This is where the "Bendtner to West Ham" story started, although the deal collapsed as Bendtner is not interested.

In your honest opinion Ed do you think Arsenal will sign a defender this Jan and if so who do you reckon {ed's note - yes I think they will, hard to say who though, Wenger had to settle for Squillaci in the summer, who was nowhere near first choice. It is very difficult to know who it will he will get now, he is so determined to stay within his valuations that it ends up scuppering a lot of moves.}

Diego Godin, Cristian Zapata and Simon Kjaer need to be seriously considered. All 3 will be top defenders for years to come. All 3 are internationals and fixed starters for top clubs.

In my opinion, what I hope happens:
Ciani 10m (big, strong defender, fantastic UCL campaign last year, rock at the back, speaks French so no adjustment. also not cup-tied)
Hazard 15m (He will finish out the season at Lille and join us in the summer)

I think arsenal should sign richards he is a good player and can play center and right back should cost no more than 8 million this will be a good signing i also think wenger should sign hazard asap because if he waits any longer teams will offer more money and he is going to be world class

Bonucci is a fixed starter for Juventus next to Chiellini. Ranocchia is bacically owned by Inter and will join thiem this month or in the summer. In fact, both of these facts have been know before last season even ended. Might want to do a bit of research before posting. What a waste of time this was!

Andrea Ranocchia and Leonardo Bonucci both of whom have been scouted for the last 18months, Bari sporting director Giorgio Perinetti said he expected a deal to be forth coming during this coming summer.
they look like two solids defenders, both 23 so they fit the mould and both over 6 foot.
come on wenger get the cheque book out and get these two before anyone else does. plus while your at it try and find replacements for sagna and clichy.

Arsenal have been offered Richard Dunne off Villa (Personally this would be a great signing) Villa are looking to recoup the transfer fee pasid for Darren bent without having to sell Downing and Young.
Arsene Wenger however is not going to sign a defender and will use Miguel as a back up (hence why he has been promoted to the 1st team). Wenger will wait until the Summer sus out the situation at Bolton bnecuase if they don't get European Football they will be forced to sell, Elmander & Cahill.
As for Oxdale Chamberlaine this looks like it is signed sealed and delivered i am hearing he has signed a 4 and a half eyar contract and will not go back to Southampton on loan, this will be sorted by Saturday

I say let him go, sure he may be a good player, but is FAR too injury prone for my liking. . anything over 15m is a no brainer really (especially for a guy who only plays half a season anyways)
