maybe an ED will know what the current situation is with a defender named chygrynski (spelling) ?
I think i remember him playing for ukraine, but he is not in the team anymore? retired ? or perhaps injured?
I remember wishing arsenal had a player like him a few years ago...is he still around?
thanks {Ed002's Note - Chygrynskiy was at Barcelona and then moved to Shaktar but was injured a while back and out for a long time. He would be available but the only interest I know of comes from Napoli and that is unconfirmed. There was some talk about a possible move to Metalist Kharkiv before Christmas but that made little sense.}

Thanks 002. I will keep an eye out for his name next season to see whats happened to him since I last saw him. I remember him being a really dominant defender in the past.

Even at barca and on loan at river he was always injured and its stoped him developing. i was a big fan for a while he was intellegent and versatile. where as now id much prefer to develop miquel and bartley than waste time on chygrynski

Ed, have arsenal shown any interest in afellay or dzagouev?
{Ed002's Note - I think any move for Afellay is unlikely to succeed. As for Dzagoev, he has interested Chelsea in the past but Arsenal have shown a lot of interest this past year including sending a contingent to watch him play in Moscow back last summer. He will be available on a free transfer at the end of the year, not in the summer, if CSKA cannot strike a new deal. Now is an opportunity to speak with the players representatives to see if a deal could be put in place. It would take a hefty signing on fee but I undertand it is a viable option.}

Hi ed, when you say it is a viable option do you mean for arsenal i.e. arsenal would be willing to pay a hefty signing on fee?
Bedford Gooner {Ed002's Note - Yes, I mean a viable option for Arsenal. The situation is that CSKA want to sign him up for a new deal if not he becomes a free agent. Any signing on fee would be less than a transfer fee and Arsenal can talk to him and his representatives as of July 1 should they wish to.}

There both vastly overrated, especially afellay, hes s**t! atleast dzagoev is only 21.

Ed, he only have less than six month, so can we sign pre-agreement with him?dont slate me for asking, but when i play football manager, we can always sign a pre-agreement with a player who play in the club outside the country when he have less than sdx month.hehe
FlyingGunman {Ed002's Note - Yes, of course Dzagoev can sign a pre agreement after July 1.}

Dzagoev could bring the best out of arsharvin as well if he is still there

I keep hearing through a lot of different sources, that Arsenal, have reached an agreement for Mesut Ozil, really hope this is the marquee, signing Gazidid was talking about. irish gooner.

I dont meant to down grade arsenal. but Madrid are a far more ambitious and superior club. Sure his wages will be over 100k too.
Also he's had a phenomenal season. Clubs dont sell players who have had amazing seasons, especially the big clubs.
madrid will add modric and try to have their version of xavi iniesta.
If kaka does not leave i dont see ozil leaving.
Dont get yourself fooled. Arsenal might have inquired but thats about it.
Besides our target is gotze. if at all we do end up going for him next summer.

Would love it to be true but just can't see it unfortunately... fingers crossed though!
Agree0

Why would Ozil leave the newly crowned Spanish champions to come to us who will struggle to make the top 4. We can't keep our marquee players let alone sign of clubs. People need to wake up and realise that we are on a downward spiral with the current board.

Maybe if Modric does go to Madrid then Nuri Sahin might become available? Was a great player at Dortmund and with lack of game time may be looking to move
Gunner89 {Ed002's Note - Sahin has had injury problems this year but rumours do persist about his long term future. If he were to leave I would very much suspect a move to Italy (possibly with AC Milan) or a return to Germany (with Bayern Munich) would come before any thoughts of a move to England. Malaga also spoke to Madrid about the possibility of a loan and Galatasaray would like to take him to Turkey.}

Not going to happen. Your sources are mistaken

Why does everyone presume ozil is on mega wages! yes real madrid pay big money but ozil was playing for werder bremen before so the increase from there to what he is on now is probably not as big as we think. 100-120k a week which it looks like we are upping the cap too may imo be quite similar. cheers

I think the people who truely believe ozil is a target for arsenal this summer, need to leave their bedrooms more often.
Agree0

I just googled ozils wage, he is on 78k a week if you divide his supposed salary by 52, hardly groundbreaking if website is correct. surely we could and would better this if the board are finally waking up! he would be a real pre season buzz and a fantastic player if he joins!

I think Gazidis has a different view of marquee signings to most on this site. However I have to say buying a German international prolific goalscorer, the French golden boot and (hopefully) the future French international midfield enforcer, you have to say it has been an effective transfer window. We really have added quality and given ourselves depth.

ed what truth is there in the mesut ozil rumours? {Ed002's Note - I don't know what these rumours are, sorry. Perhaps something on Twitter? I don't see Oezil necessarily being available in the summer but there will be no shortage of interest from England and Italy if he is, not least Inter Milan who bid against Madrid to buy him originally, and Juventus. Whilst he had what was seen as a very good season last year, this season has been patchy at best with a pretty frustrated coach and time on the bench in the early part of the year. He has been back in Mourinho's good books toward the end of the season but they will likely clear a few from midfield this summer. Although Granero, Kaka, Diarra, Gago at al may be available, Real Madrid may listen to offers for Oezil in the region of 25M euros or so.
Why so few rumours about Dzagoev?}

Well said Capslock, it's not just about who you keep. Poeple just don't seem to be able to get their heads around this imple equation:
If you sell your best player, but bring in a BETTER player, then you have improved the team. Who cares if Song goes, or Theo, so long as we bring in someone better or as good?
Agree0

We must hold on to the players like rvp or wilshere, but although i like song and walcott they are easily replaceable. on the other hand there arent many players like ozil, he would be one of the greatest signings for arsenal in the last decade.

He won't leave a team that won the bbva for a team that cam e third 20 points behind the manchester teams he's just as likely to sign for tottenham

His agent has stated that this is not true, and the spurs move will carry on... TBH if he wanted to join spurs, let him. We dont want second hand spurs rubbish.

To be honest guys...this 'to hell with all connected to spurs' mantra is sometimes pretty pathetic
1. Verthongen is quality and even the bigger clubs would be happy to have him in his ranks (that includes Arsenal)
2. I'm sure your assesment also counts in Sol Cambpell for example?
Asyd
Agree0

Why then would other big clubs not be in for him? Also Sol was one of the best centre backs which we got on a free. They are incomparible. I think we went about it the right way. Have a go but not worth breaking the bank. Just promote Miquel he does not seem out of his depth.
In Arsene I Trust.

Wenger under pressure to break his future-football team building, and is buying players already at a high level.
Giroud
Podolski
M'vila
Possible back up for Sagna
And a super shock for everyone. Mesut Ozil (some will deny this, even the ed's) but Modric is going to fill this role and fit into the aging xabi alonso role in future seasons. expect Mario Goetze to hold out with Dortmund until january or next summer at least.
Believable23
Unbelievable16
No, xabi alonso is their deep lying playmaker/pivot, and oezil, who mou says is the best #10 in the world, plays just that, as a #10
mesut oezil is not playing for arsenal, why post such horses**t....

This was posted 10 hours before your post was posted.
Luka Modric's former Croatia team-mate Mate Bilic claims the Tottenham midfielder is close to moving to Spain amid speculation linking him with Real Madrid.
Does this mean the ozil rumour might have something init? Ed?
Danny H {Ed001's Note - it would be more likely that he would be seen as a replacement for Alonso, who is getting on a bit now. Oezil plays further forward than Modric does.}
quoting the ed's over alonso and modric at the same time as saying that they have it wrong about ozil.
not clever.

Arsenal are NOT signing Ozil. Could people stop posting these lies! You are making fools out of Arsenal fans by posting such far fetched s**t! And worst thing is in say 6 months time when we are in a bad run run people will slag of Wenger saying he should have signed Ozil when he had the chance when in fact he never had a chance!
Agree0
Disagree0
Ozil will sign, and as for the modric plays further back than ozil that is opinion, just because he does for tottenham does not mean he is not capable to play in a different role. so if you have been watching he has been often moved more attacking late on in croatia's game in which he's played better, as he has more freedom, less defensive responibility, and a much more pivotal role in creating chances.
wait and see.
