Can any of the eds safely say that Emery will be the next arsenal manager? All reports saying it's going to be announced Tomorrow, the way everyone is reacting it really looks like a done deal. I hope there aren't any suprises there. Can any of the eds confirm, thanks for all the work.

{Ed002's Note - Since Arteta stepped back because of concerns he had Arsenal has spoken again to UE, has spoken with Henry and has held a board meeting (abeit incomplete). It is likely to happen as I understand he expects to have sufficient influence going forward.}

Ed with the new manager, how do u see arsenal season going next year? Do you think there will be progress, decline etc?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I think it is far less risky than MA. I have no feeling for where it will go.}

Thanks ed, I can breathe a sigh of relief now that you have confirmed the likelihood of UE happening. I think he is the right mix of good and bad (more good than bad) . Someone like Ancelloti wouldn't have anything specific to prove and would continue the cozy club trend whereas MA would have been a Big big gamble but UE is young, dynamic and has a point to prove. He's got experience and is tactically sound. Positive times for Arsenal, hoping that everybody get behind the team now and we try and capitalise on the next season, where the eyes maybe on us but definitely the pressure won't be on us. That's happening after a long long time. What do you guys think?

Hello Ed002, any idea who Emery number 2 will be or the potential candidates? Thank you and thanks for your hard work in helping us arsenal fans with the managerial position!

{Ed002's Note - I don't but I will be with someone close to the scene in Belgium on Thursday. I will see what he thinks.}

Thanks Ed, I dunno if you seen it but many reports saying t will be Henry.

{Ed002's Note - I don't get to see "reports" at all.}

Anyway, again thanks for your work, and well played Ed001 you weirdly predicted it right.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - did I? Shows how good my memory is that I have absolutely no recall of doing so! It did make the most sense though, he is one of the few that is happy to give up control over transfers, he just wants to work with the team. He is used to having Monchi do all that.}

Hi ed002, i know you said that you won't give us any new information in relation of transfer news, but i like your sharkopods a lot and it's my favourite method to get to know our transfer targets. Is it possible that we get a new sharkopod in the following weeks?
It would be very interesting how our targets will look like after the club has sorted out the manager situation and everything. Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - There is a gradually hatching plan to do a transfer news free Sharkopod, nothing but music and me ranting about the things I love and hate in life (e.g. Chinos with stretchy waistbands and those wire soap holders in hotel bathrooms that the shampoo slips through).}

Hahaha too bad, but i'm still going to listen to it.

Would love to know which of those items fell into the love and which into the hate brackets.

I am a little bit concerned as to why most of the candidates have turned us down, I personally think they have been told there is no money to spend or they will have no say in the transfers.

Club have officially declared that no candidate turned us down - whilst technically true, that may be only encompass those to whom we made an offer. I'm sure the likes of Simeone, Allegri, would have 'turned us down', so to speak, prior to the club making an official offer - or 'ruled themselves out of the running', for want of a better phrase.

Regarding no money to spend, there obviously is some, though admittedly and inevitably not as much as the likes of City and United

Re no say on transfers - again, probably not entirely the case. Raul and Sven, along with Gazidis, are behind the wheel on the transfer front, but would make little sense for the manager to provide no input whatsoever. It seems to be more of a combined 'team' effort.

How do you know they turned arsenal down?

it's a bit of both. Sven will do all the transfers but the manager himself has a £50M to spend on his own targets but Sven will identify the targets that he believes the club needs and then pursue their signature.

Allegri and nagelsmann both turned down Arsenal. It has been heavily reported.

Heavily reported by who Punani mate? The same people who told us Artetta was our next manager? If Artetta benzema and higuain were all total fabrication, why believe any of the bad stuff that is highly likely to be total rubbish as well.

Some people thrive in the negative stuff G62. Press have click baited everybody and had people believing all sorts. Any recruitment process at this level is a drawn out affair so unlikely anyone had an offer to turn down. The Arteta talks were undoubtably part of the interview process. If he was getting the job they would not not have spoken to Henry or others after that. I also very much doubt Emery is anywhere near as left field as some would believe. He would have been a serious contender for some time.
Time for us all to get behind him now. Even Punani.

SinGooner will get behind the team. I am a fan first of all. I hope Emery proves me wrong. I'll be over the moon if we won the league or the champions league in the next 2-3 years. It is just that i have my doubts is all but for sure i'll get behind the team and support the boys.

Get behind Emery too Punani mate, the man's done nothing wrong.
I know you really wanted Tuchel or Nanglesman but it's not Emery fault that the club didn't get either of your two favourites.
It's a bit like hoping for steak and chips for tea and coming home to find you've got egg and bacon, don't throw your dinner straight in the bin without even trying and go hungry just because it's not exactly what you hoped for :-)
Give it a go mate you might even find you like bacon and eggs after all :-)
