Does anyone know how many fans did not renew their season ticket

Believable7 Unbelievable12

Too many.

{Ed022's Note - The problem with "protests" like this where fans voice there displeasure by not taking up the season ticket doesn't work as there is ALWAYS 1000s of people who have been on the waiting list who WILL. Arsenal stick get £1000 p/person average and rake it in.}

Agree0 Disagree0

The papers where saying over 10000. But there is over 40000 waiting to snap them up. So there no trouble there

{Ed022's Note - Exactly my point. Thats the problem. It doesn't affect the people the protest is aimed at. The board. It just cuts off your nose to spite your face. The average fan misses out in frustration whilst the board get richer...}

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a no win situation for a fan because if in 2 years time we turn around our fortunes and actually start winning things again, the fans who give up their ticket will have to be onthe waiting list again.

Agree0 Disagree0

There will always be some fans not renewing their season tickets, mainly currently for financial reasons. I cant seriously believe any committed Arsenal fan would give their seat up as a form of protest. Last season we faired well in all four competitions.

Agree0 Disagree0

If the sun newspaper told you prince Charles was going to play left back for us next year would you believe it.....Most of what they write is untrue, how would they get that kind of information. There must be certain amount of people that give their season tickets back most due to financial reasons, and with 30,000 people on the waiting list its not worth making a song and dance about it.A couple of major signings and watch the media change their tune.WEgetting writen off every year.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully enough to allow me to get 1 this year or next support your team through thick and thin
Tim Taylor

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish I could afford a season ticket but i used to go week in week out and since the emirates move I have been priced out of my pride and joy. The banding policy is unfair why should I pay extra to see AFC and QPR lock horns £60 for a AA match? I was a Junior Gunner all through my childhood and then a Silver member and I have renouced that now because I dont believe the average supporter should have to pay for the privilage of buying a ticket. The fairest way to sell tickets is ONE price for all, Season Ticks and Bond Holders first family enclosure next then general, no Gold, Silver, Red then General. We are being squeezed for every penny and we see no return of our input. Black Scarf Movement next year will make this point.

North London Elite

Agree0 Disagree0

I spent 6 years on the waiting list to get mine, would have been 5 but there were no tickets downstairs and I was allowed to defer for a year. Other friends have spent as little as 2 years on the waiting list, being offered their tickets well before me. During that time I was repeatedly offered club level tickets, so I'm guessing the turnover on those is pretty high.
Not sure I beleive the waiting list is 30,000 - 40,000 anymore. And the list will include many people who have changed address, moved out of London, can't actually afford it, or simply no longer want tickets.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have been on the ticket list for about 5 years. I was offered a ticket 2 years ago and turned it down. I was at 13k on the list a few months back. It all seems a bit random

Agree0 Disagree0

I got offered a season ticket when we moved to the emirates, after being on the list whilst @ highbury. Didnt take up the offer because I had moved away from London, but, to be honest, it costs too much anyway. Travel/food bla bla - in a year, it all adds up. Fair play to those that do it.

d

Agree0 Disagree0

We did not fare well in all 4 competitions, are you blind In c/l we started well, then wenger screwed up by changing the team, we were then hammered by teams we had beaten easily, meaning that because of wenger we ended up playing Barcelona who we are so far behind it was embarrasing. In the league we flattered to decieve and ended up in the correct place, the league does not lie over the whole season. The Carling cup final was an abject display - being beaten by a woefull relegated team in Birmingham. Why did we try to get Seb Larson back when he is nowhere near good enough for us. Wake up How much did it cost the club to go out of c/l when we did, when if we had avoided Barca and got thru the next round - can any one tell me - millions i bet.

Agree0 Disagree0

You're all wrong. As of the AST meeting a week & a half ago, ALL ST's have been snapped up.

AST don't lie about things like this as they're trying to smoke out the Arsenal board's lies.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed. i know there are many people on the waiting list ready to take up chance of a season ticket and that is good for the club as they pocket the money. But the problem is the fans who take them get bored after a year and flog the tickets to mates down the pub etc and the atmosphere at games becomes worse to the point where they spend more time taking photos and texting on their phones than getting behind the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jul 2011 23:47:26
This isn't meant in a bad or condescending way, Ed, and I trust your judgement entirely but can we rely on your words, and where do you get your info? I mainly refer to the below news where you stated that we could 'expect another bid' for Jagielka in the next few days. As I've said, no disrespect or anything, I just want to make sure you aren't another Dublin Gooner. Or, as the general public call them, phoney.

{Ed022's Note - I very much doubt Wenger will bid £10m for Jags especially as we all know it will take about £14m plus to snare him. I therefore reckon we will bid again and given that the new season is 3wks away I reckon it'll be soon. I also think the bid will be around the £13-14m mark. Possibly with a player thrown in (PREFERABLY SQUILLACI) On this occasion it is my personal opinion.}

Believable10 Unbelievable7

Lol funny post, what are your sources? no one on this site has any real sources you rely on Internet blogs and newspapers my best mate is at the Academy at Hale End and I told you what he heard, not a transfer rumour it was a rumour from the youngsters, and you all looked down your footybunker and goal.com noses at me. Ed is prob the most reliable source here people like Dublin Gooner are the same as every1 else here no more in the no then an internet whizzkid. I found out that we didn't actually land on the moon, the other day on the internet, Dont mean it's true. Face it AFC is the most secretive club going infact only Man U are in our league when it comes to blackouts.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jul 2011 23:42:24
for heavens sake.i thought the board said they would insist on wenger spending money...i cant see anymore signings personally, i would love at least 5 but its not guna happen.
and 10mil for jagkielka...hes not even 6 foot.i mean come on wenger we let in more set goals last term than any other team in the leauge because of our small weak defence, get samba in and enrique
stevie nic

{Ed022's Note - What is the fascination with the 6ft barrier? I will again point you in the direction of Thomas Vermaelen who is ONLY just 6ft (with strong rumours he is actually 5ft 11) and he still manages to be our best defender by a country mile...}

Believable6 Unbelievable7

Oi did you know djourou is 6ft 4?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes i knew djourou was 6'4" and he is still carp...always has been and always will be.we need world class defenders.yes tv is our best defender and under 6' but he is not as good as kompany or terry or ferdinand or samba or vedic...he should be our number 2 CB and buy a world class defender who will help us at set pieces and be our number 1...samba is that man

Agree0 Disagree0

Samba is better than Thomas Vermaelen? Not quite sure what planet your on mate, and cant imagine what lack of knowledge you have that would make you think that Samba would be our man over Cahill or Jagielka. Sure he's big, sure he's black but he is simply not good enough to start at arsenal let alone be the CB that sorts out our defence. He can continue to be the commanding CB at a club like Blackburn (who barely stayed up last season) .

Agree0 Disagree0

How's the fact that he's black matter? Pretty retarded comment.

Reasons we are weak.

1) No imposing scary defender that can go toe to toe with the likes of Drogba.

2) Aside from Vermaelen our other CB's are extremely error prone.

3) Height does matter.. and although Djourou is tall and can head okay he is one of the aforementioned error prone players rendering him not good enough.

4) Aside from Vermaelen none of our defenders are tough.

5) Aside from Vermaelen none of our defenders have any leadership qualities.. something all defenders should have.

6) All of our defenders aside from Vermaelen are too 'nice' on the pitch.

Chris Samba would solve all of the above add to the fact that he has significant EPL experience.

In saying that I'm not mark for him personally there are other players I'd rather.. Sakho, Subotic, Lucio for example but there is no doubt that even if we signed Samba we would still need another player equal to or better than him as the enemy of our squad will always be injuries.

Happens every year and there isn't a player even close to be going enough to replace them. Prime examples are RVP and Vermaelen... Koscielny/Djourou and Bendtner aren't in the same league as those players.

I also understand the 'want' for a big name big money signing but that is not what we 'need', what we need is some finished articles that CAN do their job.

Samba is one of those options.. he's quick, scary, strong, can head, not error prone. Exactly what we lack

Could be mugging myself right off here, but going to take a chance on being first in on this if it's true. According to what I've heard we've just signed Cahill. No news on fee.

AB68

{Ed022's Note - You didn't want to say where or who you heard this from? Got to say I havent heard anything at all and usually you'd hear a fee has been agreed or a medical is due to take place etc but it has gone cold. From my sauces (BBQ this time) we have as yet to even make a bid...}

Believable5 Unbelievable9

Arsenal never disclose fee....always reported undisclosed fee....the Bergkamp deal put an end to that....fact.

Edd barca have signed Sanchez for 23mil according to sky spurts. Is it really 23mil thought if wud be 40mil

{Ed022's Note - Sky Spurts? Is that a credible source? I wouldnt bank on it...}

Believable4 Unbelievable3

I think it rises to 33m.

{Ed022's Note - Is that on Sky Spurts as well...?}

Agree0 Disagree0

It's been confirmed by Barcelona on twitter

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive read the figure was 26m, rising a further 11.5m in add ons over the next few seasons. If these numbers are true I find it even more ridiculous they would only offer £27m for Cesc and go about insulting our club when we refuse.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurts .. Really? I think he may be getting confused with :/
When the spelling is that bad you eds should just not post them and save your own time.

Agree0 Disagree0

Barcelona have agreed to pay an initial 26million with an additional 11.5million in add-ons

The price of English players is killing the transfer market. I mean, £17m for Cahill opposed to £8-£12m for the man who kept Blackburn up last season (Chris Samba). And don't even get me started on messrs Henderson, Carroll, Jones, Young and Downing. If the likes of Juan Mata, Arturo Vidal and Marek Hamsik (all better players than the ones mentioned above) were English and played in the Premier League, they'd all be worth £20-£30m above normal asking price. Ridiculous.

Hi Ed, hope you're staying cool in the summer heat..
I was wondering, out of Samba, Cahill, Jagielka, Mertesacker, or a mystery CB that we don't know about, which one (or two lol) do you see us signing?
If it is not too strenuous, I would also be interested to know if you have any updates on the Fabregas and Nasri situation, as well as your insight into what will happen with Mata and, my boy, Karim Benzema. Thanks a million Ed.
Respect Man,

{Ed022's Note - The July rain is keeping me cool in this "heat". Onto your questions...Samba has always been a back up if the main targets Jagielka and Cahill don't come off. Jags is rated higher than Cahill by Wenger and I expect Jags or Cahill to arrive (if the price is right) Samba will be an August signing if AW is getting desperate. Mertesacker will be a long shot and I don't expect him in as AW is looking for EPL experience. I feel Nasri and Fabregas situations will dictate any "flair" signings such as Mata. Expect one of Fab or Nasri to go. Most probably Cesc. AW will look to sign Mata or Gourcuff as a placating signing. Your mate Karim will also depend on signings to Madrid. If, Neymar and or Tevez sign then he will be shipped out. AW is a massive fan but couldn't afford to sign him when Madrid snapped him up for £23m. Hope that helps?}

Believable13 Unbelievable0

Madrid paid £35 million for Benzema

{Ed022's Note - ACTUALLY It was 35m euros back in 2009 so with the exchange rate back then it was about £32m. I got my 3 and 2 the wrong way around. We'l call it a draw...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep, sounds good to me.. We have a very, very good team that's jst incomplete.. we just need a few tweaks and we're in business.. I would be happy with either Jagielka, Cahill, or Samba really, I think it's more our defensive mindset that has to change, we MUST defend as a team, espeecially on set pieces, it was just embarassing at some points last year

Arsenal are going to make a shock move taarbart of qpr , he wants to stay in the prem but a french team have made a £12 million bid for him and it has been accepted

{Ed022's Note - Newly financially backed PSG have made a £12m and offered him very good wages. As far as I am aware Arsenal will not match £12m so I expect him to go to PSG.}

Believable7 Unbelievable7

He isnt worth 12mil, and wouldnt det in our team

Very suprised shaqiri hasn't been mentioned too much around here? Had a fantastic u21 competition, along with mata Technically very good and reports are fc basle will accept bids of just under 10 million? {Ed022's Note - Wenger is also a huge admirer. Spurs were sniffing around recently but yes, it is surprising that there hasnt been much interest as he clearly is a good player. Another Swiss player who rarely gets a mention is Tranquillo Barnetta is another good player as he showed against England. Although I think I would look good playing against England sometimes...}

Believable10 Unbelievable4

Not much interest from the media, doesnt mean not much interest from wenger.

barclays premier league news:arsenal bidding both Marek Hamsik and Ezekial Lavezzi both of Napoli and juan mata close to signing.

Believable9 Unbelievable12

Pep already said they have money put aside for cesc so we may still lose him :(

nasri will sign 4 year deal in next few days - as he promised a top qulaity striker will be coming in-believed to be benzema. footybunker-good sources?

Believable18 Unbelievable19

OMG I hope to God you are right I have been saying for a while how fluidly Benzema would fit in with our style of play and he would allow RVP to play a "Wayne Rooney" role, linking the midfield to attack. Good Stuff,

This is from a school friend who is a FIFA Agent: The Mister X the Italian media are talking about, going to Milan, is none other then Samir Nasri Also, considering that gets done, Arsenal Will buy Mata, and have already reached an agreement with Valencia, pending the Nasri deal goes on.
The Ribery thing is bullocks...

Peruvian Gooner

Believable9 Unbelievable17

Your talkin rubbish
BD

Agree0 Disagree0

So your Friend in School works for FIFA? I wouldnt of minded that kind of work experience .... Totally agree the Ribery stuff is Rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal are considering a bid for birmingams scott dann after they are frustrated about the price tag on gary cahill man u have givin up hope on samir nasri to the manager has said that he is not that urgent to get a new left back as he has many replacements as thomas vermalen and darren gibbs the manager has also hinted jenkinson could play first team so bacary sagna could lose his place
and arsenl are closing in on juan mata but thet still havent give up on real madrid striker karim benzema

Agree0 Disagree0

We wont sign mata unless nasri goes.. if he stays then he will slot into cesc position.. robin will be moved to the left, theo down the middle and gervinho out on the right.

wenger is a fan of melo and with juventus looking to offload he may be signed pure and simply as someone who will sit infront of the back 4.

finally, theres a 99% chance of a cb being signed, wenger is not willing to pay the 17m for cahill and is looking for a cheaper option. from what ive gathered he wants a proven prem player hence the jagielka bid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi That sounds great Id also be interested to know how you calculated the 99%....do you have a formula for it that you could give me?

{Ed022's Note - Guess + the media x 9.9 = 99%}

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jul 2011 15:58:36
I don't understand why Wenger would be willing to pay £12/£14m for youngsters who aren't proven but not £20+ for world cup winners ........

Believable22 Unbelievable2

Because Wenger sees no value in paying over the odds for players. He likes to find the likes of Vieira for £3.5m, Vermaelen for £10m, etc... Would you prefer him to buy Henderson £20m, Carroll £35m? Although I must admit I would like to see Cahill £17m, Samba £12m, Mata £20m & Enrique £10m

Agree0 Disagree0

We need to buy players who will help Arsenal win things and help improve the squad. We need an experienced CB and if the rumours are true Metersacker would be a great buy. Tall, commanding and proven international. Get Cahill as well and 3 quality CBs we might just prove a few people wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

How come everyone belives the rubbish they read in papers and think they are facts. Then they have a go at the club quoting the paper rubbish.

Agree0 Disagree0

Although i get what your saying, look at what cesc has acheived

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry which one of the plays you have said here have won the world cup??

Agree0 Disagree0

Mertasaker would be crap in the premiership. Please do not sign him He is so slow and cumbersome, all this from someone who follows German football closely. He was described as a German Igors Stepanovs - scary

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't think anyone is asking Wenger to buy players like Henderson and Carroll, who are both largely unproven and few would argue Liverpool paid way over the odds for. Many fans would just like to see Wenger make moves for more established players than he has been doing considering many of these young, promising players he's put his faith in these last few years haven't amounted ot much. Its a fantastic managerial talent to be able to find the real gems at close to nothing, but its clear these finds need to be supplemented by the purchase of some truly established, experienced players.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you are all forgetting one crucial point. Our previous stars that cost sod all trained with world class players winners with medals to prove it. There's no point buying kids if there's no Vieiras, Bergkamps, Henrys, Adams or gilbertos to make them winners. If fabregas goes it's goodbye to our last truly world class player. Van Persie will never be world until he can manage over 20 games in one seaon

{Ed022's Note - Given the fact the Robin Van Persie played 25 league games and scored 18 goals last season does this make him World class??}

Agree0 Disagree0

Guys i was referring to mata

Well then, to all my doubters: I told people a week or two ago that Wenger would put in a bid for Jagielka and that he was the number 1 target, and guess what...

Wenger is now ''likely'' to put in an improved bid.

Ben

Believable16 Unbelievable7

If he was the number one target we would not have made an offer for Jones.

Agree0 Disagree0

No please noooo. He is a poor English 6ft number two centre back. We need a commanding 6'3" + stopper.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why has he bid 2m less than last time dosnt make sense ?

Maybe less because prices are inflated in January, and hes that wee bit older...?

Whoever wrote the comment b4 is a legend if he ends up doing that haha

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger stated that we will sign 1 maybe 2 players. Expect a new centre back & possibly one more signing, in which position I havent a clue It wont be a keeper, it wont be a left back because he informed us he has Gibbs, Traore & Vermaelen. We only play with one forward & have Van Persie, Vela & Chamakh, possibly Walcott as well. I have a horrible feeling our squad will be:
Szczesney, Fabianski & Mannone
Sagna, Eboue & Jenkinson
Gibbs & Traore
Vermaelen, Djourou, Squilacci, Djourou & Koscielny
Wilshere, Rosicky, Abu Diaby, Nasri, Song, Frimpong, Arshavin, Gervinho & Ramsey
Van Persie, Walcott, Chamakh & Vela
Plus U21's & probably a new centre back.

I've just read on Goal that Liverpool want Diego Godin but would need to sell first, he is 25, 6 ft 1 in, has plenty of international experience and is good on the ball which would seem a good fit for Arsenal and he would cost between £12/15 million.
-Connor

Believable7 Unbelievable9

Godin is a quality player him or lugano would be good. any experienced cb wud be gd wen i mean any i mean better than squilaci

Agree0 Disagree0

What a pile of crap 12 million in football manager. Considering Rangers are interested in him, source STV, you would be looking at 1-2 million at a push. Lol one of the worst rumors I have heard in weeks based completely on bull.

Bulgarian media are getting increasingly confident that Lokomotiv Plovdiv's 18-year old Serbian winger Nenad Lukic is going to be sold this summer. Apart from The Arsenal (AW invited him for a trial) they also report about interest from Utd and Chelsea. Further notion that he is not going to stay here next season is the fact that he didn't travel with Lokomotiv to Austria, where they have their training camp.
Now I know that this might be a longshot, and of course one for the future, but I've seen the lad in play a couple of times and he definitely has potential. What you think, Ed?

Believable9 Unbelievable5

I was in plovdiv this march - let me tell you something, it was a sh** ho** no wonder he wants to leave.

COBBLERS-GOONER..... so i posted a rumour on here yesterday that Gary Cahill might be having a medical here today..... well the grass has been cut, the lines painted and there is absolutely no one to be seen, apart from Ken who does the plumbing, so unless its not going to happen, or its a late one.... then i dont think its going to happen at all, anyway, £14M is too much for him, i mean thats £181, 818 per inch, and he aint that good in my eyes.

There was no 'might' in your previous post. you said categorically that he would be. yawn

BBC TV have reported that Arsenal bid 10m for Jagielka which has been rejected and that we bid 12m in January.
What on earth is going on 2m less in a sellars market for defenders.
KJ

Believable7 Unbelievable4

I misheard that report as accepted as I walked into the lounge with a cup of tea

Why oh why are we not offering decent prices? We will lose wanted players for the sake of a couple of million - it's false economy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't believe everything you read

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger is always doing that, makes bids he knows will be rejected so it LOOKS like hes doing business. Come the end of the transfer window we will get the same speech about "tried but nobody available" that we have heard for years now. Its simply hipocrasy to hold out for a fee on Cesc and Bendtner, yet offer insultingly low bids to other teams

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not a defenders market...wenger has time...no one is bidding for the guys wenger wants. Also 17 mill for cahill? man he sucks for that amount...

I want wenger to go after mata...sell cesc, sign nasri or sell him and move things at a faster pace...get deals wrapped up...get the team ready with pracitice and friendlies and get ready for a very busy agust with Utd and Liverpool and two champions league games.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't believe everything you read, don't you mean everything you hear as it was on the BBc news.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you know as a seller that Arsenal need to buy a defender then of course the seller will ask for more.

Agree0 Disagree0

So Arsenal should bid 15 mill straight away for a player, car salesman would love you. You bid low then increase your bid. Barca would have been fine about cesc if they didn't do it all publicly.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bbc news have a website as well. So he probably read it there. Stop being silly.

Agree0 Disagree0

The bbc are as reliable as you get, of course its true

People don't seem to realise that everton don't have any money to buy new players, which is why they will want as much money for jagielka as they can get. However they are interested in taking bendtner on a possible loan. If arsenal offer 12m-14m + bendtner as part of the deal they mite not have to pay so much for an over priced player. Then we would also have got rid of bendtner allowing us to go for a further transfer target-possibly mata?

Arsenal look set to finally sell cesc this weekend for in excess of 35mil. Despite various rumours no immediate replacement will come in. Nasri will move into a more central role along with Ramsey for CM options. Juan Mata will join for around 21mil next week and I expect him to be accompanied by either Scott Dann (10mil) or Gary Cahill (15mil), however Cahill will not move if Coyle insists on receiving the full 17 mil release clause. Felipe Melo is going to Galatasary in the next few days which is great news as he is a hot head and overrated in my opinion.

Overall Summary: Mata & Dann to come in with Bendtner, Almunia, Squillaci, Emmanuel-Thomas to exit.

COBBLERS-GOONER..... liking this alot, well not the JET leaving bit, but the rest is good news, but is Scott Dann good enough at £10M ??

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd be a very happy Gooners if we sign Mata and Cahill. Matty H

Agree0 Disagree0

Whats with Jay E-T? leaving? For loan or..?

Agree0 Disagree0

At 6"6 Dann would be perfect and was superb for Birmingham 1st half of the season before injury ruled him out. With his presence alongside TV, it would be an ideal combo, Jagielka has been bid for but no way will Moyes let him go.

JET is surplus to requirements and AW is looking at new faces to compete up top and is looking to cash in on the youngster...loan unlikely.

Kentish Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Emmanuel-Thomas won't be leaving. It is unlikely AW will sell Squillaci as he only signed him last year, sadly. Mata and Dann to come in, I can believe. I am of course prepared to eat my words if I'm wrong haha.

Agree0 Disagree0

JET produced a performance to make a statement to AW against hastings in out 9-0 demolition. AW will hang fire on him if he is scoring goals expect him to be sent on super loan (epl) or AW will see what he has got in the first team and training. Expect Afobe, Lansbury, Eastmond & Frimpong to feature in cologne Bartley is still getting fitness back as he played against hastings. Our friendlies now are even more important as AW has made it clear by his asia tour that he will only pick players who he thinks can step up in his first XI teams.

What's this HUGE transfer info you have for us Dublin Gooner? I'm really quite keen to know.

Its probably the breaking news that Joel Campbell is not sigining for us...Dublin Gooner needs to understand we read the paper too.

COBBLERS-GOONER.... Check the papers and SS or BBC web-sites.... thats where he gets all his "stuff" from......

Whats being reported is that the board is urging wenger to spend...not sure if its true.

Regarding the Ribery Rumours, maybe a backup for nasri?

And with reports that barcelona negotiators are in london maybe cesc could be gone and wenger needs to go after mata.

I want him to replace nasri and cesc with Ribery and mata...and buy a damn CB and lets start the season...

Nasri - 25
Cesc - 35

total - 60 mill

Ribery - 25
Mata - 25

Wenger has 10 mill and he can use that to sign a defender...cmon wenger...even i would not laze around like you...before city snap up mata...id go for him first.

Believable10 Unbelievable2

COBBLERS-GOONER...... Well said my friend, well said. If only AW read this site eh

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't understand why so many would have Ribery here. Surely we won't pay £25m for a 28 year old, injury prone player. Especially considering his recent personal issues. Its clear for all to see we need at least one CB in and I'd love Mata here as well, but I'd either prefer Nasri to stay and move central or we a sign another proper CM if/when Cesc goes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ribery isn't coming to Arsenal.

So Mata is for sale "at the right price" after all.... Now Board, Gazidas show us we mean Business and get it done Dont hang about, Dont dilly dally, get it done, spend the money and show us the ambition you have been so Unnecessarily vocal about this summer...

Believable16 Unbelievable2

I went to a Valencia game last season and it took me a while to work out who the intelligent, speedy number 10 was making class runs and great passes. Mata would fit in to our team well and be a great singing. However, as always with Arsenal their is probably a young kid out there for a million quid so we'd opt for him instead.

Agree0 Disagree0

He may be for sale, but does Wenger want him & if so is he waiting to see the outcome of the Fabregas sale? Or knowing Wenger he could be seeing if he can force the price down once the likes of Man C, Man U & Chelsea have made their moves & the window closure draws near.

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally i feel we will go in with a low offer and test the waters, so i do feel we will bid, but we will bid around £15m in the meantime City or the Pool will bid 20m and we will miss the boat, a massive feeling of Deja Vu with this one aswell i think.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well i dont think wenger can dither about...when the emirates cup begins there will be chants aimed at wenger...im sure he would atleast make another signing withing the next week

Agree0 Disagree0

COBBLERS-GOONER...... Well said that man, we need to move quick if we want him, he will fit in well in my opinion, and will show we have some ambition

Agree0 Disagree0

Sadly i don't think we will pay the £20 million for him He would be a quality signing for us. COME ON WENGER Matty H

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep definitely. Mata would be a great signing, but he wouldnt be a replacement for cesc...cesc is much better imo.

Daniel

Agree0 Disagree0

Mata has a release clause of 25mil euros right?

I personally would love to see cesc gone, nasri played down the middle, with mata brought in to play down the left. Very much doubt it will happen though

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger may be he manager but he should not be in charge of transfers, if the board want him to spend, and hes not just buy him anyway, its there business. FFS just buy him.

10m deal for dann seems were likely to get him cos sunderland had a 8 mill bid but the deal collapsed a good source
max

Believable6 Unbelievable16

Why would you offer £10m when Sunderland had an £8m bid accepted? Seems like a waste of £2m

Agree0 Disagree0

He never said they did accept... I think it came down to Sunderland in the end, as they did pull out of the Gibson transfer aswell cause of cash

Agree0 Disagree0

I bloody well hope not why buy a defender from a team who got relegated Cahil, Samba or Jags proven Prem defenders

Agree0 Disagree0

Childish post, he was relegated but he was one of there best performers, look at his opta stats he is quality and young and if we got him over jags and cahill we would be better, the latter 2 will arrive (well one will) in jan or next season AW is preparing to move on so he will set us up well first.

that joel campbell looked a decent player albeit on youtube...some fantasic finnishing and could fit into our team perfectly either upfront along side RVP or anywhere upfront in a 4-3-3 as wenger so often uses.and for 1million is a steal.
everything was signed, sealed and delivered apparently, then he and his father have decided to wait till sfter the U-20 WC...
personally i think its that useless person gazidis..probably only offered him £250 per week or something.any other club would have wrapped that up in a day or 2.typical arsenal were guna loose out on everyone as wenger and gazidis are dithering about.... like cahill and samba and chamberlain who will all shortly sign elsewhere.
hope we dont give up on campbell mind,

Believable9 Unbelievable14

Don't see how Arsenal are to blame for the player's father being unprofessional and greedy. Are you saying we shouldve broken our wage structure for a 19 year old from Costa Rica?

Agree0 Disagree0

He looked good but if I was making a video of me I'd only show the good bits too.

I'd look like Kaka

Agree0 Disagree0

Not true, arsenal actually pay youngsters extremely well, that's why our wage bill is huge even tho we don't pay top wages like man u city and Chelsea, perfect example is bendtner he was on over 50k a week

Agree0 Disagree0

Can i just point out the reason we cant shift a lot of our surplus crap is that we pay too much too young.

Sure we dont give stars 250k a week but we do pay ridiculous amounts to youngsters/dross that other clubs just cant/wont match take bendtner and his 50k a week as a prime example

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate I thought it had been made pretty clear that this was nothing to do with Arsenal not sealing the deal - the kid's dad/agent did a u-turn when he saw big clubs were interested and the price will rpobably triple after the U20 tournament if he plays well. So Daddy makes around £300'000 instead of £100'000 and little boy Campbell goes somewhere richer than Arsenal, probably to sit on the bench, be loaned out, and generally squandered. His club have already said it is a crying shame he turned down our offer. The kid's a joker, what an opportunity, he can kiss our feet if he thinks he's worth that much to us the scrote.

Agree0 Disagree0

I honestly think this kid is worth paying for even if it costs an extra 100k for his dad...i think he will be a star in the future and knowing wenger could get a handsom selling fee back

Hi Ed,
If you don't mind.. I had a question relating to the news that Cesc Fabregas will in fact be sold to Barcelona as the two parties are negotiating.. Do you know if this official news?
Also, I have heard of a fall-out in the Carlos Teves deal with Corinthians.. in your opinion, can you see Teves going to Real Madrid instead, and us getting Benzema with the Fabregas money?
Respect Man,
Trinidad Gooner {Ed001's Note - there is nothing official and I have no idea what will happen with Tevez, City were intent on farming him off back to South America and getting Nasri, with Sneijder as their back up plan.}
