It is my understanding that we have signed a pre contract with Amborieta

Believable39 Unbelievable57

I can well believe this. rumour has it, we were talking to him late in the Jan window after he refused to extend his deal with atletico.
the player did not want to move mid season but will leave in the summer. if its on a free then arsene will certainly be in for him!

he has a horrendous disciplinary record

Sentiments apart, there're few goalkeepers around in the class and experience of Cech. He can play for any top team in the world! No keeper in the history of the Premier League has the record of Cech inspite of his terrible injury. I'll take Cech any day over Valdes.

And this has precisely what to do with Amborieta?

Honestly do not see why people are SO desperate for Szcznesny to leave. He's only 22 and already a decent keeper. Give him a break.

arsenal will finish above spurs for sure. but not above chelsea. they will have a good season next year basis of team very good. not enough reserve strengh thouigh for top competition. wenger needs to sort out that. don't expect quatari takeover. I understand they are in secret talks with west ham. this is from a very good source. expect a couple of complete transfer suprises in the summer. wenger will delight and astound his critics

Agree1 Disagree2

What about isco????

Agree1 Disagree0

Too right although Flappyhandski is on better form than him right now

Agree2 Disagree0

He won't delight anyone signing players from West Ham. It feels like its always next year that Wenger will break the bank and sign some world beaters, but it never seems to happen.

Rio Gooner

Agree1 Disagree0

Hes a crap keeper he's no confidence and has cost yez loadz of games the past 2 seasons.

He will be good as our number 2 keeper, but everyone says leave him alone he's only 22, but I've never seen such a cocky keeper who thinks he's the bollox when he aint, not good enough to be arsenals no 1.

Agree2 Disagree0

"What have you done for me now. " typical fan response in any sports yet alone life.

A top club need a top keeper

Agree1 Disagree0

Szcznesny is our best keeper period has had mental problems he just needs a nice break and next yr u will see we just need another keeper to keep him on his toes and give him a break like fa cup and littlewoods or carling cup games

subarudan

Agree0 Disagree1

His a good keeper, but will be a great keeper in a few years. Its not his fault that his are no1 choice, are tight **** manager won't spend so we have to count on the youngsters

It's time to hand Ramsey the reins over Arteta.

Mikel is a class act but his age has caught up and against the good passing teams our midfield struggles like it did Saturday

With Jack out I'd like to see

Santi Ramsey Rosicky given a try, I think that midfield can do some serious damage

Believable62 Unbelievable71

Serious damage going forward but also against us too, ros and Rambo haven't got the maturity to hold back/they love attacking too much. Arteta isn't quick but barely gets caught out high up the pitch. We shouldn't be having to discuss this anyway because wenger should have bought a quality dm ages ago!

Agree1 Disagree0

Ramsey has already been given a lot of chances. I think people are a bit harsh to him, but he does tend to get a bit lost when he starts games. He tends to look a lot better when coming off the bench. I think he needs to have a few very strong performances from the start to warrant a first team place.

I would personally prefer we look to sign a proper Gilberto-esque DM to start alongside Wilshere and Cazorla in the middle. I agree Arteta has past it a bit but I think he should be given a more attacking role, ie cover for Cazorla/Wilshere.

Oleg Maputo

Agree1 Disagree0

100% agree that we need Gilberto style player alongside Wilshere and Cazorla. That should be our first choice midfield with Diaby, Arteta, Ramsey, Coq etc. as good squad players (Wilshere is still too young to play every game and his form will probably drop at some point plus Cazorla looks knackered). I see Ramsey as a sucessor to Arteta and Rosicky plus good for squad depth.

Agree0 Disagree0

Santi and jack is the partnership to build the team around and for me Arteta is not quite good enough and Ramsey is a good squad player.
We need to buy the best DM we can afford along with a CF and then all the other issues regards positions will calm down ie first choice GK and CB although TV has been very poor this season

MB

Agree0 Disagree0

Heh! Ramsey.

Agree0 Disagree0

I mean for these next 9 matches, then yes, buy a proper DM. But for now, Ramsey has been more effective than Arteta

US Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Ramsey and Rosicky give the ball away far too much. Even if we did wintry were both shocking against Bayern. We should have sold Rosicky ages ago and Ramsey needs to step up now off be a bench warmer for next season.
Wilshere arteta holding santi behind the striker.

Agree0 Disagree1

Ramsey can't tackle, pass or score. some midfielder that

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with the last post. Ramsey is a shocking player. Horrible to say this but he hasn't shown the potential he was before leg break.

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree with last 2 posts, Ramsy is just not good enough at the moment, send him on loan for a few years, too slow, won't/can't tackle, looses ball to often, can't track back again too slow. open your eyes people. Arteta, great at passing sideways. {Ed027's Note - thats what Arteta's there to do, if you had your eye's open whilst he was at Everton and Arsenal infact, you'd know that he can pick passes very few can

Agree0 Disagree0

Arteta is 31, and not Everton Arteta anymore

I'm not slating him, I have a lot of respect, but his lack of pace stopped play almost 10 times against Bayern. he killed all momentum multiple times

Against top teams, Arteta is exposed for his lack of pace

Agree1 Disagree0

Again totally agree with above post.

Strong links between us and Vorm again, would be a great signing and would clear up the goalkeeping situation. We desperately need a new right back, Micah Richards is a possibility however he is injury prone, another possibility is Borussia Dortmund's Lukasz Piszczek. Also strong links with Martin Skrtel of Liverpool although the defender may return to former club Zenit. Jovetic would also be a class signing and great for the club.

Believable9 Unbelievable58

Both Vorm and Piszczek would be great ssignings tbh. I can't see Wenger actually spending the money required to sign them but that's if he decideds to stay at the end of the season or not.

As for Richards, sorry to burst your bubble but citeh will not sell to a rival club as they are niot stupid and greedy unlike us but a nice thought atleast.

Gavsta

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger doesn't like short goalkeepers, of whatever quality - see Shay Given. Given was far better than Almunia and he could have got him but didn't because of his height. Wenger like them to be commanding in the air.

Stewart

Agree0 Disagree1

Desperate for a right back? Jenkinson is a wonderful player, much better than Piszczek!

Agree1 Disagree0

Commanding in the air? Flappyhandski hardly fits this bill does he.

Agree1 Disagree0

Vorm is average.

Begovic or Mignolet would be class.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest I don't think we need another keeper, when mannone has played he's done well this season and fabianski having 2 clean sheets in a row is positive (fain enough swansea didn't have a shot on goal). the right back situation is a tricky one in my opinion, sagna not at his best this year (2 leg breaks will do that to you) and jenkinson has been brilliant at times but does show he's still inexperienced, so does this mean we go for another Right back and get rid of sagna? I would do, but piszczek doesn't look likely as dortmund are a better team now. but i'm sure wenger can think of someone. as for center back again its a tricky one, we have 3 obvious top quality center backs (TV, LK and PM) and i'd say we need another one of that quality if not better someone like hummels is everyone dream but let's be honest its not going to happen n'koulou looks plausible, and he looks likely to leave this summer, why we didn't get m'biwa is beyond me.

ideal summer for me:
outs:
sagna, santos, squillaci, djourou, frimpong, rosicky, arshavin, ramsey on loan, chamack, park

ins:
van der weil, n'koulou, wanyama, will hughes, isco (30m but come on, its isco) fisher from ajax a really good player!

i know a lot of people want jovetic, but I really believe giroud will be great next season

Agree0 Disagree0

Am I the only person who read the original post and thought, after the first 2 seconds of reading, strong links to vorm? What links?
