Ed, heard anything on te CB front? And a quick question. .do you support Arsenal? Only an arsenal fan would say he thinks its gunna be a good year ;) {editor's note - Squillaci and Tasci seem to be the most likely now, though why Tasci is taking so long, if it is him, I don't understand. No, this particular ed doesn't support Arsenal, but I do think, when you get a keeper and a centre back in, you are looking good for this season.}

First,

Looking at the games tonight, is pretty obvious that Subotic is out of discussion, as he played tonight.

The one who did not play again was, yes. . Serdar Tasci, which As I said before, I really believe is up for grabs.

Maybe one more, like Squillaci or another looser.

If no goalie arrives before Blackurn away, we will be hammered and also lose any chance from the start.

I still don't understand why Almunia hasn't left yet and why isn't Flappy out on a season loan.

Remember De Gea from Athletico? So, why not put Vito in goal and Cesny 2nd choice. I think they would be lovely.

From what i hear this evening Wenger sees Schwarzer as a value signing, but only at the price he values him at.This is why he made the same bid as before.Now that it has been turned down, he will push forward and sign Given.Also hearing tonight that Gallas has signed for the Spuds subject to a medical! Why oh why we got rid of Toure instead of that turncoat is beyond me.He will get some stick this season!

I've heard and read the news of arsenal agreeing a fee for montolivo is there any truth to this ed? {Editor's Note: Nothing I know of.}

and is there anymore news on the german team you believed arsenal agreed a deal with?

As AW has actually made an offer for Squillaci, it seems that he is the most likely defender to be coming to Arsenal

Im not sure if it will be Given or Schwartzer but the schwatzer rumour has basically gone dead on the arsenal front so i think that due to the fact we are on 'good terms' with city transfer wise surely mancini will be forced to negotiate with a decent bid?

I highly doubt that AW will sign a replacement for Nasri as Rosicky has shown that he is more than capable and we also have vela, walcott ect.

I was one of the people saying Schwarzer to Arsenal is a done deal and really close to happening but i can't see why it isn't done by now. Either Wenger wants Given or he never answers his phone

Do you lot really think Arsene will spend £8m+ on a replacement for Nasri? Throwing up names like Ben Arfa & Honda, he's out for a month not a season. . forget midfielders, we need to buy keeper and a decent centre back. Someone like Gary Cahill would be nice but Wenger wouldn't spend the money quoted. most likely another unknown star of the future who will leave once he reaches his potential. (Ed, do you have any reliable info on the Given rumours?) Great site BTW!

To be honest i don't think wenger will try to sign schwarzer after another bid being rejected, he will now turn his attentions to Sebastion Frey of FIorentina, which i think he shud hav done weeks ago. He will also not buy Squillaci as he is 30 and has an 8m price tag, that is not wengers style, he will go for Subotic or Sakho, possibly both. What do u think ED??

Arsenal have gone in with a new 2 million pound bid for schwarzer(spelling) which has been knocked back again, why the fu k has Wenger gone back with the same bid that got knocked out the park back in May.

So basically your 'associate' uis saying Shay Given is out third choice. . . ha ha ha ha that's all i have to say to that, complete rubbish. . Arsenal could have signed a keeper long ago they have held out to sus the situation at City hence the fact now that Gioven is the one dropped we are linked with him. . All talk of Shwarzer has also calmed down since Given was dropped. . And the fact we were linked with both its no coincidence. We will sign Shay Given but probably not till Friday or Monday, no deal will be done the weekend

Literally in the last 5 minutes Sky Spots are reporting Fulham are in for Loach and Celtic are in for Anders lindagaard, both Goalkeepers. . So both seem to have other keepers in mind. . . . Soo this to me means they both MIGHT know something about the Given situation we dont. But there is no Way Schwarzer will sign for Arsenal, it would have been done by now surely! !, Do not be suprised if he is going back to Boro HOPEFULLY

Sébastien Squillaci is highly rated in France as a quality CB. Having previously been successful at both Monaco and Olympique Lyonnais. The two sticking points at the moment are: Sevilla FC over-valuation of a 30 year-old player and that Sevilla have gone public before the deal has been concluded.

Shay Given's preference is for CL football and Arsenal, this is entirely down to whether MCFC are prepared to sell to Arsenal or not. He has no interest in being No.2 at city or replacing supposedly Arsenal-bound Schwartzer at Fulham. City's hope is that Celtic come in with an offer. I think at the last minute he will be sold to Arsenal.

Arsenal's interest in Hatem Ben Arfa could be genuine as Nasri has undergone knee surgery and with Ramsey and Diaby also hurt a replacement is needed. Expect Squillacci and Schwarzer to follow, so in:

As it has now been made public by their national media I may as well confirm that Arsenal have offers accepted for

Sebastien Squillaci
&
Riccardo Montolivo

All the rest were allowed to send the agents the wrong way. Arsenal do not deal with clubs who go public with their interest and only Montolivo is not certain to join as Italian players are notoriously difficult to get to move.

TO the person who said that. . .

Dint Koscielny's club come out and say that wenger was interested?? If wenger was interested and the price is right , he will get his guy, and he knows when desperate situations come, like 2 years ago when we were in danger of loosing to villa for the 4th place, he bought ARSHAVIN, who was costly. .even though he was old. .and the SOL situation last year. .but if u ppl are expectinh him to spend the cash he has, i think he wont. .he will again delay and not get the person. . i think we have spent just 2-3 mil this year as 75 % of Koscielny's money was recouped by eduardo's sale. .and then he talks about the fact that this team is good enough to win. .maybe he has just lost it in his head that we need defenders and a good goalie. . but if this season we don't win anything, i think both RVP and CESC will leave. . .we saw in the pool game that our midfield was overrun. .and Koscielny is far away from the developed article required at this point. .

Well well well it seems there is alot of deluded goooooooners! on here, i don't think you will sign anyone now and here is why, your manager is a stubborn git who belives he has a good squad already and that they can compete at the top level and this IS true but and its a big but, your not good enough to win it out right and its that simple with the money city have spent and the fact liverpool have Hodgson now the fact that the spurs boys love playing for Redknapp i think Arsenal will fall away at April time and probably finish 6th and this will be all because of injuries you have a great starting 11 just as good as anyone in the league but i think utd chelski city pool and the yid army have a better squad and that my goooner friends will be your down fall. anyway onto some rumours just to keep you goooners happy the fulham keeper will stay so you can forget that one almunia will stay and be your number 1 so i look forward to some more gifted cock ups from calamity AL at the lane again. Hey editor is it true that squillaci will be joining arsenal from seville. he was also left out of the squad today could this be an indication or just gossip? {editor's note - I think this is true, he was definitely left out ahead of a move to the Prem according to his agent. Though he wouldn't confirm it was Arsenal or that it was sealed, just left out to stop him picking up a knock or becoming cup tied. The fact that there was a worry over him being cup tied for the Champions League means it can only be you, Spurs, United or Chelsea though.}
