above post sticking up for Arshavin. This is one of those examples where stats don't tell the story. The other chap was correct in pointing out how much he unbalances the team. His effort and quality on the ball are completely random on the pitch. He seems to be playing with his head else where, and i can only assume he gets his chance on the pitch playing like that because he trains well or something. Benayoun is playing so much better, but probably doesn't have the pace or direct game to play on the wing. Really hoping Wenger gets somebody in to cover this spot. Here's hoping for a stunner in the window! Ned.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ned, I agree he is pants now and should be sold. Last season and the one before he wasn't pants though and it's annoying that people say he was. He was, as Wenger calls him, a high risk player last season. his job was the same as Cesc's and he had more chance of losing the ball because of this. What nobody expected though was his utter dire efforts this season!

i dont think rosicky will go anywere wenger already said he wont be sold.

Believable14 Unbelievable15

This is what every manager says though. Wolfsburg seem keen and Rosicky may decide he doesn't want to be a bench player any more.
Raz {Ed002's Note - The player's situation at Wolfsburg is dire under Magath and his regime and it is going to be tough for them to persuade players to move their. So it may not be a much better option than the bench.}

Agree0 Disagree0

As he did with alot of other footballers, he is trying to haggle the highest fee..

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed that's interesting I didn't know that. What's the problem there? Is Magath the manager?
Raz {Ed002's Note - Magath has been there about 9 months. In that time he has criticised players in public, had two very public falling outs with Diego, fined players 8k euros for showing up late to training ....}

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsene wenger is hardly going to come out and say ' we selling Rosicky'

When it comes to transfers he always coy.

Agree0 Disagree0

He declared that Rosicky has a "Bright future" at the club and believes in him.

VERY Different from "being coy" about the situation.

=Miss Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Said he won't sell henry,fabregas,nasri etc and ............

I've been hearing a lot of rumors about Arsenal showing interest in Internacional's Leandro Dimiao. Juventus and Liverpool have also shown interest apparently. Looking at something in the region of £18 million.

I know its in the Liga do Brazil but his goalscoring record is outstanding with 31 goals in 41 games. He looks pretty impressive and i would not mind seeing him as cover for RVP.

Ed, heard anything on this rumor?

JerseyGooner {Ed002's Note - As if by magic. Leandro Damiao seems to be of interest to several clubs at the moment not least AC Milan who want him to replace Cassano but need to free up a non EU quota spot to buy him. Spurs and Arsenal have apparently have taken a look recently as have Porto and PSG. His agent is talking up offers but that will probably not be anything to do with transfer fees, just possible wages. Over the summer there was also interest from Juve, Roma, Lyon, Sporting Lisbon and Barcelona have shown some interest in the past two months. Juventus may push for a January transfer but I don't see him moving before perhaps January 2013.}

Believable8 Unbelievable8

Ed, after watching a compilation of what Dimiao can do.... you've made me a very unhappy man.... {Ed002's Note - Well there is still time for things to change. But I rather fear any thought of £18M may be rather wide of teh mark as well.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well they're the numbers going round at the moment, the last link I've heard claims that Juve are setting up an £18mil bid for January. Which is a bloody steal!! Leave it another year and more clubs' interest will grow and we'll be looking at another +£35 million player we won't get....
Jersey Gooner {Ed002's Note - As I say, Juventus are the one club who may make a concerted effort in January, but I suspect he won't move and certainly not for such a price.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs made a 12 million-ish bid in the summer but it was turned down
