Arsenal will complete the 2 signings by the end of the week. Juan Manuel Vargas and Lukas Podolski. Wenger feels vargas will be a good utility player. He can play lb,lw and in mifield.

Rather see KIeran Ricahrdson - been on fire for Sunderland for the last year or so and gone under everyones radar - Maybe shouldn't have got rid of that Larsson bloke as well!

Read somewhere that Liverpool are planning on getting Podolski due to Suarez#s ban - any truth in this Eds?

If the asking price is 12.5mil their will be a few clubs in for him {Ed002's Note - Arsenal, Lazio, Lokomotiv Moscow, Schalke, Anzhi and Zenit have all expressed an interest.}

As soon as Anzhi show an interest a player is suddenly going to cost more. Chelsea and City all over again, without a shadow Arsenal wouldn't touch a player that over priced

Podolski to be a Gunner, in late January swoop. Wayne bridge in six month loan deal.

I would really like this to happen but still cant see it before summer. wenger has made 'squad too big' comments recently AND we have signed Henry, so its hard to see Podolski coming in without someone going out. Chamakh going to ACN makes it hard to sell him, and i doubt we would do another Lassana Diarra and sell Park so soon, particularly after Wenger promised more 1st team opportunities for him. so I think AW will worry too much about jeopardising other people's places to sign another striker. really hope I am wrong though!

I think the Podolski deal will go through,because we all know that Henry is there as emergency cover,and if RVP gets injured we have no real quality cover.Henry will only be a 40-60 minute player when he is match fit.I'm sure it was a post on this site last August that mentioned Wenger had made an enquiry about Podolski after Nasri and Fabregas had left,but by that time it was too late.As for Wayne Bridge,no thanks.

Fc Cologne have put a price of £12.5m on podolski, hopefully wenger signs him and a full back on loan.. I have also heard that we could be looking at huntelaar(spelling)

apparently at 7:00 this morning wenger told his cheif of scouts to submit a 18m bid for podolski.

I hope so but with all the papers saying we are going in with a bid of 10 mill I can't help thinking that Wenger will try and get him on the cheap and when he does this we allways lose out.

Apparently Podolski has fallen out with FC Koln officials and they are looking 12 million for him. Cant see Wenger starting with a bid of 18 million. He always starts low and trys to keep it as low as possible. I usually dont believe what papers put but 4 papers have said we are bidding 10 million so there must be some truth some where.

I'm sure the Chief Executive would place the bid not the scouts but call me old fashioned
