Ian wright saying wenger was arrogant and didn't put enough effort in! That team had 11 internationals in including 6/7 starting 11 in (Sczenzny, Vermaelen, Kosceilney, Monreal, Diaby, Arteta, Giroud) also gervinho, ox, Coquelin not so Rosicky have all had good runs in the team this season, so how can wenger not prioritise the Fa cup and be arrogant, clearly he wasn't! As well it was 0-0 when Theo, Jack and Santi came on so he obviously wanted to get the job done in 1 leg! These are the comments the players will get doubts and disbelief from instead of getting motivation from these people! If anything despite the poor defending for the goal and lack of ruthletvess the team dominated and It took the bar and some great saves to deny us so if anything luck was beyond us today and with Blackburn! 8 years without trophy isn't good enough and I'm as desperate for a trophy but constant slagging off isn't going to help the cause in the near future!

Finally some perspective, cheers!

I agree it was a tough loss, we should have made more of our chances, and we should have had more of a cutting edge; but the way some of the fans on here are going on you would think we were in danger of being relegated.

It is not good enough to lose to a lower tiered team, but we are still in the champions league unlike certain other teams.

We can still qualify for the Champions League next year by winning the competition or with a good run of form.

Yes, Bayern is a tough draw, but matches are won on the pitch and over two legs we can beat them if we play to our potential. At least, they will not defend for 90 minutes and look to poach a goal.

Let's just get behind the team and see where we are at the end of May.

In May, we can then talk about sackings and signings. There is not much that can be done right now in player or management personnel.

IMHO I think we will finish in 3rd or 4th in the table anyways, despite the doom mongers amongst us and the press.

I agree can beat bayern if play to potential but could also quite easily lose both legs by 4 or 5 goals. Hate to see wenger doing so poorly but standard ov players is woeful

Agree0 Disagree1

I'm afraid you both are deluded and living in the past. We have won nothing in 8 seasons and not been close to competing, we are miles of winning anything. Wenger has to go at end of season, I am fed up with the excuses now. ie: stadium, funds, board.
Firstly he is a coach not a finanace director, he is tactically inept. Funds, he has had money but sprnt it poorly, Gervihno 11m, Grioud 13m, Ramsey 5m, Santos 7m, arteta 10m, podolski 11m, also blind faith in Diaby & Rosicky. Board, I agree that this needs to change.
Thank you Mr Wenger for the memories and what you have done but you seem unable to take the club further, it time to go.

Agree2 Disagree1

We as fans have reason to criticise everything about the club in recent times. It's not like wenger hasn't had the players to build around, once upon a time we were like something from another planet. But now were very average. How do we get bullied into selling our stars? And to domestic rivals too. We have handed man united the league, in pre season there were talks of how poor they were. Then you add RVP and suddenly the whole atmosphere at their club changed. Sometime ago, everyone who left the club did so because it was right for us. Hardly any of them bettered their career, but now were losing key players in their peak and most have won titles straight away.

Fair enough I hear your point about being there for your club and not moaning etc. but it's been 8 YEARS! Without a trophy, how many more years of winning nothing will it then be okay to show our disappointment? It is time for massive changes, and they need to be put in place so that when the summer arrives, we don't wait until the last moment as it seems with everything in recent years.

Fingers crossed for a bright shiny trophy in the near future! COYG!!

Arsene out at the end of the season. Simple. We're breeding a culture of bad results and decline. Time to switch it up and move forward. Exiting the champions league then more poor premiership league form will only galvanise this feeling.

Times change, clubs evolve, players leave (we know that all too well) and managers bring different ideas and methods.

Agree1 Disagree0

International players mean nothing, San Marino and Andorra players are all internationals

Agree0 Disagree0

To the poster who said internatioal players mean nothing? But none of our players play for Andorra or San Marino, they play for top European countries so I don't quite get your point?

Agree0 Disagree0

Our players may not be Andorrans etc. but in many cases they are either a long way from current national selection or they play for countries on the down (Cote Ivoire, anyone?). The length of time since the last trophy is a red herring, I started supporting the Gunners when they'd gone 17 years without a sniff.
However, ther is no sign of improvement over the past 5 years, just a slow downward spiral as Wengers methods become increasingly stale and pointless.
He has had TWICE the trophyless time that any other Arsenal manager has ever been given. Sell by date has been passed a long time ago.
The players are not motivated, organised or confident and that is all down to the manager to sort. Wenger just wrings his hands and denies responsibility

Agree0 Disagree0

Enough is Enough. Fans have put up with sub-standard performances for too long and it is not just down to bad luck. Defeats to Blackburn and Bradford in the cups, defeated at Norwich, lost at home to Swansea, drew at Stoke, scraped a win against Sunderland, Wigan and then QPR and Stoke at home. Could only manage a draw at Aston Villa, and also at home to Fulham. Come on, this is totally pathetic and quite frankly we are embarrasing!

@COYG, £10m for Arteta was a master stroke. One of the most underrated players, purely due to the Spanish era he was born in. Top quality player.

£5m for a youngster that plenty of clubs were kicking themselves at losing out on.

Too early to say about Pod and Giroud, but I still maintain he'll soon be banging them in. His positional sense and movement is very good.

No argument on Gervinho. Awful. Just awful.

Theo santie and jack came on after we went 1-0 down

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't care who starts. If these guys can't destroy blackburn then thank you and goodbye, you're not good enough.

Sorry COYG, it was the post above you.

have you heard anything?

this is not a wind up!

champagne charlie {Ed002's Note - I have not heard anything like that CC.}

Believable13 Unbelievable55

I think you're way off the mark trying to start this rumour, he would never walk away mid season, he probably won't ever walk away by his choice.

When this is proven to be bull$hit, Charlie please will you put your name at the top of all of your future posts, so I never have to read through your crap ever again.

Ah so you are Malaga Gooner after all!

Agree2 Disagree0

Well your 'reliable source' was spot on weren't they. After all it's not like Arsene is about to be given a two-year-contract extension.

Great work ed02.
Ed please can you tell me what do you see for arsenal in the coming months and in the summer in respect of changes on the board and transfer activity in the summer. thanx
wajid {Ed002's Note - In the longer term (the next 20 months) it seems likly that you will see changes to the ownership of the club, the management and the playing staff. As I explained, when I get the time I will explain more about what appears to be likely to happen - but it won't be until sometime next week.}

Believable13 Unbelievable3

Ed you tease! Can't wait to hear more {Ed001's Note - one thing I can say, a very close friend of Steve Bould's told me that he doesn't expect to be in his position next season. He is certainly not expecting a promotion either!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Any update on this?

Got me curious. {Ed002's Note - I don't have the time right now, sorry.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Rumour is wenger has told the players this evening that he's on the brink of resigning. This is an all time low for him. Tuesday will be the final straw should we suffer a heavy defeat.

Believable21 Unbelievable23

I hope this is true - it would certainly cheer me up - 8 years of failure and no sign of any progress!

I would love for us to sign benteke in the summer. We obviously need one more striker, would give us so much variety. We could even play 2 up top with giroud and benteke. Would take a mean defence to be able to deal with those two.

Please wenger sign him!

I hear about a buy back clause for Vela,
I think we should take him back in the summer as well as signing a keeper (mignolet) and a defensive minded player (capoune)

Not good enough to make a difference.

I read that too in spanish websites. Real Sociedad is scared Arsenal will take him back. I don't believe it will happen though.

AZ Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

He doesn't want to come back, the reason he left was because he didn't like England. He's found his form in Spain so there's no chance of a return
