Hi Eds,

I was reading an article where apparently Overmars stated that Alexis Sanchez could be moving back to the Emirates as he believes a switch back to familiar territory could help him rediscover his form.

I would be interested to know your thoughts on this, whether there may be any truth in this, and whether any fellow Gooners would want to see him back. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I cannot imagine for one minute that Arsenal would consider doing that. The money would be significant, it would be a step back and the risk high.}

Thank you kindly for responding.

I can't imagine it either Jim as financially it would make even Mesuts wages look reasonable.
But in a parallel universe where he wanted to come back on his old wages then yes I'd grab with both hands as he was our best performer of the past decade and more up until his last half season when he'd already decided to leave for City but we made him stay another 5 months which cost us a 60 million transfer fee when he ended up at United and we got Miki in stead of 60 million, not the clubs smartest bit of business ever that.

We do seem to make a pigs ear of outgoing transfers far to frequently 62.

Our business in both buying and selling ends of the market has been atrocious sparky mate, it looks like the club are trying to redress it now but the affects of the past will take time to put behind us mate.
A lot less giving out contracts on a job for the boys basis and negotiating and either settling on new deals or selling at a premium much earlier would make a huge difference in my opinion mate.
If in 2 years time Torreira won't extend cash in no matter how you we don't want to lose him at the time, it has to be better watching him join United Liverpool or even worse still Spurs on a free 2 years later mate.

Cant argue with any of that mate, we need to build a team where players don't want to leave, its been too long since that was the case.

The article said that he would rediscover his best form if moved there, not that it was a possibility, what would the director of football at ajax know about ne of this? I read an article saying jeff hendrick was going to come to arsenal to win the treble next year? what's your views on this guys and gals (im presuming that g62 is a right old tart)

I'm not much of one for bearing grudges against ex players Jack mate especially if I understand there reason for leaving
It's easy to label Sanchez a money grabber but in truth there wasn't much footballing reason to stay with us.

Bit of a random insult to g62 there? Or has that come out wrong?

I haven't posted for quite a while. But I have been thinking that perhaps one of Emery's problems is his English. I gave up looking at his press conferences some time back as I had too much trouble understanding him. Do people think his English has improved?

I recall there was some criticism of his French when he was at PSG.
Many of the players speak some Spanish but if he cannot communicate well wih all of the players it must cause some problems.

It's a very multicultural league Melbourne mate and it would be virtually impossible for any coach to speak all the languages needed let alone deal with regional accents etc, in the UK we struggle to understand each other most of the time although we all speak our own version of English:-)
I'm sure there are translators who get the message across mate, I remember Poch wouldn't speak English on camera during his first season at Southampton but used a translator even for post match interviews.

Personally, I love Emery's press conferences. Albeit difficult to understand at times, I can make out what he's trying to say, and have been impressed with both his work ethic and his message.

Has boat loads of passion and preaches unity between the executives, coaches, players, and fans.
