Edd do you rate angelo ogbonna and have arsenal shown intrest {Ed002's Note - Since last spring, PSG, Roma, AC Milan and Manchester United have all made enquiries with Torino regarding the sale of Ogbonna who at one time interested Arsenal and Lyn Oslo. The summer might be a likely time to move.}

I just saw the post about that the fans are to blame. FFS! Are you really that dilusional? That is by far the worst post I have read here and I have read a few bad ones for sure. I am all for having different oppinions beacuse it makes the site more interesting but I am not suprised that post didn't come with a sign off name attached to it. Get your head out of your ass, you might actually se something.

Couldn't agree more!

That is denial if I've ever seen it- it can't be wenger; his transfers policies, decision making, etc, etc it must be something else surely. ? I know! It must be the fans!

It is time people really started seeing things as they are, not want they hope and want to see.

If you don't like the way the clubs being run don't renew your season tickets. Think you have a team that plays great football there are only 4 trophys to be won and look at football history every team has his day I don't think spectators would want George graham type football back.

I agree with the comment in part in that why do arsenal fans demand success anymore than clubs like thfc lfc efc? The fans wanted experience and could not wait for the inexpensive youth to come through. Well now we have experienced signings on expensive contracts who are not playing and don't want to leave. I really want the team to win the champions league and we are much further away from it with the experienced players than we were with fabregas and co. I want arsenal to sign the best players to compete against the best teams but realistically with the sugar daddies in football we won't be able to pay 30 million for a 25 year old and pay him 100,000 a week, because clubs will pay 55 million and 200,000 a week. So get the best youngsters and match the top teams with money, but give an added reason for the youngster to join, which is if he works hard we will give him an opportunity to play. We are paying for a great stadium and the managers biggest fault is listening to the fans and changing his policy to buy average to good in some cases experienced players. Stick with the team gunners fans, there are enough people from outside the club trying to get arsene wenger to leave and I really do believe he deserves a lot more respect.

In reply to the previous post regarding experience - I am astounded at the amount of fabrication that some people will pursue in their denial.
So Chamakh, Gervinho, Park and Santos were all experienced but none of them good enough for the EPL. The inability to coach within the demands of the current game means Arshavin has been wasted and Podolski is following the same path.
Persisting with Denilson, Senderos, Bendtner and Diaby long after they should have been moved on proves the AW will not admit when he's wrongand is now behaving increasingly like a mad dictator. I will keep repeating this - 8 trophyless seasons is 4 more than any other Arsenal manager has ever been given. That we have stood for it so long (compared to Liverpool or Tottenham) shows that AW was appreciated. Fund of gooodwill is now used up.

Well said clerkenwell,

In response to the earlier comment about there being only 4 trophies to be won each season, well that means that 31 trophies have passed us by since we last lifted a cup (soon to be 32). For a club the size of Arsenal this is a disgrace and the blame has to lay firmly at Arsene Wenger for it is he who continually plays weakened teams against lower opposition and as always it goes wrong - when will he learn. He has lost the ability to motivate the team and tactically he is inept as he could not even mastermind a cup final win against Birmingham. He was fortunate when he joined the club that he inherited a strong defence on what to build on, but sadly since the invincibles have moved on, we are too easy to break down, especially in the air. Arsene has been given too much credit for what he is done and not enough flack for continued failure. The fans have the right to make their feelings known, after all without the fans we would not have a club. Why should we have to put up with watching players like Gervinho wearing the shirt when he is totally useless and paying anything between £35. 00 and £100. 00 for the priveledge. I have been going to watch Arsenal (home and away) since 1971 and this current situation leaves a bitter taste - please Wenger GO!

Agree0 Disagree0

I love that people suggest if you question Wenger or the club you are not a "real" fan and should not renew your season ticket. Entertaining football at enormous prices should not be mutually exclusive with winning trophies, the purpose of a football club is surely to win?
The sooner Kroenke is out the better, as a disinterested owner and coach long past his best are a recipe for disaster

Agree0 Disagree0

I like others am a long and proud Arsenal Fan and will continue to be, I am however fed up with the current situation, as another posted " a football club is meant to win " ( Birmingham have won more than us in the last 8 years! ) and this after hearing how great we will be after leaving Highbury leaves a real nasty taste. I find fans who use the " support the club whatever " and "if you don't like it support city " very annoying, Arsenal fans are allowed to voice an opinion regardless of if its positive or negative!.

Why not buy Zieler or Kevin Trapp?
Both are class players.

Both great young keepers who couldn't cost the world.

I love the stories this morning that Wenger has a "70m war chest" to spend in the summer.

How does this lie appear every year, with an increasing amount, and STILL sell papers.
Even if we did have that amount to spend, would we use it?
Wenger only buys "exceptional" talent, that improves the current squad.
And there's clearly no improvement for Gervinho.

Believable36 Unbelievable1

Couldn't agree more than with what you've just put, if we have a massive amount of cash just as we did in january then why would we not use it. The only reason we managed to get monreal was because he was coming in the summer anyway and wenger knew that if he bought at least 1 player he would have the fans off his back, and you're right aswell because clearly there is no players that could help a team that are 5th in the premiership 21 points behind united. so if he can't find a player to replace some of these embarrassments to arsenal football club there clearly is a problem.

They spin these stories every year to help sell the club level renewals, clearly the uptake hasn't been great so far. These stories are to encourage the gullible to part with their hard earned money on an overprice renewal.

The PR department are very good at these stunts and do it all year round to make the fans believe change is round the corner

Agree0 Disagree0

And how many exeptional players has he bought in the last few years? One? That's a joke.

Agree0 Disagree0

Third guy, I meant it as sarcasm, didn't come off that way though!

Agree0 Disagree0

The worst thing for arsenal would be foe wenger to leave, clubs would be queuing up for him. then next year it could be another Harry rednapp rescue job.

Agree0 Disagree0

What staggers me is people continue to fall for it, season after season. Although rumour has it they have burned through the season ticket waiting list now.

So what is everyones thoughts on the possible 2 year extension that is reportedley being given to Wenger?

Im not his biggest fan but am not his biggest critic either.

Could the extention be his last chance to do something special?

Believable10 Unbelievable37

Im in two minds about Wenger. I believe he is going down the wrong route and is stubbornly sticking to it. Surely, he realises he needs an experienced keeper, at least one tall dominant centre back, two tall strong combative midfield players, to change formation back to his hugely successful fluid 4-4-2 formation, to release/sell the dross in the squad.
My reservation with sacking him, is that we need to replace him with a better manager and he may be achieving as much as can be expected, with the likes of Chelsea, Man City & Man U, to contend with.

Agree0 Disagree0

It looks like the extension will expire the same time guardiola is a free agent.

Not sure if it was planned that way but foresight is better than hindsight.

Also from what I have been reading even if usmanov does formally plan to acquire Arsenal, it will be a lenghty process and taking this summer as the time he initiates the process, with offers and counter offers and the FA board investigation to see if he is fit to be an owner and all that fluff, we are looking at roughly 14 months.

from when kronke bough his shares to what it is worth now. over 200 mill in profit easy, over 300 mill if my maths is correct.

getting the deadwood off the books is essential. those players who contribute nothing aka fabianski, squillachi and Arshavin, that's nearly 9 mill off the wage bill.

Plus all the loanee players we need to get rid off, plus the potential sales of players like Sagna and vermalen.

Not sure what the summer is going to be. but if we wait till the end of the transfer window to get players, its likely we are being misers over a fee and very likely the player will move elsewhere.

Lakerville.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never again, leave sir wenger

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it's a completel disgrace- he has under performed, at least as far as a lot fans feel.
Yes the board want to 'reward' him with a new contract? Oh but of course, he makes them money.

Agree2 Disagree0

I hope that he does not get offered a contract extension as it will then be another 2 years at least without a trophy. The previous post referred to "deadwood", but Wenger bought these players so it is his fault we are left with underachievers. As for Gervinho, he is the worst player I have seen in years at Arsenal and yet he still plays - shocking! It is time for the Club to show some courage and sack him now, regardless of the result of the Bayern game beacuse at least then we can appoint a new Manager who can start to bed in before the end of this season.

Agree2 Disagree0

I am not sure I believe it, but simply because it's the last thing I want and imo a terrible idea proving he is rewarded for mediocrity, it also wouldn't surprise me if it was true.

Sadly the only thing we can do is sit back and wait and see what materialises.

Agree1 Disagree0

AW gets a percentage of the profit on player sales and he has been offered the contract extension to complete player sales. Young inexperienced players will be brought in and expect Sagna, TV5, Arteta, Kos to leave this summer.
Guaranteed we will not be using any 70mil budget, which is media hype.
I don't actually enjoy our football these days and I never in a million years ever thought I'd feel this way.
Feel for Wilshere and Santi. They deserve better players around them. We could have had the team City have.
HSM

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry Arsenal, but another pack of lies regarding the 70M spend in the summer - we all know that this will not happen unless of course we sell Wilshere, Cazorla and Vermaelen and who would back against this happening so that the greedy Board can line their pockets even more!

Please leave Wenger while you still have some dignity.

Disgraceful from you guys. the man cares about his team more than y'all. accord him the respect he deserves. if and when he leaves. remember him for his achievements and what he has setup for the ext man.

Agree0 Disagree0

Made up story by the sun, just to stir up Arsenal fans. Steven Howard's a person

Agree0 Disagree0

If wenger is sacked at the end of the season a good replacement could be the current bayern manager has he did wonders with the defence and not conceding for 8 game in open play (until Arsenal). So of he could do that with our defence then we would go far
