Cuenca(Barca ) is being looked at after missing out on Zaha, which yes we were in for him

The deal if it goes through will be a loan, and Barca will give us first option on David Villa in the summer,

Why you may ask? Cuenca is just back from injury and needs game time, and Arsenal would be willing to give him the game time and hence getting the first option on DV.

Cuenca will fail in the PL if he comes that's the only problem, to brittle and not enough pace for a winger.

But it gets us DV so i'm happy.

Wenger will make a late bid for Villa hoping Barca change their mind.

Iv also been told that Diame was only looked at as cover for Diaby but he seems to be fine atm, and he was never considered for the DM position, and that a high profile signing is being looked at. Coquelin may go to betis on loan as a Result.

matt hummels to sign before end of transfer window, makes sense as we are after a defensive midfilder who can also attak and break up play, His main position is central defender, but he enjoys coming from the back four to start attacks for his team. He has been employed as a defensive midfielder when he played for the German national youth teams. Mats Hummels has very good technique in the tackle and often out-muscles his opponents with his strength and height. He also has the pace to catch up with fast opponents and win the ball back. His reading of the game is one of his main strengths, often frustrating his opponents with his well-timed interceptions and long passing capability. Hummels' style of play with the sweeper-like quality has been compared to the likes of the great German defender Franz Beckenbauer.

I don't understand how this rumour keeps going around.

Why would Dortmund want to sell a world class centre back and ruin their chances at a great run in the Champions League especially considering he extended his contract with them over the summer?

It will NOT happen.

This won't happen - Dortmund are not prepared to sell any of their players and his contract finishes in 2017 (which he signed last summer). He is very happy in Dortmund and the club are doing extremely well. It would seem like a move in the wrong direction to join Arsenal.

For me this is just as unlikley as the Cavani rumour.

Hummels is one of the best defenders in the world at present and already playing a very good side.

Would he benefit much moving to arsenal? I would imagine, if he were available, most of the top clubs in the world would blow us out of the water with a bigger fee and better wages.

At the same time, I cannot see Wenger paying the kind of money it would require to even get Dortmund around the table. He likes his 3 CBs and none of them would sit on the bench at arsenal for too long without wanting out.

Diame deal will not happen. Looks like Wenger is aiming higher. So it will probably be Gustavo, Sapoue or Wanyama on the dm position !:D

Would be good signing as he is Under 21, talented & British.
On the negative side he is young & inexperienced.

Think the problem here is not us it the player he's just broken into the England team and wants 1st team football. But would be a great signing add serious competition for the no1 jersey!

Diame for 3.5 million done deal, and 50k a week wages, we will only sign one more player before the end of the window, and it will definitely be a striker.
