Below is a letter Arsenal are sending to fans who raise concerns about our lack of transfers/ambition:

'Many thanks for your email. We understand and share your disappointment that Arsenal Football Club plc have not secured any acquisitions on players for the new season.
'In terms of our dealings in the transfer market, we can assure you we have been working hard throughout the summer to bring in additional players and this will continue until the end of the transfer window.
'We are clear that our ambition at Arsenal is to compete for and win trophies. This ambition is shared by our majority owner Stan Kroenke, the board, Arsene Wenger and everyone who works for the Club.
'I take this opportunity to thank you for your continued and valued support of Arsenal Football Club plc.
'On Behalf of Arsenal Football Club.'

Oh they forgot to add, keep coming & supporting, I have a big RANCH that isn't cheap & dividends to pay out. MUGS

Agree1 Disagree2

Writing out that letter is probably the hardest work wenger and the board has done all summer

Agree1 Disagree2

I sent a email that went over many different aspects of how the club is run.
Including ticket prices, ambition, management, finances and transfers. Then I received the same email. If you want to read it just look at my last 5 posts in banter section. I warn you its a long read.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do stan ever go to any of the games, I think he went once after he took over. I don't want us to be run like Chelsea but at least Roman forces the managers to bring players in or he buys them him self, I mean what does stan do? usmanov in

Agree0 Disagree0

Kronke is an investor who owns or has holding in other sports "franchises", he is not an owner who will take our club forward.

On Tuesday, Arsenal financial director Richard Law flew into Valencia, but his offer was so paltry that it left Valencia in a state of shock. The London club's representative explained that Arsenal does not have much money to invest, but the club is interested in Guaita given his desire to leave Valencia."

Maybe the 70 mill was total BS

ED?? {Ed027's Note - money is there, it's proved in the accounts

Believable7 Unbelievable25

The money is there, as ed said, in fact there is more 150mil.

What is perhaps BS is whether its going to be spend or not.

maybe SS has got cold feet. Sooner the board change the better.

Agree1 Disagree0

It doesn't mean it has been put aside for investment though ED?

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of tosh! The money is there to spend, but they are not going to waste it on the likes of him!

Why bother posting pish like that?!?

Churchill Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

If the lack of funds excuse was given, he's trying the old, tiresome haggling trick. The amount arsenal really have is enough to buy cr7. Which will never happen btw

Agree0 Disagree0

I must ask Ed has it been proven we have this kinda money. See obv I believe it. But my local team have a few people who are determined saying we are skint. Obv bs so be nice to know of some proof to shut them up. {Ed027's Note - show them the accounts

Agree0 Disagree0

Just watch the gazidis interview mate he talks about a 150 mil cash reserved tbf he didn't say it was all up for investment he also talked about fly emirates paying a lump sum from the sponsorship deal to invest on players!

Agree0 Disagree0

it's actually an interesting piece of information. wenger stated in his most recent interview that arsenal don't have as much money to spend as has been reported.

i agree with Ed027 that it's proved in the accounts, but are the board now trying to counter gazidis' obviously personic statement at the beginning of the summer concerning rooney ("we can do that and more") and our £70 million?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hasn't Addidas already given us some money for players as well even though they don't become kit sponsors till next season

Agree0 Disagree0

Churchill you make a point but think of this why the hell did Dick Law go over there and offer 20 million below the price they value him at?

Maybe he just likes travelling

Agree0 Disagree0

Also guys ask yourself this

The money might be in the bank but it clearly isn't ear marked for transfers.we would have spent some by now. Charlie Nicholas was saying that the 70 mill for transfers is just for that wages are separate.

I'm not convinced we have 'that' amount for transfers .

Someone give me a very good reason as to why we left it this late? Would you sell one of your best players with no time left to replace him? If we know this why don't Arsenal?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ill think you will find that's called negotiating!

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe they are saying they don't have much money to spend to Valencia because it is set aside for other, more important transfers that are in the pipeline? just a thought.

keep the faith gooners the next few weeks could be great or terrible so let's just stick together support the team and hope for the best

Agree0 Disagree0

Next season's puma isn;t it?

I am told RM have agreed a price with arsenal over Di Maria, higher than arsenal's original evaluation but accepted at this stage.
No clue if any talks with the player/agent have happened however.

Believable23 Unbelievable62

Believe it when he runs out of the tunnel!

Agree0 Disagree1

The only believable part of this romour is we offered an amount and real wanted more!

Eds, are Arsenal close to selling Bendtner, Park and Frimpong?

Cheers {Ed027's Note - no, Frimpong has offers, I think he'll go once Flamini is signed

Believable24 Unbelievable9

Ed, why do you think Wenger denied we are signing Flamini? {Ed027's Note - to avoid a backlash

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you able to say who is interested in Frimpong Ed? {Ed027's Note -a few championship clubs

Agree0 Disagree0

I think flammini is a done deal but arsene don't wanna annoy the fans by seeming like we are only after free players. Just my own opinion

Agree1 Disagree0

Really hope they don't sell Frimpong, really like the lad, and I think he'll come good for us given a run out in the first team, shame if he goes.

ed, what's the current position regarding sakho? i've read he's available, but then some are saying spurs have also enquired. would absolutely hate it if he joined the spuds, as I absolutely love sakho, and if he goes there, then i'll have to loathe him. {Ed044's Note - From Ed02 on the Liverpool page: Sakho has been on the list of targets for many clubs over the past year or so - Monaco, Arsenal and Lyon have sustained interest in Sakho and there has been some interest from Newcastle, Inter Milan, Manchester City and even possible interest lingering interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona. Baader has explained that AC Milan and Liverpool have recently enquired about his availability - but at that time PSG were not keen on selling and the player was then keen to stay. However, Laurent Blanc remains concerned about his attitude and would be willing to let him move on - that could be facilitated after the departure of Leonardo who had been lending him support. Would be an excellent buy for Liverpool if Agger or Skrtel were to move on, and not out of the question - but no offer has been made by the club whilst AC Milan are actively pushing for a deal. Napoli are also considering Sakho as an alternative to Alderweireld but have been put off by the asking price - they might still seek a loan.}

Believable4 Unbelievable7

Cheers for the reply Ed. I really hope Wenger expresses his interest in Sakho and something materialises. Him and Kos at the back would be, I think the only way to put it, beastly! Would be ideal for the upcoming world cup too, playing together in a club can only benefit the country.

Agree2 Disagree0

We should be raiding PSG, so many good players they don't want! we should go for a triple swoop I reckon - Sakho for defence, clement chantome for midfield (him and flamini for DCM) and to complete the set Jeremy Menez - three players not wanted, 3 players to fill much needed positions in the squad. I would still take micah richards for the squad/competition. Also from Real I would rather Benzema & Kaka oh and a goalie so 8 players total! that's good enough for me, except for benzema no bif transfer fees so Wenger is happy too!

Hi Ed. with chelsea now in for willian and looks likely to sign. do u think we have any chance of nicking juan mata? {Ed044's Note - Apparently it is Moses that is available.}

Believable2 Unbelievable22

The ironic thing is that Moses has actually looked pretty good this season

Agree1 Disagree0

I think if we put in a decent offer they may consider. Mata no longer a guaranteed starter for them.

Agree2 Disagree0

Moses will lead us to the promised land. but can he be bought

Agree0 Disagree0

As Mourinho himself states, there is no harm in putting in an offer. I think a £30m offer would get him myself

Agree1 Disagree0

Moses is decent. Not world class but would be a fantastic squad player. Utd are full of squad players who aren't necessarily going to play every week, but are good enough to slot in and out when required. We've lacked these kind of players for years and Moses could be ideal. I'd actually play him in goal as opposed to Sczcesny. Have no idea if he's any good, but I have every idea Sczcesny is too terrible.

Agree0 Disagree1

Surley they will need moses for thier HG player quota, can they really bring in 4 players and let HG one go. could be a real poss for Mata surley. should be top target if poss, geat LM or played behind striker.

Agree1 Disagree0

Moses, one of the most overated players in the premier league. No thanks

Agree2 Disagree0

As glasgow gooner says Moses is a good squad player, unfortunately our main striker Giroud is also only a squad player. We need a "top top top" striker

Suddenly, a Karim Benzema transfer is conceivable. Arsenal are confident 40m will convince Real Madrid to sell. Madrid will then use that money to sign Samuel Eto'o or Luis Suarez

The cases for both are

Eto'o- has technically played for both Real Madrid and Barcelona before, so he couldn't care less about that rivalry. He'll just go where the money's flowing

Suarez- Well what can I say. If Suarez doesn't get his dream move, somebody in the Liverpool higher-ups will get their arm bitten off.

Believable38 Unbelievable19

Rodgers thinks its too late for Suarez to move too Real!

Agree0 Disagree0

We all want it to magically happen.

Bale goes to Real Madrid, and then suddenly they also go for Suarez (who liverpool now want to suddenly sell) and out of all of this WE get Benzema.

Not Chelsea, Not Man City, Not even Man UTD. But Arsenal will get the player.

We all know this isn;t going to happen, why delude ourselves.

Agree3 Disagree0

Man city don't need a striker, and Manchester United have to sell rooney to buy another, and the striker they buy won't cost them 40 million to be backup to Van persie.

Mourinho is not going to buy Benzema, he has insulted madrid enough, by calling them a non football club, but a political institution.

not sure he wants either of benzema or higuain, as he kept playing them as part time strikers.

anyway time will tell, but I think if we are going to say to Di maria and benzema, we will make them starters, offer them a reasonable salary and a good transfer fee. 60 million for the two should do the trick.

benzema currently ears 130k per week and Di maria earns something like 60k a week. So it would be beneficial if we can offer more for both and get them.

Agree0 Disagree0

So how do we conclude that Benzema ends up at Arsenal when we have made no contact with Real Madrid about the player. If you don't ask you won't get.

Agree0 Disagree0

Right boys.

Guiata- expect this one to happen. Valencia in major financial trouble. Heard 10-12m will do the trick at the end of the window.

Flamini - for a free can't really argue can play a number of positions including right back

Cabaye - no need for him if flamini is signed. Specially with Rambo looking like a different player this season.

Di Maria- absolute must buy! We're in dire need of a winger. Can also see podolski being sold if this happens.

Benzema - obviously would love him. Depends on the suarez situation, if madrid bid for him I think we've got a real chance at nabbing him.

70m war chest on a gk, dm, lw and striker

PLEASE IF THERE IS A GOD!

Believable41 Unbelievable25

Podolski won't be sold. People have been saying he's off all window, it's a ridiculous thing to claim. Actually baffles me.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 -12 for him or 15-16 for Casilias or even 12m for Begovic.

This Guiata guy is Spanish yes, but he is like their fourth choice goal keeper.

We should offer 10m for Begovic see what happens or focus on Casillias in my opinion.

On the papers that Liverpool are bracing themselves for a bid from Madrid.

and after spending all their kitty money on an ape. they will have to sell to buy the shark ( or jaws as I call him)

Modric linked with man utd.
Khedira also up for sale
Coentrao also up for sale
and very likely Di maria up for sale too.

Spurs have lost Willian to chelsea apparently.

If madrid make a bid for Suarez, he will bite everyone like a rabid dog before putting in his transfer request.

Damiao is being looked at by liverpool ( spurs love child)

Flamini to sign for Arsenal as stated by ED.

Arsenal to make 16 million pound bid for Cabaye

and i'm watching flight of the conchords. epic

Believable29 Unbelievable22

I doubt Madrid will sell Khedira now that Alonso has got injured(not sure how long for)! They do have Illaramendi who would slot straight into Xabis position though

Agree0 Disagree0

They got casmeiro, kaka, illaramendi, modric.

so yes they are looking to sell him.

Alonso is out till december latest. {Ed044's Note - From another page: RM want to sell, the player wants to stay, the asking price of €42 million put off the club looking to buy him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Also to point out they play La liga, where they could beat most teams with their B team.

its only in the second half of the season, where they would need their key players like Alonso to be there, and he will.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes but you're also on about Modric being sold aswell! Out of curiosity when would they need their key players in the second half of the season and not really in the first half?

Agree0 Disagree0

I would think more like deep in the champions league, compared to the joke that is la liga.

anyway. I don't know mate. I am speculating like the rest of you.

its just thinking out loud. at the end of the day we may end up with heskey and flamini on a free.
