usmanov to spend 450m to buy arsenal remaining shares with a signed clause saying 460m to spend clearing debts and the emirates mortgag upon takeover.

That would do me then arsenal can lower season ticket prices and buy buy buy every summer.

I thought arsenal had just bought their way out of debt? I thought we were the one of the few debt free clubs? can someone confirm what debt we owe?

Agree1 Disagree0

We have the second highest debt in the league behind Man Utd.

Agree1 Disagree0

There's a diffrence between debt and finishin the financial year in profit I belive there's only 2 teams in the EPL debt free Swansea and Norwich city.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes we have debt but its not classed as a loss making debt as its structured against the stadium. I believe this year the payments have dropped and with new commercial deals and revenue streams the debt now is very manageable and indeed decreasing every by about 30M. Plus we have a cash surplus of over 100M in the bank. We have just been ranked the 4th richest club in the world.
Onto Usmanov buying the remaining shares for 450M if we're valued at 1billion I can't see Kroneke selling for at least 650-700M. With the premier league FFP and Uefa FFP coming in we can't go out spending casts amount of money with brining it in.

We are in massive debt but we are in profit each year and the debt is clearing fast. We should be debt free within a few seasons I believe. It is only there because of the stadium.

Agree0 Disagree0

2031 the loan runs out

we can't get out of the loan agreement there would be huge penalty's.

as long as the attendance are over 48k that is enough money to cover the stadium debt.

the stadium debt is not an issue with the finances at the club.

the sponsorship deals with nike and the emirates were part of the deal to build the stadium.

the new sponsorship deal do not have to go towards the stadium debt.

this is why we have huge amount of money come the summer.

i expect over 100mill to be spent.

malaga gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Everything Malaga Gooner has written about debt is totally wrong.

All debt is one thing we have a loan secured against stadium like a mortgage and the interest is re structured every year and is not due to run until 2031 it changes every year with re structuring 5 to 7 years max.

Just enough time for malaga's balls to drop

Agree0 Disagree0

Malaga got to respect your persistence in posting over the top optimistic bs year after year, season after season :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate financial rules are taking place we can't "buy buy buy" each year

Agree0 Disagree0

The stadiums capacity is being increased by 10, 500 this summer by adding extra seating in the clock and north. If they wanted too they can add an extra 20,000 by adding 10,000 each to the east and west, we don't need Usmanov once FFP comes in

Just read that when Wengers contract expires next summer we have lined up current Germany manager Joachim Low as his replacement. What are people's thoughts on this?

Would be happy with either low or klopp

Agree0 Disagree0

He will certainly prolong his contract!:) would be the best thing that can happen to us!

Would maybe be able to persuade part of the influx of young german talent to join us that seem's to be emerging at the moment.

Would be great i'd love to see that level of consistency and free flowing football however it won't happen, Wenger will prolong his contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope it's true. He's. great manager

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love it. Low is a good manager. Plus he know german young talent and I feel right now that is a better place to look rather than france

Wenger will stay! And that's the best thing for Arsenal!:)

AustrianGunner

Agree0 Disagree2

Good manager and will atract very good german players

Agree0 Disagree0

Very inexperienced at club level, I would urge caution with this one for now.

Agree0 Disagree0

That would be great

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds good but won't happen.

Dragan Stojkovic will come in as AW's #2 at some point and then take over as Manager once AW leaves.

Agree0 Disagree0

Believe nothing the Metro says.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger cannot be offered a new contract if we fail to win a trophy again next season.
i also feel wenger will not except a new contract if he fails again I think he will feel it is time for a new manager, but I do believe wenger will blow the doo this summer as a swong song and probably win one of the big ones then be offered a new 3yr contract

Try to get off the fence FCS! Wenger will stay as long as he continues to do the board's bidding. If he finally tires of this then the French international team job would be next followed by a lucrative stint at Real or PSG to ease his retirement finances. Whoever we get to replace him (and I hope it happens sooner than later) should demand a clause in their contract specifiying player purchase finances. That will be the sticking point whoever the fans say they'd like as the next manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem is Wenger is irreplaceable the first man to be appointed after Wenger will be gone before the 3 year mark.

Dragovic could be a fantastic signing he's 22 years old and has performed in Europe (Europa League), Has 14 apps for Austria. He could be a great addition he's big and physical but also reads the game well and with Mertesacker not being able to play every week in the 2014/15 season he could be an ideal replacement and IMO could be EASILY better than him. I've been saying for a while that we should sign him he really is a world class talent.

Believable33 Unbelievable16

He has hampions league expirience as well and why should merte not play each game two seasons from now??

Agree0 Disagree0

Mertesacker not being able to play every week? why he has been our best defender by a mile for the past for the past two season - 66 appearances! took RVP about 5yrs to have that many and Rosicky and let's not forget diaby
