Arsenal will not sign Rooney
Arsenal will not sign Adler
Arsenal will not sign Fabregas

Stop just believing everything you read possible signings are gonalons, higuian, sanogo, jovetic, Williams, corchia, mingolet.

You say don't believe everything you read then go on to name possible signings as all the players the newspapers have linked us with. Oh the irony.

Agree6 Disagree0

So you didn't just read and regurgitate all the names you read in the press, you had a call from Arsene I suppose? Well done!

Willesden Gooner

Agree1 Disagree0

Adler, Fabregas, Jovetic and Rooney are names the Press didn't 'find out about' until months after their "inception".

However you've named "most likely", the ones who're predominantly paper talk (Jovetic aside).

-Well played.

You should listen to your own advice

Haha "Arsenal will not sign anyone mentioned in the press but chances are they will sign all of the people mentioned in the press"

He said don't believe "everything" you read. Give the guy a break. I agree Fabregas and Rooney will never happen. We only need more strength in depth and tweaks anyways

Detroit Gooner

I said POSSIBLE signings and this is a rumour site, I meant that the first three are rather unlikely for many reasons and the rest are more likely. Every player mentioned is paper talk apart from a few wenger has confirmed.

All good buddy. Just some good natured joshing ;-) A lot of those players are highly feasible.

Lol @ Ross

That comment was only in context to the rumour regarding Cesar no of us can provide final decisions on any player as we are not in the Arsenal board.

gonna be man city manager Pellegrini has given a 5 player list to the city board.
The 5 players he needs to buy. include santi cazorla.

Believable16 Unbelievable129

No chance on this earth will Arsenal sell Santi!

Agree1 Disagree2

I was expecting these rumors considering he played for him. However can't see it they'll go for someone younger I reckon. Like Isco

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would they be handing a list to him? Surely it would be the other way round

Agree0 Disagree0

Yup sorry but goodbye santi

haahaha good luck city in getting santi

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't need to sell players under contract anymore. We're debt free.

Paul {Ed027's Note - 250m isn't exactly debt free

Agree0 Disagree0

Firstly, that is the right way round. The manager hands a list of the players he wants to the board and they take it from there in most cases, including at City. Rare cases it doesn't, e. g. Fergie and Wenger, but even then the board has the final say in terms of releasing funds/deal negotiations.

But what I wanted to say was this whole things smacks of a lack of faith in the coaches at City. The truth is, Nasri and Silva have both been poor this season by their standards. Instead of wanting to coach them and manage them into producing better football, they'd rather just try and bring someone else in. It's piss weak management. If this new guy doesn't think he's got a enough talent in Yaya, Silva and Nasri then he doesn't deserve to be considered a top manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pau that's nonsense. We won't be debt free until 2031.

It might be that the need to sell players has gone though.

This summer, I don't think it's a case of needing to sell players. It's more a case of knowing that there are a hell of a lot of outgoings, with a lot of the senior squad and some youth/reserves leaving, so much so that we won't need to sell stars.

Flappy, Mannone, Squid, Djourou, Bendtner, Park, Chamakh, Arshavin are all likely to go.

Then Rosicky, Sagna, Coquelin and Diaby are maybes although Diaby is likely to stay.

Then there are wildcards such as Vermaelen and Gervinho.

We do NOT need to sell a first team starter for financial reasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

I suppose selling him would make room for Cesc if he's really returning. I doubt it though.

Yaya Sanogo signed for Arsenal on a 4 years deal according to L'Equipe. Good move from Wenger, the kid is worth it. That shouldn't prevent us from buying a proven striker hopefully.

Quite the injury gamble.

"In 2010 after impressing for French U19 side he suffered a double break of his leg playing for Auxerre reserves, which ended his season. By the start of the 2011 season he had successfully recovered, was playing again for the first team and earned a call up for the French U21 side.

Everything was going well, but just after scoring his first senior goal against Toulouse he suffered another setback, injuries relating to his original leg break would keep him out for another year. "

Decent looking player from what I've seen. A steal for whatever the compensation is. With bendtner chamakh park defo set to leave I would expect to see another forward to join after him

Agree0 Disagree0

Once again our manager let's us down, signing an unknown player as cheap as possible, trying to be clever. Those who think we will sign another striker, established world class, sorry you're delusional. We will have giroud, podolski, this fella and cambell back on loan. I have had enough of it, fake promises and no trophies.

Agree0 Disagree1

Go support another club if it bothers you that much. A expensive fee does not make a worldclass player. Don't get me wrong I would love us to spend big on a forward. But there are other areas more important. That's my opinion anyway.

Agree1 Disagree0

Do you think we will get him, or it's a no go. (sanogo, geddit?)

Bedworth Gunner

Agree0 Disagree0

Hasn't signed anything yet according to Wenger.

Agree0 Disagree0

Injury gamble, but he was young when he suffered the leg break, so not as worrying.

Look at Rambo.

Either way its a free transfer and I wouldn't imagine his wages to be astronomical. he's coming from the second division in France after all.

Worth the investment in my eyes.

free transfer {Ed027's Note - The transfer is not 'free', we have to pay a compensation and other costs

Agree0 Disagree1

Oh my Arsenal. Always always signing kids. That's why we have been without a trophy for 8 seasons. In life, you strike a balance! Nurturing the kids is great for the game and the academy but we need proven stars also to get trophies and encourage the younger ones. Barcelona does the same. They sign proven STARS. Fab4, Villa from Valencia, Mascherano from liverpool I think. Sanchez. name it. and also nurtured some kids that became stars. Messi for one! Iniesta, Fab4 also. We have got to start signing top top players also.! Cazorla and Poldi were good ones but we need more and need to avoid average players. Sanogo ermm. never heard of him but he could turn out to be a star also but is that really what we need now? another striker that will be shipped out on loan? Whatever happened to Joel campbell, Ryo Miyachi? Vela. all that promise! We need immediate action. We need to get made stars like Jovetic and Higuain so that the team can have stars that will help to encourage the nurturing of future ones. aaarghh Monsieur Wenger! so annoying but my heart is with Arsenal

Agree0 Disagree1

So Wenger has just confirmed that a Yaya Sanogo deal is "in advanced stages" personally never seen anything of him but heard a lot of hype.

In Football Manager he is THE player to sign. Not that Football Manager has any baring on reality.
