Ed - do you know anything more about KJH at shalke? in the same day we have German media saying he will be staying put and some English sources, the Times for one, saying that we have started formal negotiations with him!

cheers, Andy

It's always good for the players agent to let it be known that their players are in demand....this puts them in a stronger position negotiation an extention or move.....would still find it hard to belelive they wiuld let him go while in the hat for the champions league... Although Inter was a reported destination last week.....but that could be from his agent!

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think he will come and why should he ? we are now known as a selling club.

it's clear that Arsenal are in the market for a striker and with news that apparently AC Milan have received a bid from an unnamed club for Pato, is there any chance of it working out here?

not saying he's the answer up front but just curious as to what the odds could be.

psychocyst.

im not sure but i think the unamed club is corinthians {Ed002's Note - It is and they have included options on two players as part of the deal.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I figured it odd that Galliani chose not name names, but yeah, Corinthians looks to be it.

good thing is that since AC look to sell Robinho too, maybe we can offer some of our wonderful striking options to them.

psychocyst.

Agree0 Disagree0

It seems that Pato is moving to Man City as a straight swap for Balotelli. I doubt anyone else will get a look in.

The Oracle

Agree0 Disagree0

The club is Corinthians who made a bid of around 12 million

Agree0 Disagree0

Not much of an Oracle...:-))

Agree0 Disagree0

Oracle, you don't know a thing...stop being wrong

Glad to see the British boys get new contracts. Except Ramsey. Should be Walcott instead. Anyway that's not what I came to say. I have a suggestion for those who organise the contracts at AFC.

From now on insert the following clause in EVERY contract:

One year extension after 'X' amount of games in final season.

That way we wouldn't have this situation with Theo, wouldn't of had it with RVP et al.

Yes they could still want to leave but this way we have a safety net where we can name a price as opposed to risk letting them leave on a free or having to accept a ridiculously low offer.

In this market, where Milner goes for 24m, Walcott is worth 30m easy. RVP was the best striker on the planet along with Falcao, worth easily 50m. Just look at Torres etc.

All I'm saying is it would give AFC the better hand and put us in the position to make even more money.

I just cannot fathom why RVP and Theo didn't sign new contracts even if they wanted to leave.

Theo could go for as little as about 6m this Jan or free in the summer but if he were to sign a 3 year deal he could go at the end of the season for £20m+ just hand in a transfer request it's simple!

Fair enough if you want to leave then leave but at least do the club one favour and sign a bloody contract before upping and leaving.

Metal Gooner {Ed025's Note - when a player is out of contract, he can sign for another club, and receive a massive signing on fee for himself...thats why mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres was a lot younger than RVP...

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres was/is A LOT rubbishter too...

By your logic Gary Hooper is worth as much... he's sooo much younger.

StEvE

Agree0 Disagree0

Walcott is never worth 30 mill the lad is to on and off. one game he looks ok with his pace then the next shocking, the trouble with Walcott, did you see that brill break through against reading the one on one he MISSED would henry nope. Walcott struggles everytime he comes up against a defender.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey goons stop squabbling - you can't half tell the school holidays have started

Agree0 Disagree0

Henry missed a very similar shot in the CL final and many others. He's a God but he's not perfect and neither's Theo but he's got the potential to be as good. The reason I don't think Theo has been this sensation we all wanted is because Wenger wanted him to be a complete footballer and play well into his thirties not another impact player looses his pace in his mid thirties and become a nobody i.e. Michael Owen. So he sacrifices the short term for the long term. Wenger's almost got the Theo puzzle all into place and the vultures are coming with their cheque books in hand wanting to rip another one of Wenger's masterpieces away from him. Our thanks to him is to sing get Wenger out. It makes you proud (NOT!!)

Agree0 Disagree0

Players don't want to put in transfer requests because they will lose their loyalty bonus if they do.
Players and agents control contracts, not clubs.
We had no chance of retaining RVP and Nasri and the others. Naive to think otherwise

Just the pen to paper from Jack has cheered me up. Flybo

Believable28 Unbelievable2

Nice to see our boy kissing the badge after signing. this club means something to jack. none of this 'pay me what im worth crap' more like 'i want to play for the arsenal, lets get this sorted out!' to have the best english talent commit to the club during turbulent times is a great feelin and a big step forward. kudos to the club, finally. COME ON THE ARSENAL!!!

hi edds while browsing on sporting life clockwatch came across this
Some transfer gossip now as Brad Smith claims: 'Various sources are claiming that Arsenal are set to pull of a sensational deal for Barcelona striker David Villa
time 1059 todays clockwatch sporting life
have heard anything eds {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

Believable17 Unbelievable27

We wont sign Villa, Alves, etc. Their wages are way too high & they are too old to pay a high fee for.

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm reading this could be more like Swansea getting him on loan...

Anyone else read that?

eds, i recently read some comments made by cavani's agent saying that cavani wants to move to the premier league and that arsenal and liverpool are the first to enquire, and that cavani has stated he would love to join either.
any truth to this?
Waq {Ed002's Note - NOne whatsoever. It was someone teasing the gullible LIverpool and Arsenal fans on Twitter.}

Believable7 Unbelievable30

No it wasnt teasing. there was an article in a south american side but still think its agent talk {Ed002's Note - It was teasing - Cavani's agent said nothing of the sort regardless of what you read on web sites or in newspapers. Are you going to believe me or them?}

Agree0 Disagree0

40m-50m.....200kper week.....won't happen in a million years.....maybe Chelsea should buy him...

Agree1 Disagree0

Lol... "Are you going to believe me or them?"

No offence but you Ed's on here haven't exactly proven you're "in the know" in the 2yrs I've been visiting here...

{Ed002's Note - That is fine with me as I am done with answering any of the Arsenal questions. Let me know when Cavani arrives.}

Agree1 Disagree0

That's nice let a few people ruin it for everyone! Not really a way to keep people visiting the site

Stoppila Sunzu has revealed that he will be travelling to England to sign a deal with English Premiership side Arsenal after the international friendly match against Tanzania at the weekend.

I will be travelling to England to sign a deal with Arsenal after the friendly game against Tanzania. As we speak, Mr Katumbi's personal consultant Salomon Eskadela is here in Zambia waiting to travel with me to England,¯ said Sunzu.

I don't know the details of the deal yet because I have not discussed with both Arsenal and TP Mazembe. However, I spoke to both Mr Katumbi and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger who assured me that I would not be going to London for trials but to discuss personal terms and possibly sign a contract.¯

According to the VERY reliable source Eurosport Germany Arsenal have started negotiations with Huntelaar. That's not all. Much more important ist the fact, that Walcott is really close to sign a new 5 year deal! :D The negotiations are looking good, are not finished yet but very advanced.
