1-0 away win. Got away with it a scraped this win really. Wigan played well and put us under alot of pressure in 2nd half.
Carzorla way off the pace today, perhaps needs a rest now. Walcott no good on his own up front needs to play alongside Giroud. I do not know why Podolski was not utilsed up top tody.
This 4-3-3 is continuing to be so ineffective for us not sure why Wenger cant see this. We never gain command of midfeidl to give us teh platform to dominate games.
Main thing is the 3 points and we battled well to win ugly. 3rd now with pressure on Spurs to beat to Stoke now.

When arsenal was at their best they used a 4 4 2 system, we have the players in which to do this, so i can understand why people are puzzled by this, i am aswell.

We don't have the players for 4-4-2, cos if you play giroud with Walcott then you have wingers off podolski and ox, who aren't good enough defensively, also, then you have to drop either wilshire or santi because they are both attacking cm!

3 wins in a row is not 'ineffective' in the prem mate. In fact, considering Wigan are underacheiving and were at home, it was a sound result. Stop the negativity and get behind your team!
Agree1

We can't play 4-4-2, all teams have moved on. Only Man U can still play it because their wingers can play defensive (Valencia) and you can see the short comings when they can't (young). We can't keep trying to live in the past. Walcott through the middle is so much more beneficial. He got slated on motd but his movement was class and it have the ox something to work for which improved his game. Not every defence will be as weak as readings, but we showed real intent in the last two matches and with time I believe that could be the solution. Just hope Mr w has got the kahunas to stick with it despite the standard uneducated Hanson opinion

One player who has fallen under the radar is Nico Gaitan, we should get him despite him being cup tied would help in the premier league

Good point mate.
I must admit, I follow the Portugese league very little, so maybe I'm missing the reasons why, but it seems like in a year Gaitan went from wanted by Man Utd, Real Madrid, Man City etc, to finding himself on Benfica's Bench!
I know they have Eduardo Salvio who plays a similar position, so is it his form keeping Gaitan out?
Or is he just in a bad run of form.
I think it's fair to say he'd be a bit of a risk though?
But then again, so is any player.

When theo plays - 33%
When not plays - 59%
This is funny, where are the other 8%?)
Agree0

The other 8 is still deciding whether to sign or not
Agree0

Bs is it 33% when he dont play, seeing as hes one our leading scorers and adds alot of pace to the team, i cant see how some1 has worked that out lol
Agree0

You guys are people they don't have to add up to 100% fs! We win 33% of the games he plays in and win 59% of the games he doesn't play. Go back to school... Frustrating!
Agree0

By plays, are we counting starts are appearances? Arsenal has done well w/ him as a super-sub. He scored a lot from the bench.

Hi
I wonder if a loan exchange with Rennes Diaby for Mvila
would be a good deal for us.
We get to try before we buy-bearing in mind that some players take a while to catch up to the pace of the Premiership.
Plus we get some games into Diaby in a less competitive league so he can build himself up to become the player we want him to be.

I got to ask, since Schweinsteiger was mentioned here last transfer window, and given that he said he could leave Bayern, ed is there any chance he could end up at Arsenal?

morning boys and girls,,,
i have a bit of news on the mario goetze saga..
if you all remember richard laws was in germany the last week of the transfer window...
this was a last ditched attemp to get his signature..
mario wanted to stay in germany 1 more season but the 2 clubs have agreed a price and finally in the summer he will sign..
i have no info on the price but surely it will be close to £30mill?
i am told it's just about dotting the "I's" and crossing the "T's" and should happen fairly early in the transfer window.....

You are correct that we did make a last ditch bid to sign him but there are no immediate plans to sign him, Lewis holtby however will be joining Arsenal for around £8 million in january as will a striker who is likely to be Demba Ba but has not been confirmed yet and potentially 1 more signing who is completely unknown

Why would we buy 2 strikers (Plus Henry Loan - 3) ? We already have Pod, Giroud, Theo wanting to play there and heaven forebid Gervinho. I doubt Wenger is willing to change his beloved 4-3-3 system so these transfers make no sense.

Leandro Damiao is the striker for us. Has the all round game to play up fromt in the premiere league. Seems to have crept under the radar along with Seydou Doumbia. Is it because everyone has their eyes on Falcao and Cavani?
Do Wenger and Gazidis have the balls to do what Chelsea did when acquiring Oscar? 20m+ Denilson should have been offered in the summer when we knew Van persie was off.
Same goes for Keisuke Honda, a cash + Arshavin deal should have been offered to CSKA last winter.
Add Capoue to that and we have ourselves a better side than what we currently have
Believable16
Unbelievable22
I am told that damiao and capoue are serious targets...
i was thinking the same as you leandro would speed up the forward line and would supply and score lots of goals...
another henry??

The other must be willing to sell and accept our offer for deals to get done not like they can be forced to let their players go... be realists please when saying stuff.
Agree0
Disagree0
Last comment true. The selling club must be willing to sell and Arsenal do not have the financial clout to pressure any decent-sized club into the sale of the likes of Leandro. Capoue may e, but he is also sough by many other clubs - who again, have more money.
