{Ed022's Note - Hi all. I just wanted to notify you all that there has been a pretty hefty update to the Player Profiles website. This update now allows you, the fans, to upload your own profiles on any player, in any league, in any position. So, now rather than seeing just my own opinion on a player, you can now see other fans' opinions also on those players, as well as dropping a comment and giving your own. This update has taken a fair bit of time and I'm hoping that you'll all use it to the full etc, and just to come over to the site and have a look. - www.player-profiles.co.uk - thanks all.}

Arsenal to sign kaka as a part of a swap deal for van persie
Believable12

HOPE SO! Even tho he's old and wages probably through the roof. Just to have a experienced legend on the team would be great!

Not happening. Kaka to Milan
Agree0

More rubbish
Agree0

If this is true it is very bad news as kaka is crap and well past his sell buy date.
Agree0

As if there wud b a swop for kaka.. top clubs dont do the nature of a straight swop.. why wud we want kaka when we hav wilshere, song and arteta.

Why, Diaby is better?
Agree0

I think he has already signed for PSG..
Dont quote me on that though ;)

wenger is working on a deal for m'baye niang. his 1st bid was rejected as we all know but as i have reported before he WILL join for £3.9 million.
milo will join for £2.5 million after the Olympics have finished.
emiliano viviano is wengers main goalkeeping target. he would cost around
kevin mirallas' future is unknown at Olympiakos so Wenger is waying up a move for the Belguim international.
This might suprise you or i might be accused of making this up but due to Spain's poor finanancial climate then wenger wants isco. True enough he would cost lots of money but wenger sees this as an oppurtunity for him to snatch a bargain.
Highly rated FC Basel Austrian cente back Alexsander Dragovic is a target for wenger but faces stiff competition from Inter Milan for his signature. He would cost around the £10 million mark. The reason he is a wenger target is he's a young promising player who can play both centre back and defensive midfield.

Just because Spain are in a mess financially doesn't mean the clubs are mate
Agree0
Disagree0
Most of the clubs are in huge debt mate. That's not news. However, just because they're in financial trouble doesn't mean they'll sell. When has that stopped Real Madrid?
Agree0
Disagree0
If Caen rejected 5-6 million for Niang then how do you expect us to get him for 3.9 million?
Agree0
Disagree0
Actually a lot of Spanish clubs are in massive debt. Malaga (where Isco plays) are apparently trying to sell off a bunch of players due to their debt.
Agree0
Disagree0
"True enough he would cost lots of money but wenger sees this as an oppurtunity for him to snatch a bargain." that makes sense
Agree0
Disagree0
You do know that Malaga is owned buoy the uber rich Qatari royal family right?
Agree0
Disagree0
Malaga is owned by mega rich Qatari fam, but that doesnt mean they cant own a company in debt
Agree0
Disagree0
Villareal has reported malaga to UEFA over nearly 4 million in unpaid fees for the Santi Cazorla transfer and an independent report has identified that from all the players 40% of their wages have not been paid yet.
not sure how uber rich they are.
Agree0
Disagree0
Yeah its true malaga are trying to sell of cazorla and isco and the owner is anoyed because he put 100mil+ into a team thatb has debt problems

Afellay apparently wants 80K a week?
Dont know about you guys, but I personally would not give him anything over 60K especially after how we have been complaining about our wage bill?
dan
Believable26
Unbelievable21
80k a week is nothing these days, this is why we are being left behind.
Agree0
Disagree0
I'd have to agree, maybe 60k with performance related bonuses? Such as a bonus if he plays a certain amount of games, or a contract clause where we review his deal at the end of the season line Arteta (the review, not the clause)
D
Agree0

More to the point he's not worth half that
Paul - Rochester

Podolski Is On 100
Agree0

Of course pay him 80k, he's a quality player. Arsenal's wage bill is so high because we pay fringe players too highly, not because we pay decent players well.
Agree0
Disagree0
Guys, 60k to 80k a week is nothing compared to what our rivals play their squad players...
What, he's going to leave Barca to earn as much as Djourou?
US Gooner
Agree0
Disagree0
So people are moaning about paying a player a salary to get him to the club?
Jeez guys, Diaby's on 60k+ pw.... he doesn't even know where his kit is it's been that long since he put it on
Agree0
Disagree0
Afellay would be a fringe player - there is a reason barca want him out
Agree0
Disagree0
Give him 50 or 60 with an improvement clause.
Agree0
Disagree0
80k is acceptable if he is a replacement for Walcott.. Just get Chamack, Park, Flabby etc off the 55k a week salary
Agree0
Disagree0
Barca want him out because they have Messi, Villa, Pedro, Alexis Sanchez, Iniesta and are apparently getting Neymar soon enough. Who do we have? He'd be a great signing for Arsenal.
Agree0
Disagree0
Prefer Theo on 80k
Agree0
Disagree0
Why would you pay chamack 60k a week
Agree0
Disagree0
Not a disaster when you consider the signing on fee. Think it will all balance off to a reasonable challenge.

The argument is that the fringe players are on too much so saying Djourou et al are on this much does not mean Afellay deserves 80k it just means Djourou does not deserve 60k.
I like Afellay but he has been injured for a while and has not had a good season with Barca, because of injury, or Euros.
Get him in though!
In Arsene I Trust.

Dear ed,
Friend of mine in Saudi Arabia tells me Park is linked with switch to Al Ain. Talks ongoing, but i think Park is included in South Korea Olympic team, so this one could drag on. Sure some gooners would like to see this happen though, if only to make space for new arrival(s).

More reports on Hulk to Arsenal coming out. Wenger looking at a possible swap deal involving Chamakh + cash, rumoured to be around £20m.
Believable20
Unbelievable44
Sure.
Agree0

This is probably the most ridiculous rumour ever. Why even bother to make up this kind of BS.
Agree0
Disagree0
Porto must value Chamakh at about 30 Million then
Agree0
Disagree0
No chance, plus he's not that good.
Agree0
Disagree0
Hulk to arsenal? think thers more chance him guin t city or chelsea
Agree0
Disagree0
Porto said they'd let Hulk go for around £30m to Chelsea, but they bought Hazard, and gave up their interest in Hulk. He has potential, and could play central.
Agree0
Disagree0
Anyone seen the pic of Hulk meeting with AVB in the hotel? IF and thats a big IF he is willing to move to spurs then he would definitely consider moving to Arsenal. Don't believe the rumours though. Hulk is more of an individual than a team player, wouldnt fit into Arsenal. then theres the fact that he will cost over 30m. a BIG obstacle.
Agree0
Disagree0
No chance, his wage demands are waaaay too high
Agree0
Disagree0
Cash plus chamakh for the incredible hulk not portos hulk I take it?
Paul - Rochester
Agree0
Disagree0
To be fair, he may mean The Incredible Hulk. Which would be more believable.
Agree0
Disagree0
Never gonna happen and wouldn't want him at Arsenal, massively over-rated player. And for someone who is nick-named "Hulk" he spends an awful lot of time on the ground feigning injury.
Agree0
Disagree0
Hulk wouldn't consider a move to Spurs, no Champions League football would be a step down from Porto who do have UCL this season. A move to Arsenal/Chelsea/United/City are the only ones he would consider.
Agree0

The only kind of team who want to buy him is the arabic one whose boss is super rich and love to smoke shisha after every game

nothing is changing at your club, still losing your better players and spending less on hopeful ones. Great resilience to get back to 3rd this season but, among many freak incidents, the final straw was the Fulop hat-trick on the last day sealing it by a point. You are in decline, simple as. By the way, Hulk to Spurs is very unrealistic unless he really wants to work with AVB on a team who have definitely improved over the past 4 years; a trophy, a CL 1/4 final and 4th, 5th, 4th is relative success, you guys need to re-build yet again to compete at the level some of you still think you are.
I know many of you deal in facts and reality and know you've been static for some time now. Good luck with the RVP debacle, too much player power but he is at the end of a deal nearly so fair enough compared to some down the road doing it half way through a contract!

19 Jul 2012 10:22:14
Arsenal have offered Theo Walcott another contract with improved terms the £80.000 p/w is the same but what has been improved are the percentage bonuses based on his performance over the next 2 years
Believable29
Unbelievable14
You play too much Fifa
Agree0
Disagree0
I hope Walcott re-signs he has proved to be a useful squad player and it would probably be good for him to remain under wengers tutelage.
Agree0
Disagree0
I'm split between wanting him to stay and sending him on his way. I don't rate him any higher than average, but in order to really support Ox, we need to bring him into the first team slowly, so having Walcott for a couple of seasons could be better in the long run. Ox will be a million times better than Walcott if his development goes to plan.

Ed what are the chances of signing Christen Eriksen¿ great player {Ed001's Note - the problem is that he doesn't want to move this year and he has openly said so, even his agent has come out and admitted that. I wouldn't rule out any chance of him moving to the Prem in the future, but I doubt it will be this summer. Though he would prefer a move to Spain, he might not have the option available to him when the time comes.}

Lewandowski would be a perfect replacement for Van Persie and at only 23 years of age would be a great signing.
Affelay or Nani would be good replacements for Walcott.
These signings would be positive replacements for Van Persie & Walcott.
Believable31
Unbelievable29
Good shout on the Walcott replacements, i think Nani would be great
two problems though
walcott will stay
Man U wont sell us Nani as the have Morals unlike us

Nani? Utd won't sell him.

Nani? Never in a million years would you see that muppet in an Arsenal shirt unless of course you beat or drugged him and dressed him yourself.
Chriss
Agree0

I would certainly take Nani as a replacement for Walcott. Perhaps we can add that as part of the deal with RVP to United. Also Lweandowski would be great.
BUT Affelay sucks and would do nothing in the prem.

So this is what passes as rumours now, some person's random thoughts on the team? Jesus, at least make up a rumour instead of just telling us who's better than who.
Agree0
Disagree0
Nani is too arrogant and still very inconsistent and he would slow down Arsenal's football. Not every good payer in the world is an Arsenal type of player.
Agree0
Disagree0
What do you mean slow down Arsenal football? Arsenal haven't played a counter attacking style majority of the season for several years now. If anything, Nani is just the type of player you want if you're looking to build up attacks quickly.

Kits
Forget the rumours about switching to Adidas. I have communicated directly with the Retail Manager at Arsenal (Nick) and he confirmed there is no truth in this whatsoever! I work for a Kit Supplier, trying to get Arsenal to have our range of sublimated kits - so forget the rumours!

Ed - with the news that steven n'zonzi has handed in a transfer request could you see arsenal being interested in him?we seemed to be linked with him a lot over the last couple of seasons. Can't say i rate the lad at all but im sure the fact that he would be a lot cheaper than m'vila would have wenger looking twice!
cheers, Andy {Ed002's Note - I would doubt it.}

Arsene Wenger is keen to bolster the defence ready for the new season and has made approaches for Toby Alderweireld (Ajax), Cheikh M'Bengue (Toulouse) and Leighton Baines (Everton).
Standard Liège's goalkeeper Sinan Bolat is another player that Wenger is looking to make an approach for.
It appears that a few players may move this summer and Wenger is ready to table bids for midfielders Maarten Martens (AZ) and Charles Kaboré (Marseille)
Sparta Prague's Léonard Kweuke is being lined up as a replacement for RVP and back up for Giroud.
Arsenal are in talks with Stade Rennais and Leeds about taking Wesley Said (Stade Rennais) and Monty Gimpel on trial before a possible move to London.
