{Ed022's Note - Hi all, there has been a Player Profile Updated on Seydou Doumbia of CSKA Moscow. Reports suggest that Arsenal are interested in the Striker, and to say he is prolific is an understatement. Be sure to check out the 'Your Profiles' section also, as there are plenty of profiles for you Arsenal fans, including one on M'Baye Niang and more. I also understand an Arsenal fan is working on a Cazorla profile for you Gooners also, so thats one to look out for! www.player-profiles.co.uk - thanks all.}

Barca have entered bidding for RVP 16M + David Villa being touted in Spainish newspapers today.

Azz the gooner

Believable10 Unbelievable20

Id prefur Thaigo and either Cuenca or maybe pedro but can't see barca offering for him never mind swap plus money

DD

Agree9 Disagree3

Which newspaper ? , and come on 16M + villa , thats just too much

Agree4 Disagree1

Barc are not going to buy him cos they brought jordi and only have 20m to spend an they want a center half to replace puyol

Agree5 Disagree0

Sorry to say this and dont mean to be rude but lets face it, This person has had all day to post this but leaves it untill 20:15:22 unless it got posted late that is.

All that aside be fair people cant keep our main striker and no disregardes but certainly wont pay villas wages its like a swap for a player thats newly more injured then RVP.

Not to be mean but please people wake up.

Gavsta {Ed027's Note - the times relate to when the posts have been sent in,not when edited

Agree0 Disagree2

I don't think this will happen but villa is the type of striker we need extra. Someone a bit more dynamic

Agree1 Disagree3

Tempting! Flybo

Agree1 Disagree3

You would have to take 16mil plus Villa, that's a no brainer. Villa, if he comes back from injury is a world class striker, he's lethal and consistent infront of goal. Plus, he'd got into poor style of play. I personally would be happy with this move, IF he recovers from his injury that is...

Agree2 Disagree3

I would take that.
May be this gets an expensive and oldish player off Barca's books and an unpopular player within the team also.
Both teams would know the players would slot into each others style of play.

Agree1 Disagree1

Gavsta-people on here live in several differnet places around the world, 20.15 might be the ideal time for AZZ to post . so

Agree1 Disagree0

You're not being rude Gavsta- just ignorant. Not everybody lives where you do.

Besiktas are not looking to sign out-of-favour Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh this summer, according to the Turkish club's manager.
LiamsBiz

Believable11 Unbelievable3

Please let this happen. please take this muppet

Agree7 Disagree4

I love how every club is defending themselves with "we dont want him" like hes some no good player. oh wait.

Agree3 Disagree1

West Ham were looking at him

JW.19

If RvP leaves Chamakh stays

rumours pls Ed
Ibrahim Afellay and Carlos Tello are the 2 players arsne is most likely to sign he is very keen on gasnso but there is a 3rd party who own the rights to him and it would be messy so that wont happen
new contract for theo . Miyaichi to step up to the 1st team if he can impress arsne pre season

Believable7 Unbelievable6

Well you had me believing you until you said carlos tello, so...not very far...because carlos tello isn't a footballer...if you're talking about Christian Tello from Barcelona then maybe...

Agree5 Disagree1

Miyaichi shud go out on loan again

My cousin Ben Knapper is one of the analysts at the club, he told me that arsenal will definately sign 2 more players, he says they will be a DM and an AMF which i believe will be ganso and mvilla :) this is a genuine source and I am the first to let you all know

Believable13 Unbelievable17

I'm beginning to get fairly confident carzola is coming!

Agree14 Disagree8

Sorry buddy, but I think "ben" is winding you up....

Billybob

Agree8 Disagree4

M'Vila isnt coming arsenal withdrew their interest couple weeks ago after Yanns hissy fit plus the DM Target is that of either Etienne Capoue or Steven N'Zonzi

Agree5 Disagree5

Doubt it's Ganso, he's already confirmed he wants to stay at Santos, Cazorla looks to be the player.

Agree8 Disagree5

My club has analysts?
Do the players know about this?

Agree1 Disagree1

Ganso hasn't confirmed anything, santos have confirmed he won't play for them again so two very contrasting stories

DD

Agree7 Disagree1

Arsene Wenger has already come out and said we have too many midfielders, unless one gets injured nobody will be coming in. he wants to give a chance to Coquelin and Diaby.... so much for Yann M'Villa deal being done as so many of you have reported through your 'sources'!
Brad

Agree4 Disagree3

Didn't you post this same post only a few days ago?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ganso came out yesterday saying he's staying at Santos.

Agree2 Disagree1

Ganso is a difficult scenario, his agent said he's leaving santos 100%

Ganso says he wants to stay at santos.

And santos apparently say he won't play for them again.

So anyone could be true, they could all change their tune and say something different in the coming days.

IF he left, and with santos desperate to keep Neymar, I can see it being a possibility, I've just got this feeling it'll be Porto and AC Milan.

Milan have been highly linked with him in the past, he even once said it was the only club he'd join.
And with Porto a haven for south American players and moutinho touted to move to Spuds or Chelski, I can see him fitting in well!

D

Agree3 Disagree1

Ganso will not come because of co-ownership. M'vila will only come if Diaby or Wilshere suffer setbacks.

The players coming in depends on the players leaving.

Agree4 Disagree1

I wonder is his name Ben Dover?
Sounds like u've been screwed, Ganso will not come, he part owned like Tevez was and arsenal wont even touch that kinda situation, M'Vila i'm not sure but we definitely need a proper DM that likes to defend, someone like N.DeJong/Mascherano would be better for us

Agree2 Disagree0

Hasnt wenger come out and says we dont need anybody and has said no in regards to m'vila as we have diaby back. M'vila is a no go and i dont think a mid will be bought. A versatile defemder, gk and striker to replace rvp will be signed. Doubt we should expect big names though

Agree1 Disagree1

Definitely ,whether ben says it or not but we can all smell some fresh blood

Agree1 Disagree0

Yur the first to tell us? Who are you? Ya didn't leave a name!

Sheeny

Agree0 Disagree0

COBBLERS GOONER...... Ganso staying, M'Vila interest dropped.... come on kid, sort yourself out

Reports RVP has handed in transfer request!!

GoonerRob

Believable20 Unbelievable14

With his reported 10.1m a season wage demand
x3 yrs + transfer fee (30m) = 60.3m
x4yrs + transfer fee = 70.4m
RVP is going nowhere with those demands
AFC stick to your guys over the transfer fee (no less than 25m)

Agree19 Disagree3

Source?

Agree8 Disagree1

His demands are very high, which means it will prob drag on like the nasri saga.

Agree8 Disagree1

The last time Arsenal played a season without RVP, we went unbeaten and became the invincibles, think we'll be ok :)

Agree13 Disagree7

Rvp scored a late goal to claim a draw with southhampton that invince season so we didnt do it without him.

realistically man city are the only club who can afford him but weither he stays or goes, i think giroud is gona do the business in the premier league. anyone else agree?

Arsenal Forever

Agree11 Disagree6

RVP did not score a goal vs Southampton in our invincible season - he joined us after the 2003/4 season had finished!
He made his debut in the 2004 Community Shield.

Agree7 Disagree1

I think you will find that we signed rvp after the unbeaten season as he was paraded at highbury either before or at halftime.. didnt he wear some real dodgy trousers too?!

Adam

Agree4 Disagree0

That was the season after the invincibles......part of the match winning run yes.....but not of the title winning side. He was bought in the summer of 2004

Agree3 Disagree0

Ah. i stand corrected. I just remembered watching the match and worrying that the run was coming to an end before rvp scored

Agree1 Disagree1

RVP scored that goal against Southampton in the 2005/2006 season, not the invincible season of 2003/2004. We were wearing red currant shirts as it was our last season at highbury. That was the season we reached the champions league final. Good times

Agree0 Disagree0

Who cares whether we had Van Persie then or not - we don't have Campbell, Toure, Cole, Gilberto, Vieira, Henry, Bergkamp, Pires, Ljungberg, Wiltord etc now do we!
Drumsofdotl

Agree6 Disagree0

COBBLERS GOONER...... i posted yesterday that RVP had agreed terms with Juve (22M), medical to be within the week and deal announced weekend....... Good Ridance i say

All this stuff on m'vila has annoyed me a little cos I think he's a class player and would suit arsenal down to the ground but abou Diaby despite his injury problems is a great player and one we've missed along with Wilshere and also we've got coquelin and frimpong coming through so now with me and think if RVP goes we get lewandowski and someone like Cazorla/Hanson midfield and possibly affellay and we have a great team,

Believable14 Unbelievable8

So Arsene says RvP will stay like he did with Cesc and Nasri, yet you don't believe that. He says no interest in M'Vila and you believe that...
Just wait and see. He will be an Arsenal players.

Agree10 Disagree8

I dont think wenger is going to buy another striker if RVP goes.

perhaps he will convince walcott that he can fight for the central role with giroud.

The latest revelation that bendtner may stay maybe linked with the vacancy too.

The only hope we have is that our style of play and manager can do something to pull a rabbit out of the hat.

But in terms of quality players we have Wilshere, Song, Verm, Kos and Sagna.

When you look at City and Chelsea and perhaps even utd they have more talent compared to our 5 players.

With RVP gone whatever hope we had of winning the league is gone. Im not saying we cant hope. but sometimes getting to grips with reality is better.

Ive done this for 7 years. I will support the team but wengers B.S, i aint falling for it no more.

Lakeville

Agree9 Disagree10

All the m'villa rumours are false here is Arsen's quote saying ''Wenger also dismissed talk of a move for Yann MVila and said he is already well stocked in midfield''.

Agree9 Disagree6

Who da hell is hanson?? u mean alan hansen or the 3 brother band from the 90's hanson mmm bop

Agree9 Disagree3

Diaby is not a 'Great' player, he can be quite skillful and knows how to shoot but definately not a great player and can not be relied on due to injuries.

Also how can he be classed as a defensive midfielder?

337

Agree9 Disagree12

Diaby is not a great player firstly, can't stand the guy...always tries too much and god forbid he actually pulls off one of his stupid runs, then he wont pass to save his life with his new-found confidence...
we desperately need m'vila. he's the parker of this summer's window, and we can't make the same mistake twice...

Agree10 Disagree13

Wenger has essentailly said that unless diaby or any of our other holding midfielders, and yes diaby is a holding midfielder, get injured then we will not sign another midfielder if one does get injured we may sign m'villa when we have returned from asia.

Agree6 Disagree3

Any chance Bendtner stays and fight for his place? Any source? Hope so, he will flourish!

Agree4 Disagree11

Parker is s***

Agree9 Disagree5

In all honesty, I love Diaby - but I think we would all be surprised if he made it through 4 or 5 games un-scathed. His come back last season at Liverpool lasted less than 45 minutes, the most he has done is play a game then be on the bench - to me it sounds as though Wenger doesnt want to give up on him but knows that a reliance upon him is a bit of a pointless exercise... 'you have pre-season to prove to me that I can rely on you, if you can't, then I'm sorry Abou but we will have to go another way' sounds like a fair conversation from a fair man. It is unfortunate that players like RvP spit this in his face.

Agree9 Disagree2

Hanson??? WTF?!?!?!?

I don't know why I check this site out several times every day. I'm just addicted even though I know that 99% of all the rumours here are BS and even that 1% is filled with lucky guesses without any real "inside connections"

Anyway, keep up the good work ED's

Agree8 Disagree2

Diaby is probably our best midfielder if fully fit, Sagna said himself that if Diaby was injury free, he would easily be Frances best player.

Agree7 Disagree6

Jesus christ!
'diaby is probably our best midfielder when fit'
seen it all now

Agree6 Disagree5

My aunt would be my uncle if she were a bloke! Diaby will never be fit so it is does not matter.

337

Agree4 Disagree3

All you Diaby doubters, look what our manager said about him : You can't imagine how happy I am firstly to have him in the squad, because he is an exceptional player, Wenger said. I am cautious but confident because he had two hard weeks and came through it well.

This tour is another decider for him. He will play on Tuesday night and now it is down to uncontrolled movement in games: how does your body react to that? I am confident with what I have seen in training that he will do it.

He is the first player who would be on the France teamsheet in midfield when he is fit. Laurant Blanc said that before the European Championship and he waited a very long time to know if he could play or not. But he couldn't.

Looks like Ben was right...
Ed if RvP was to have a medical at a big club would he pass/fail? Or would they not even bother with one like what happened to demba ba and arteta? Just curious.
Also guys would Doumbia fit the bill a real goal poacher and a fox in the box a bit like eduardo with more muscle essentially like drogba or is he too similar to Olivier Giroud?
All of our recent signings have a lot more muscle than previous signings
Podolski vs gervinho
Giroud vs Chamakh/park chu young (our latest forward signings before this summer excluding cambell)
1732 {Ed002's Note - RvP played more than 50 games last year - recent medical history and fitness seems more appropriate to past issues.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

LOL, you obviously haven't watched Giroud and Doumbia if you think they are similar. Doumbia is a lot smaller and faster, he's more like Rooney than Giroud.

Agree5 Disagree0

More like rooney? rooney is not like doumbia! :L that made me laugh, i agree he is nothing like giroud, but he's much more like suarez than many other premier league strikers but even they have their differences.

Agree4 Disagree2

He is more like aguero but can't shoot aswell

JW.19

Agree3 Disagree1

Basically hes walcott playing down the middle

Hi ed just wondering if there is any truth within the rumours about cazorla to arsenal? would be a great signing if we got him, reminds me slightly of the Mata rumours from last year
G gooner {Ed002's Note - Cazorla is almost certainly going to leave Malaga with interest being shown by Arsenal and Spurs.}

Believable11 Unbelievable5

If you read Wengers latest comments on Arsenal.com on why this tour is crucial to Diaby then you will know that all our transfer rumours are all bulls**t!!

Agree3 Disagree4

Arsene Wenger has apparently said 'I don't know this guy'!

Doesn't look promising! {Ed035's Note - he said that with a cheeky smile on his face, come on people this is normal for us to say we aren't interested in a player

Agree9 Disagree0

Ofc wenger knows him lol !

Frankly I don't believe a word wenger says at conferences as far as transfers are concerned- he can tell the media a 100 times we are not interested, etc in a player and then very next day the same player is on arsenal.com signed!

Agree6 Disagree1

Mikel Arteta being a case in point.

Agree7 Disagree0

Wenger knows fully who he is, he said it jokingly, he Was interested before he moved to Malaga
