Theo walcott expected to sign a long term contract on friday

Believable19 Unbelievable40

That is unexpected as why would he want to bind himself to a team who havent won anything in 8 years and who have lost all their good players, use common sense!

Agree0 Disagree6

Who would you rather be?

Liverpool - 1 CL title, 1 CL final, 1 Carling Cup Title - languishing in the duldrums

Tottenham - 1 Carling Cup Title

Arsenal - Zero Titles - never placed out of the top 4 and each season made the knock out rounds of the CL. One champions league final

I would pick Arsenal (like the flashy new stadium as well).

And really who would want to buy Theo? I mean Liverpool is a downgrade, citeh he would warm the pine and he would do the same at chelski....so no real reason to leave.

Anyways, you have trouble with long term vision versus short term results. The new world of FFP favours our approach and like it or not the future is red and white (not liverpool).

Football is all about winning trophies, hence the reason Arsenal have lost so many of their best players year after year. They leave Arsenal to join clubs so they can win silverware. Give me 1 CL title, 1 CL final & 1 Carling Cup any day of the week.

Klaas Jan Huntelaar to be scouted by Arsene Wenger during
the Champions league clash with Schalke. He got 49 goals in
51 games last season. Better than Rvp's 38 in 53. Llorente and
Mario Gotze have also been scouted this season. Gilles
Grimandi watched Gotze vs Man City as Arsene plans a £30m
move. Wenger looking to tie Llorente to a pre contract in
January for a move in the summer. Huntelaar is Available for
£5m in January. Thierry Henry also tipped to join in January in
a permanent move this time. JJ.

I find it absolutely laughable that we waste time 'scouting' these players. I appreciate that Wenger might be so wrapped up in his own world that he misses the boat on many players...but the scouting network itself, absolutely no need. Everyone on the planet who has access to internet, TV, and say 30 mins free time, can see how good these players are and whether they'd fit.

Scouting someone from lower leagues like Jenko, or some random striker like Abdellaoue - fine. Huntelaar? Goetze? Come on.

Yeah 3 strikers and a worldie like Götze will come in. Dream on. With Wenger we can be happy if he gets Henry back on loan, lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

So we are going to sign three strikers when we only ever play one? get a grip.

Ed, can Llorente do the whole pre contract agreement in January. Would there be any likelihood of Arsenal giving it a go, or is he pretty much marked by the old lady of Turin?

In Arsene I Trust. {Ed001's Note - yes he can. That would be up to Arsene and no, he has not chosen a move yet, though his wages might well make things difficult for Arsenal.}

JJ are you ksi?

Huntelaar too similar to Giroud.
Llorente - wages too expensive.
Henry too old.
Goetz - recently signed a contract extension till 2016.
