apparently Arsenal are preparing a new bid for Cabaye believed to be around the £16mil mark and also heard we're trying to sign Begovic

Believable20 Unbelievable54

We will not bid 16M for Cabaye, we may however bid 10m and 1p to activate a non existent clause! We are a shambles and need changes throughout and we need them now!

Arsene Wenger got in my cab today.

I said "where to, mate"

He said, "drive with your eyes closed, it's been working for me for the past 8 years".

On a serious note, and please correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it Dick Law who is in charge of contracts at Arsenal. If so, he needs a good kicking for the mess we have found ourselves in.

Enough is enough.

Believable58 Unbelievable17

Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that Dick Law has not respect from the football world and is renowned for his lack of respect for other clubs. I remember a distinct example of Gary Cahill when he was at Bolton. Why is his head not on the line after many a transfer window with some good signings but horrible negotiating?

Agree1 Disagree0

No it's not Dick Law it's just a DICK mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Where you outside Lidl one minute before closing?

Apparently we have enquired about Paul Pogba and are readying a £20 million bid, exactly the type of player we need. Kondogbia is also said to be in the frame.

Believable31 Unbelievable44

I'm afraid to say that Man City are also in for Pogba. bidding war!

Agree0 Disagree2

We may have a chance of getting Kondogbia, but can forget any hopes of getting Pogba.

Agree1 Disagree1

These are the 2 most ideal players we can go for and it would be so wonderful yet I get the feeling dreams don't come true at arsenal anymore. pogba has said he wants to stay and extended his contract and dogbia has a 20 mill euro release which amazes me why we havnt met it in july.

Agree1 Disagree0

No chance of Juve selling, Marchiso had a bad injury yesterday, out for a while.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2013 18:09:23
Juve won't sell for £20m. Going to have to go over £30m if we're going to get him, and then there is the small task of convincing him to leave the Italian champions for our club in crisis. Don't see it coming off. Maybe the lad from Sevilla.

Agree3 Disagree0

Readying a bid?

Why are we STILL readying bids with September looming.

doing my absolute nut in!

I'm hearing that we are going to bid for Begovic. Given our transfer market form, it's irrelevant as we'll probably offer about a million quid, butbif it were to happen it would be the best signing we could make. Yes we need about 5 players, but all great teams are built from the back, and our keeper is an utter clown.
That wenger hasn't already replaced him makes me think, more than any other single factor, that he's no longer up to the job.

Believable37 Unbelievable16

I agree mate, for the last 2 seasons now we've needed a stronger keeper and we're still waiting. And same with a def mid, what are these people paid for? If you ask most fans what we're short of, everyone will more or less have the same opinion. So why is it that the people in charge of the club are too blind to see it? I think it's been left too late already in this transfer window, a lot of quality players that have been our long term targets have been and gone. It's time the fans were given an explanation by the club at what's been going on the last couple years

Confirmed : Arsenal can register one more player for the Fenerbahce game by Midnight tomorrow.

Chance to get an extra body in.

Believable9 Unbelievable25

Can't see that happen.
but it would be a world class buy!

Agree1 Disagree0

Probably Bendtner

Agree0 Disagree0

But hardly likely to feature tomorrow night

Agree0 Disagree0

So what, player signed on Tuesday played on Thursday, which nursary

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably Flamini.

ITV reporting we've bid £20m for Pogba. Please happen, we need someone like this.

Believable34 Unbelievable16

Would love this one to be true he could definitely do what patrick Vieira did for us all those years ago.some how can't see it happening tho

Agree0 Disagree0

Would much prefer a world class proven striker than a youngster with potential. 5 in 27 is not great is it.

Agree1 Disagree0

Please let it be correct!

Class player and someone who will make a real difference to our team.

We are crying out for a classs holding midfielder.

Agree1 Disagree0

Hes not a striker so don't see what your point is chess?

Agree1 Disagree0

Chess,

He is a midfielder or were you being sarcastic?

Agree0 Disagree0

What you on about Chess? He's a CDM!

Agree1 Disagree0

Seeing as Pogba is a DM it's awesome

Agree1 Disagree0

Happy with that goal ratio for a CDM

He could change the side

Bring him on

Agree1 Disagree0

Talking about designated positions for midfielders who are prolific goalscorers I would say they are quite difficult to pigeon-hole. They seem to have an element of free rein to their play. I am thinking of Lamps, Scholesey, Robbo - wouldn't like to say they are an obvious DM or CAM or anything really. I think if you have some one like that you maybe need to shape the rest of the team around them. For me I have never seen Rooney as an out an out ST. For me he is closer to those guys mentioned above.

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparantly in for Cabaye. Maybe not the world class player I hoped for, but a very good addition and someone who could improve amongst better players and with Wenger as manager. Would like to see him and Williams wrapped up before the weekend if possible, not necessarily to play but for the morale boost the club as a whole needs.

Believable7 Unbelievable28

Newcastle have all ready rejected it! It will be the case of 4-5 bids between now an the window closing an then last day panic buys, article doeant say Newcastles valuation but just says arsenal offered 10mil. so value will most prob be about 13-15mil. all that cash reserve, we can buy player out right right now where 95% of other clubs have to pay in installments an still we going to pussy foot around an try an save momey

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2013 15:10:05
Is there a clause in the Arsenal constitution that 75% of our players must be French or french speaking?

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Aug 2013 13:29:51
TV Reporting we have made bid for Cabaye, again desperation, so don't expect to see Bender, it maybe Cabaye as our next DM

Believable16 Unbelievable24

The bid has been rejected.

Agree0 Disagree0

Quality player but is this what we need? I always though Cabaye was an attacking midfielder? Apologies if i'm wrong. if not then maybe Cazorla on the left to replace Gervinho and bring Cabaye into the centre with Jack??

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard the bid has been rejected

12 million

Agree0 Disagree0

Ofcourse its desperation, wouldn't you be desperate to sign players when there's only 9 fit first team players?!

Agree1 Disagree0

Similar to Arteta, but doesn't sort out our DM problem.

If we buy an out an out DM, then wouldn't mind Cabaye at all.

Agree1 Disagree0

Sly reporting its been rejected. Bid believed to have been around £10m

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not what I am desperate to do, anyways if the bid is 10-12 m again wenger is deluded.

Arsenal make a bid for Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye - tv

Believable15 Unbelievable14

He is not the answer. That said, right now i'd take Nigel Reo-Coker back.

Agree0 Disagree1

I am now really depressed when the reality finally strikes home, we are looking for Premier league 3rd tier cast offs.and Man Citys old men Look at the so called offers, 1 Rooney never happen, and 2 Suerez never happen.3 Gustavo never happen nailed on dussuldorf. The class players acquired from Europe were all offered in one form or another viz Higuian, Cavanie etc. So Mr Wengers so called additions were merely posturing to pacify the fans

Agree0 Disagree0

Reo Coker never played for us?

I hear we are in for the Galatasaray forward Burak Yilmaz for a fee believed to be in the region of 18m personally I think this would be a great signing considering he scored 32 goals last season

Believable19 Unbelievable47

Where did you hear this? I'm putting wetting myself on hold. one of the best strikers in champs league last year.

Agree1 Disagree2

Why would he want to come to Arsenal - he is better off where he is. Totally disgusted by the way that our club is being run into the ground.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Aug 2013 11:22:30
not likely for that amount to be enough

Agree1 Disagree0

He's too similar to Giroud and even less mobile, I can't see it, the reason didn't sign Ba was because Wenger said he is the same as Giroud

Agree0 Disagree0

Again missed the oat on this one if papers are to be believed.
According to Turkish news site sabah.com.tr, Lazio have stated they have an agreement in place for Yilmaz fee of £15m.

The 28-year-old is thought to be set to sign a five-year contract worth £2.1m a season.

Arsenal fans, your board treats you as a cash cow. They are not interested in your ambitions, nor indeed victory on the pitch.

There is a power struggle within the club. On one side are the bankers, they are only interested in milking a great club for cash. The other side respect our history and traditions and want success.

The bankers are winning.

You are the victim. You pay the highest season ticket prices in the league, but are ignored.

We need a revolution now. This will be a barren season yet again.

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah Sure.
When Chelsea and LFC enquired about him, they were quoted atleast 35M and when Arsenal go for him they get him for half the amount quoted.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's actually about to join Lazio for £14m

Agree0 Disagree0

He scored 32 goals last season but he has a bad technic

Seems a deal for Williams has been agreed, just needs Wenger to approve it.

Believable19 Unbelievable73

We're did u get that info from!
Do u think we need Williams I would prefer sakho at psg
Wenger needs to sort it out I wish the board would get rid of him
I am trying to keep the faith let's hope we get some world class players

Agree4 Disagree0

I wish people stop blaming wenger, if you remember wenger did well with david dean, so actually think about it before you blame wenger for it all, before dean left the board decided to make sure all transfers went via them, ivan who is supose to be the money man only seem to care about hanging out with the squad, enger is suopse to give him a list of players and he goes to buy them, but rather than do his job he rather comes out in public and says wenger does the buying, wenger seems to do it all at arsenal one man who does everything so ask this question, if wenger does the coaching and buying what use is ivan to the club? all ivan is doneiing is passing the buck onto wenger so he don't look bad, if you want arsenal to change instead of saying wengr out start saying ivan out dein in.

Agree7 Disagree3

Stop sticking up for Wenger even the Eds who support Arsenal are sick and tired of reading about "Don't blame Wenger" who are you going to blame the supporters? Get a life mate!

Agree5 Disagree3

Sam5555 I take it you only read the first 5 words, try reading more than the first 5 words next time

Agree2 Disagree2

Am with you tamikonel david dein used to go get the transfers done all ivan does is tells the press we have thos much to spend rather than helping spend getting the players

Agree1 Disagree0

'Just needs Wenger to approve it' well it ain't going to happen then is it. It will either be the wrong sort of player or too expensive!

Agree1 Disagree0

Unfortunately Wenger and Gazidis MUST take their fair share of the blame. This is not a problem which began over the last 2 months. This has been an endemic problem which has manifested itself over, at least, the last 5-6 transfer windows. It is commonly known to the sports press that Wenger is a ditherer and that is why many of the targets we were after (some of whom even sang our praises in anticipation of a move they must have thought was almost there) have subsequently gone elsewhere. So when the rumour states that Wenger's approval is needed before the deal is done, there is natural apprehension. Not because Wenger won't make a decision, but because he may take too long coming to that decision. To complain about that when the season has already started and the team has not improved at all is totally understandable and something that Wenger and Gazidis must have anticipated whilst they work '24/7' on getting their transfer targets.

Agree1 Disagree0

What a silly post, surely Wenger would approve the deal before it is made rather than approving a deal and then seek Wenger's approval.
I agree with the other posts about David Dein, since he had to leave we have not competed within the market

Agree0 Disagree0

When will the Board realise that AW is tactically inept. When he arrived he was blessed with an experienced squad that needed little or no coaching. Gradually the experienced players have gone and the younger players under Wenger need guidance but he does not have a clue and just waves his arms in the air at the referee when things go wrong. It was glaringly obvious to anybody who watched the debacle on
Saturday that we needed help in front of the back four and yet Frimpong just sat on the bench and he put an unfit Cazorla on instead. No idea and we have no hope whilst he stays in charge.
