Rumour has it Arsenal are looking to recruit a defensive coach. Hope is true and c if Keown wants the job.

Rumour does not have it... The Daily Mirror printed it b/c Perry Groves said they need one, on Sky Sports News.

So that mirror tosser John cross writes a load of b****cks and people take it as gospel. won't happen wengers to far up his own backside to get one in when its painfully obvious he needs new ideas.

No defensive coach other than possibly Jesus Christ himself could teach Squillaci or Djourou how to defend anyway...

When he coached briefly back in 2006 we had a great defensive record....bring him in!

Although our training facilities are amongst the best in the world, I wish we could say the same in regards to our coaching staff.

Gerry Peyton was Former Republic of Ireland international that did'nt really have a career in english football, that ended his career in Japan where he mey Wenger. The guys been with us for over 9 yrs and never produced a decent Goal Keeper.

Hes supported by a guy called Tony Roberts whos claim to fame was playing for Dagenham & Redbridge until his career ended.

Summary.

For a World class team we have a severe shortage of quality coaches in our ranks.

Gooner4Life {Ed001's Note - there does seem to be a weakness in the coaching, defensively in particular. You never see any real positional ability being taught to the players over their time at the club.}

Either keown or bould.....i mean those two even....bould should have stepped up from coaching the kids by now, I think he has been there long enough and should have a more all round coaching ability. I really see bould doing for arsenal what wilkins did for chelsea, can see him as a great number 2 to Arsene.
We all know le prof is his own man but he REALLY needs someone to tell him this isnt working, especially the zonal defensive tactic, the players we have arent either fast enough or are switched on enough to carry it out. and whatever happened to jockeying?? i dont see that anywhere anymore.....just crap tackles flying in that miss ball and player or bloody injure someone....stay on your feet.

John Cross is close to Arsenal. I can see Wenger promoting Bould to the first team, but not until we have won a couple of games so it does not look like a panic move

I think wenger era should be ended and we should make anchelotti as new boss as he is free and we can,t get either mourinho or guardiola.anchelotti is best choice for AFC plz
