We are set to complete the move for the talented Marseille midfielder, Albuena. The cost will be £10m including Gervinho, who is looked highly at in France.
Id rather we spent our "£70m" budget on experienced and quality players like Higuain, Fellaini, Cesar

Fellaini is not the player we need, we need a dm not him, I just wish people stop fixating on him, for the price of him he is not worth th money plus he would want a lot of wages, I rather go for another dm who is cheaper and a lot better.

Valbuena is quality.

I think Fellani will do the job well as dm.
Agree1

What are you talking about? Fellaini has proved himself time and time again as a quality dm but also he can even play as a number 10 he is so versatile and pure class, well worth the cash. Sign him up, wenger

Fellani's favourite position is DM.
Agree1

Know him personally do we? I agree we need someone that's going to play dm and just dm, look what happened with song, was getting forward too much leaving gaps and fellaini will do the same! We need a makelele type player

10m + gervinho crazy? even switch!
Agree0
Disagree0
This is silly, i'd rather gervais than valbuena especially spending 10 mill!
+ fellaini is what we need at dm, + even if he does decide to go up at least arteta can cover him
Agree0
Disagree0
So you expect arteta, fellaini, wilshere and cazorla to take up the two centre midfield roles and attacking midfield role, 4 into 3 doesn't go I'm afraid
Island Gooner
Agree0
Disagree0
Valbuena is cazorla level. trust me on that. i've been watching a lot of french football, he's a class player. I doubt we'll get him as we have a lot of creative midfielders. If we get fellaini, higuain and cesar we'll win the league and go very far in champs league.
Agree0
Disagree0
Island Gooner have you ever heard of squad rotation? or injuries? we need more than just a starting 11 to compete at the highest level! Fellaini would be great signing for us add extra height and make us more dominant on set pieces at both ends!
Brad
Agree0
Disagree0
He is not Cazorla level you should apologise for that statement. How many goals, assists has he even got compared to Cazorla. If he was even close to Cazorla he would be at a far better team in Germany, Spain or the Prem.
Agree0
Disagree0
Valbuena isn't even a regular for his country lol don't be stupid. Cazorla had Real Madrid chasing him before and the ohh so great Valbuena is only good enough for a swap deal for Gervinho!
Agree0
Disagree0
Brad I was merely pointing out the starters, otherwise I would of mentioned coquelin, Ramsey, rosicky, chamberlain and diaby who can also play in those 3 positions! Obviously diabys injured AGAIN but there's your cover! I just think money should be spent in other areas

heard fellaini has signed already. also heard from aldunstair on twitter (a golf dude) that cesc is back on and very possible. claims to have inside info and usually says nothing about football. he was told by a mate 'in the know. ' could be talking out of his whatsit though.

Andre Ayew has been offered on loan as a makeweight due to the fact Marseille aren't keen to cover all Gervinhos wages if he goes there on loan.

Argh great so Marsielle give us there flop on loan and we give them ours, I don't see how that helps our problem with deadwood!
Agree3

Sorry person who said Ayew is a flop. Have you watched him play?
Maybe you're thinking of his brother Jordan?
Agree1

No more players from the French league please! And the player in that deal us reportedly Valbuena. There is a reason Marsle value Gervinho over Ayew. The player we'd be selling! That says enough already!

Marca are reporting it. David Ornstein of the tv has also said Higuain is our top CF target (though he's mentioned nothing of a bid).

Wenger is counting each penny. its a long way to 25 million. 3 weeks by my estimation. I counted 15 pence and it took me 23 seconds.
i heard it from a taxi driver, who took arsene wengers neighbour for a drive, who in turn met arsene wengers dog walker, who in turn spoke to arsene wenger's maid in paris, who in turn met thierry henry at a recent meeting at wengers, who in turn asked arsene how he knows how much money he spends.
to which arsene replies, I count every penny.

The fact the Everton are looking at Leroy Fer again has to be a promising thing in our pursuit of Fellani. I think the last time rumours circulated about Fellani a year or two ago, they looked to bring him in as cover but the deal broke down probably because Fellani didn't move.
On another front, I'm not in the know, but I hope that the Higuain rumours gathering pace of late are true. Would be a great addition. A natural finisher, who would surely finish the vast amount of chances our team creates each game.
Bear Gunner.

I seriously don't understand why people want fellani he isn't a holding midfielder, and we have two of the best creative midfield players in the league in cazorla and jack, fellani played being the striker all last season, I don't feel we need him as its an area that is well and truly covered he will offer nothing new to us.

Fellani didn't play up front last season, jelavic or anichebe did for the most part. Fellani plays more of a lampard box to box type midfielder for them. Midfield engine type guy.
I agree with your point though, we have a very creative midfield, but lack ball winning, defense covering, ill drop in when the full backs have gone forward type guys.
Id describe fellani as more of a viera (albeit not as good) whereas we need more of a gilberto IMO.
Agree1

His best and favoured position is holding mid. He is strong, skilful and got good aerial presence he will be perfect for us and has prem exp! That's why!
Agree3
Disagree0
I thought he was crap when we played them at home but then on the highlights he did break a lot of our play down without me noticing
I did notice he was not great with the ball so
With that said, not super happy if we sign him as not the CDM I wanted nor the super creative person we need either. I don't want a poor man's Paddy.
To say he will help attacking corners - great but that is a small part of the game. I want a striker to help at corners etc, CDM to protect back 4 and an attacking midfielder to create chances
Not sure this guy ticks any of the above but kind of does a lot okay. This does not help us drive the team forward
Surely any beast will help at corners

Let's get things straight, I didn't say I wanted him to come. Simply the likelihood of him rig available. And secondly, he has openly said he is a DM but has been asked to fulfill a more advanced role this season. Probably because of lack of cover after Cahill left.
What it all boils down to is his attitude, if Wenger has talks with him and is convinced Fellani can stay disciplined in his role and not go in search of glory going forward. That's said, would the quoted £22m be better spent on Lars Bender or Wanyama? With cash to spare?
Agree0

Spend it more wisely I would say
Gonalons or Capoue
SY4
Agree0

Wanyama plays in Scotland! Scotland no he isn't worth 22m don't be silly Capoue if you have ever watched him he is very overrated lastly Gonalons is a good player but is not worth 22m. Bottom line Fellani has the ability, experience, mentality and aggression for the experience.

He is Manchester United's and Chelsea's biggest problem when they play each other. He is a quality player.

Everton have just but the fee to agree for Leroy Fer. Fellani is ours I guarantee it.

Arsenal are 90% to 100% close to signing the Real Madrid Forward, Gonzalo Higuain. The deal is going to be around 30m euros (£25. 5). The striker netted 16 times this year in only 16 starts! We are also 75% to 80% close on signing the Everton midfielder, Fellaini. I suspect the deal is going to be around £24/5m.
I personally believe that these two additions will definitely secure Champions League football next season and a trophy, like the f. a cup or capital one cup.

16 in 19 is still a very impressive record even still and I think he'd fit in perfectly.

There is still a long way to go yet for both players then.

With Jack coming back and The Ox maturing we could we win the league with these possible signing (maybe GK is and issue?)

according to david ornstein (bbc) twitter, arsenal will sign a cf, which he says our first choice is higuain, as well as an cam and a cdm. he also says we won't sign any defenders unless anyone leaves. my bet for the cam and cdm would be grenier and fellaini which would be a great summer imo

Just found out that Keisuke Honda is out of contract at CSKA. Ed can you tell me if there is any interest from Arsenal? He's 27 years old, a quality player and on a free! The price (free) must be to Wenger's liking! lol {Ed029's Note - Posted on another page by Ed02 - Liverpool were very interested at one time but may have blown their chance of Honda in January 2011 when he was available for about £8M. During the mid-season in Russia, Wolfsburg and Juventus were interested in Honda but the player said he wanted to move to Spain and the 25M euro asking price put them off. Last summer we saw enquiries for the player have been from Lazio, PSG, Sevilla and Palermo. It seems to be the longest running of the Liverpool (and Arsenal) related "rumours". Honda was close to leaving last summer with a move to Lazio only failing at the last minute and I understand that Lazio would still be interested at the right price. He has had a bit of a strange season in that he has been scoring goals but his performances have been criticised - which seems to have put off Dortmund who have taken a recent look. Valencia have shown interest recently and would like to have him sign a pre-contract in the summer (as he becomes a free agent in January) but I imagine the player will wish to see what options are available. I am told that interest also remains from Fulham, Everton and what looks like his most probable destination right now, Milan.}
