Hi edo1, can you please tell me the players that we are interested in, for the summer. A reply would be great, thanks! {Ed001's Note - I really don't know, I was so busy trying to find out why Bould was unsure of his position for next season, whether that meant Arsene would be going too, or if they had fallen out or it was some kind of reshuffle, that I haven't even asked about transfers.}

'All rumours linking me with Manchester Untied are false, I will not join Manchester United. '

-Cesc Fabregas

Apparently, this is what he has recently said on a Catalan radio station.

May be clutching at straws, however, when I point out that he didn't mention Arsenal.

Believable73 Unbelievable15

Cesc would never in his right mind THINK of going to United after the wrath RVP faced. Cesc loves the club and the fans too much to do that.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather we didn't sign him and he stayed at Barca than see him running about in a United shirt!

Mike

Agree2 Disagree0

I understand that Arsenal have a right of first refusal on Cesc. That means, if Barca ever want to sell, Arsenal get first shot at matching any fee offered and bringing him back to Arsenal. However, if Barca wanted to sell, and Arsenal did not want to exercise its right (either because Cesc doesn't fit into current midfield needs, or because fee too big) Cesc would move on elsewhere. And it really could be to Man Utd. , much as I hate to say it (if I was a Man Utd. fan, I'd think he'd be perfect and fill a real need). But if that happens, it will be because Arsenal was willing to let it -- and Cesc really wouldn't be to blame. It would be a case of Barca wanting to move him on and Arsenal not valuing him enough to bring him back. Still, seeing him play for another team in the Prem would hurt way worse than RVP, Nasri, Cole, etc. and would be held against club management I think.

Spanish journalist Alex Torres was on a web site today. He was asked about the furture of David Villa.
He replied that 'he will be coming to england' and also claimed that Villa has a pre contract agreement with arsenal, which he has presented to the barca board.

Believable55 Unbelievable30

Is that not illegal?

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal can't talk to him until they've had a fee accepted surely?

Agree1 Disagree0

This was actually in an interview broadcast on a web site radio

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jun 2013 22:01:05
No the don't have to a fee accepted just permission

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal had permission back in January.

The deal almost went ahead back then but for the FCB coaching staff putting paid to the move.

So effectively the "agreement" has it happened, happened in Jan, for Summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

From what I've read, Torres said Villa "may" have an agreement. I can't see Villa coming to Arsenal. He's 30, highly injury prone and not really the player he was say 4-5 years ago. He's still got some skill and an eye for gold but for 10-12 million plus wages, it would be ridiculous to sign him now.

Ross

Agree0 Disagree1

David villa is to old for a £10 million transfer.

Agree0 Disagree1

How is villa too old for a 10 million transfer when we paid that amount for arteta when he was almost 30? if we want quality you pay decent money

Agree1 Disagree0

Players at 30 plus are more pron to injury, but I would still like him here.
maybe we might sign two strikers.

Can someone please explain how it is Monaco have been able to complete a number of transfers already, including Falcao, when the season is not yet over for them?

Agree0 Disagree0

You can sign players whenever you want. They can only join once the window opens.

read on a few sights today that we have had our offer of £22 million accepted by fiorentina for jovetic as juve have failed to push their offer of 25 through.
not sure how accurate these are because they have come from unreliable sources but just thought I would share this and see if any of you guys knew any different

Believable28 Unbelievable53

Could have something to it, but the sources as you said, are very unreliable.

Clement Grenier will be an Arsenal player within weeks.

ASEG

Believable75 Unbelievable22

Excellent player still very young him working under the wing of santi frightening to think of him in 3 years time

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes now we can win the league with this world class signing, oh wait nevermind

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I reckon you might be right. I believe it was a toss up between Arsenal and Liverpool but he seems to have a hard on for The Emirates going by his quotes in the press. Don't know much about him. Does anyone know what he is like?

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, he has drawn comparisons to Juninho, so that can't be a bad thing.

Also to the second response; I'm going to guess that you've never seen him play, and you are just judging him based on the fact that he is French and you've never heard of him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Some people such as the second post need to realise that its not a hefty transfer fee that make a good player.

Agree1 Disagree0

He is quite an exciting prospect, yet I can't help but think we already have an exhaustive list of midfielders.

I'm also unsure as to whether its worth us signing someone such as Jovetic. Yes, he is a quality player, but we have Podolski, Giroud, Walcott and plenty of VERY promising, upcoming players in our youth team.

I believe we need someone such as Pogba or Wanyama to dominate that DM role, allowing Wilshere/Arteta to be more creative. As well as 2 commanding defenders e. g. Hummels (unlikely), Piszczek, etc.

ASEG

Agree0 Disagree0

Ted
I did a double take re your comparison to Juninho. Juninho was 5ft 5 and Grenier is 6ft 1.

Agree0 Disagree0

The comparison is regarding his playing ability, rather than his physical presence.

Agree1 Disagree0

The comparison is to Juninho Pernambucano, formerly of Lyon. Not Juninho Paulista, formerly of Middlesbrough! The comparison is made due to their dead ball prowess.

Agree1 Disagree0

Good player in 3 years time and by then his contract will have run down and after being moulded by Arsenal some club with silly money will come in for him. What about buying a ready made top player?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wrong juninho mate!

I've been told that Zubizaretta was a bit loose tongued at a dinner following the abidal news on Thursday. Basically said that barca have been quietly trying to make cesc available but rumours have already surfaced. Arsenal Bayern and both Manc clubs are aware. Arsenals take is currently not interested at 35m as the club would rather take the 40% they stand to receive from any transfer and invest it on the players identified as summer targets. Barca don't want a public auction as cesc is popular in Catalonia and the release of abidal and perceived defensive frailties has generated some negativity so would prefer a quiet deal to be agreed.
Only other arsenal tidbit is that vermaelen and koscielny are nowhere near top of their list to replace puyol/abidal.
The source of this info has about a 50% success rate - got Monreal and Cazorla very early but also told me Nicolas N'Koulou was on his way to the emirates when in fact it was Mertesacker.

Believable26 Unbelievable23

Considering we're not interested at 35m, i'm assuming we would be interested in signing on a lower fee?
would you rather have Cesc back for 25-30m or that money spent elsewhere?

PdotY

Agree0 Disagree0

AW still won't buy at 30m. At 25m, excellent.

Lanz

Agree0 Disagree0

On second thoughts, since they will get 21m while we get 14m if they sell at 35m, they can as well just sell to us at 21m! This I I think may eventually be the case as I believe Cesc will refuse to go to the Manc clubs. Bayern, maybe. Either way, we win.

Agree1 Disagree0

We only get 40% of the profit of Cesc's sale. So barca would have to sell him for a shed load for us to get 14 mill.

Question for ed01.
Ed please can u tell me will usmanov make a takeover bid this summer?i would really appreciate your reply. thanx {Ed001's Note - I think so yes.}

Believable33 Unbelievable11

Thank god silent stan can f**k off

Not so sure. Why has it taken him this long to make such a move?

Ain't going to happen!

Why would Kroenke sell to Usmanov - it's not how he operates.

Agree0 Disagree0

Usmanov is not serious. If he was, he would have taken an action before the end of the season. By now, we would be buying like Monaco or PSG. Is it when all the transfers are all completed that he will buy-out Stan? I think its largely dreams and wishes.

Lanz
.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never say never - he has an awful lot of money in the club.

maybe stan will walk away with a massive profit.

buenos dias

i posted a couple weeks ago we had reps in dortmund for 1 of their players.

we are trying ti hi-jack a deal for lewandowski.

i do not believe he will sign for us but a real effort is being made to get him to the emirates.

malaga gooner

Believable13 Unbelievable18

Oh look it's Malaga Gooner, that's clearly not going to happen then!

Agree2 Disagree1

Malaga, you've already admitted you have no 'sources' so why still make up this b/s? Every transfer window people who don't know what you're like get false hope because of your made up, attention seeking posts under which ever name you choose to use that day.

Please stop it. It's not rumours, it's not banter, it's your imagination.

Agree2 Disagree1

Wenger likes Dortmund's Gundogan, but saying that I bet he likes Messi as well.

Agree2 Disagree0

Your not wrong that arsenal have looked at him but they were actually there to look at 2 players, Lukasz Piszczek and Ilkay Gündogan.

Agree1 Disagree0

They may be, but I doubt it will happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Malaga! Missed you like a hole in the head.
He's got a better chance of playing at Highbury.

I would love to see David Villa in an Arsenal shirt.
Ed, you think we'll get him?
And what do you rate these players coming in: Gonalons, Capoue, Wanyama, Kondogbia, and Pogba? (1-10)

Thanks! {Ed029's Note - This was on the Liverpool page - Arsenal are certainly interested in David Villa but I am not aware of any agreement at this time and Liverpool may well be interested in him as a replacement for someone leaving. Spurs is another possibility. Given Villa has never wanted to play outside of Spain, is 30+ and no doubt be expensive in terms of insurance and wages, I am not so sure it would be a great move by any EPL club. Both he and Sanchez will be sacrificed by Barcelona.}
