3 things expect saurez to put in a transfer requiest very soon and arsenal to up bid to around 45 million for him also people worried bout madrid comen in for him I think there sights are set on bale tbh

Believable55 Unbelievable23

Am I the only gooner thinking this is crazy? Weve never spent £40-£50mill in a transfer window never mind one player? Suarez hell ov a player but if this type ov money is there shidnt we be buying 2-3 star players? seems bit ov a panic buy to please fans as missed out on navas, jovetic, higuin etc. is this arsenal classic summer pr machine building up season ticket sales?

Agree5 Disagree1

Can some of us arsenal fans ever be pleased?! Panic buying? £40 odd million for a proven premier league player and with over a month of the transfer window still open, how can this be a panic buy?

Ronan

Agree1 Disagree1

If you offer £60 million then it may be accepted {Ed027's Note - lol dreamer

Agree0 Disagree0

They want over 50m for him, let's just bid £50,000, 001:-)

Agree3 Disagree0

If Saurez puts in a transfer request I'd expect the deal to be between £40/£45 mil since Liverpool wouldn't have to pay him the so called loyalty bonus he would be due.

Agree0 Disagree0

100% PR stunt

Suarez to rm
Rooney to go chelsea if not eitherway not us
We get cisse

Agree1 Disagree1

I find this Suarez buisness hard to belive as the guy is unstable and constantly in the media spotlight. I would rather see the whole squad strengthened all round with quality signings rather than blowing a large chunk of the tranfer money on the looper.

Agree1 Disagree1

I agree. We get cisse. Suarez is a stunt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Some of the posts on here make me laugh - bidding to boost season ticket sales? just so you know renewal for season tickets was the end of May - PR stunt? so we pretended to bid did we? twice? but we are not serious - come on! 2 things this deal will now depend on - Suarez handing in a transfer request and RM not bidding, if both these things happen, expect to see him in an Arsenal shirt lads!

Gooner1974

Agree0 Disagree0

100% PR stunt

dont be silly - season ticket sale already happened -- whos the stunt aimed at.

Agree0 Disagree0

Please not Cisse I think that is a major risk and possible waste of money we should be looking to sign someone who would be a first team striker. For me Giroud is equally as good if not better.

That's one for you anyway!

Wenger says that the reason he never went for Higuain is because. He's a 2nd striker and his value can buy at least 2 promising strikers (arsenal insider)

Believable24 Unbelievable38

Bruv, stop eavesdropping, better still, "stop" hallucinating" you are, and Will never be an insider,
Mofaya

Agree0 Disagree1

Doesn't matter now.

Agree1 Disagree0

Real are so p. ssed that they can't get Wenger from us that they will stitch us whenever they can.

In Arsene we Trust

Agree0 Disagree0

What top team would want to buy wenger? he is an ok mananger but hasn't won anything for 8 years and counting. i'm a gooner btw

Agree0 Disagree0

Name one other top manager who can pay off a stadium with transfer profit over 8 years and still consistently be in the champs league? Fergie? Mourinho? Moyes?

Agree0 Disagree0

Just want to point out nearly every top team in the world has attempted to pry wenger from us (bayern for example before the champions league tie earlier this year). there's no pleasing some fans, wish they would appreciate what we've got whilst we still have it

GTID

Agree1 Disagree0

Sure. He says higuains value could buy two promising strikers then bid 40 mil for Suarez. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger didn't sign Higuain simply because he's a fool

Reports from Spain are saying that real madrid are using the money from the Higuain sale to make a 70 million pound bid for bale and are ending their pursuit of Luis Suarez

Believable50 Unbelievable13

24 Jul 2013 19:19:30
I can't imagine real being content with only one out and put striker

HooverGooner

Agree0 Disagree1

Wenger is going to leave it to late once higs deal is confirmed real madrid will contact liverpool right away then we have no chance as that would be suarez first choice we need to bid 50m by tommorow ors he will be a real madrid player within days

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes this hopefully will be the case. Although Bale still could go to untied and then Madrid get luis and then the PR campaign is fully utilised!

Agree0 Disagree0

The sticking point will always be the fee. I just can not see Arsenal paying £50M for Suarez, although he is the type of player that we need. On another point, we are just as bad as I have heard that we rejected an £8M bid for Gervinho and in my opinion that is about £7. 5M more than he is worth.

Agree2 Disagree0

24 jul 2013 18:50:41
i can confirm once higs napoli deal goes through real madrid will make contact with liverpool right away over luis suarez spanish source! you will hear more on this in the nxt 48 hours

Believable21 Unbelievable49

Yep, and they will buy him we will be left with no one, then the excuses will come

Agree1 Disagree0

Down fall is if we don't come in with a bid of 50m by some time tommorow there's no chance let's be honest liverpool would rather sell suarez to madrid as where a premier league rival somtimes u need to spend 50m to get the best an will wenger do that we all no what he's like we will end up with darren bent instead

Agree1 Disagree0

Why would madrid sell one striker and replace with another the reason hig left was because benzema and ronaldo are golden boys there

Agree2 Disagree0

We Will See On That 1

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes we will hear in the next 48 hours. Lots and lots of Higuain/Suarez rumours, so what's new then this month lol.

As for bidding in the next 24hours, let's way and see hey chaps.

This is Arsenal everything is done slow and as quiet as possible.

Keep calm and smile people (good luck at calm).

Seems like a stupid clause. why allow player to talk if you are not going to sell at that price. Arswers on a postcard. km {Ed052's Note -Because LS will use it to try to get a move}

Liverpool won't let Suarez go until his £50 million valuation is met. He has been given permission do speak to the Gunners.

Cesar likes London and wants to stay in England so he will hopefully play for us next season.

Believable32 Unbelievable9

He has a lot of baggage and for that reason he is not worth £50m. Give it a season or two and he will want to leave. He might be a good players but not long ago he hated the press here and wanted to move abroad. He is playing a game, don't get me wrong, if he does sign and scores a lot of goals then great but not for £50m

Suarez will be holding talks with arsenal.

expect arsenal to launch a fresh bid of 45mil.

Believable27 Unbelievable23

We clearly want him, so why don't we just offer £50M and get this over and done with before Real Madrid get involved. We should be getting in excess of £6M for Gervinho so that should still leave us somewhere in the region of £26M to spend on Cesar and Williams.

Agree2 Disagree1

Agree just pay the 50 they want he class

Agree1 Disagree1

Liverpool won't sell Suarez for 45 mill when they paid 35 for Carroll and 20 mill for Jordan Henderson it will take 50 at least come on wenger pay the cash before real come in for him.

Agree0 Disagree1

I agree if we don't do the deal soon real madrid will arsenal need to act quick cause once madrid put a bid in then there's only 1 place he will be going

Agree1 Disagree0

He's good, but not 50mils worth of good, not when you think that we sold Van pursestrings for only 20mil.

Agree2 Disagree1

Did anyone else notice Suarez lack of enthusiasm for both the game and club in Melbourne tonight? Is he on his way out (I think so)

Agree0 Disagree1

Never thought I'd see the day arsenal flash around 40-50 mil for a player. oh happy days

Agree1 Disagree0

Call me old school but 50 mil is far too much money to pay for a player.
That being said, these are the times we live in. AW has done a fantastic job keeping us in the champions league with the players at his disposal but he seems to have lost that knack of finding absolute gems for next to nothing. So the only currently viable alternative is to spend big on the best players, if we want to truly be title contenders again and do it now.

Agree0 Disagree1

Liverpool demand £50 million

L'equipe announces a third and final bid from arsenal to convince lfc. It is said to be around 42M. They say he's willing to negociate with us.
Stan

Believable12 Unbelievable18

What a waste of time this Suarez bidding is. Real will easily outbid Arsenal and Real Madrid is the club he wants to play for. This is just some stupid exercise that will lead to nothing but newspaper headlines so Arsenal can say we tried to sign this player or we went after that player but it didn't work out. Arsenal are turning into a laughing stock.

Agree1 Disagree2

I have just replied on another post. on that one we were penny ponching because we wouldn't bid higher now we are a laughing stock because we are bidding higher!

The only reason I can see for being a laughing stock is the fans who slag off 'their' football club constantly. Try backing 'your club' instead of continuously slagging it off, calling for your managers head, and talking ba11ox generally!

SamKT

Agree1 Disagree2

Never thought I see the day when arsenal bid 40mill for one player but we need to go all out now for saurez and pay the 50 mill liverpool want

Agree0 Disagree1

Agree with SamKT there. Why are we a laughing stock. Mancs keep bidding for Cesc when it's supposedly obvious he isn't going to sign, Rm bidding for bale, etc. Give us some credit as a football club. most of these rumours are started by the what the press put out.

Julio cesar-3mil
Toby alderwield-7mil
Capoue-8mil
Bernard-16mil

Believable12 Unbelievable54

Bernard will cost 20-21m not 16m he has a release clause.

Capoue is no longer a target for us instead Cardiff are now after him and look likeliest to sign him. He is overrated and not Arsenal standard anyway.

Omit Capoue for Kondogbia
Add Suarez

and leave a space for the possible return of Fabregas and your predictions look more accurate.

Agree0 Disagree1

What an absolute load of rubbish you have posted. Firstly Bernard's buyout clause is £21mil. Secondly we will not be signing Capoue, he's been linked with Monaco however they have just signed a DM and also Capoue is on Cardiff's radar. Alderwield is of interest from Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool, Norwich (couldn't agree personal terms) and Southampton (apparently).

has higuain gone to napoli or is it paper talk

dave {Ed007's Note - No he will probably sign for Napoli in the coming days if everything goes as planned.}

Believable37 Unbelievable6

I see the lad is having yet another medical this time at napoli

dave

Agree0 Disagree1

Is the plan for Arsenal to cleverly avoid spending lots of money?

Agree0 Disagree0

Reina and higuin having medicals at napoli today. Could ov been 2 good signings for us and both wanted to come. 2 missed targets over fees again

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, it is the same old story - penny pinching Arsenal will miss out on 2 more quality players. To make matters worse it is possible that Cesc could even be at OT next season which for die hard Arsenal fans would be the final straw. Don't worry though we have had convincing pre-season wins against Pub teams during our tour of Asia and I am sure that Mr Wenger will put a "spin" on this. It saddens me to think that we are no longer really looking to compete for the title and seem content to scrape into 4th place every season. Cheer up though we could be Spurs fans!

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm very sad.

AP

Agree0 Disagree0

Bernard for £21m in a position that already has adequate cover.
Suarez bid is £40m
Yet we let Higuian go past for £30m.
It makes no sense.

Agree0 Disagree0

People moaning that we missed out on Higuain need to put things into perspective. A deal was pretty much tied up until Madrid moved the goalposts and demanded another 10mil. Think about it would you put up with that when buying a new car for example, you go to pick up the keys, and the salesman says, oh sorry sir the price of your new car has gone up 30% since we agreed the price, but because no contract was signed it's tuff. Eeeeerm eff off mr car salesman I'll go elsewhere thanks very much.

Agree4 Disagree0

He has a medical at Napoli today with Reina - hope this helps

Agree0 Disagree0

I need to vent my frustration over this move. How has Wenger and the board allowed Higuain to slip from their clutches! It's embarrassing and quite frankly associating the club with a deserved tag of penny pinchers. Time after time the club has not pushed the boat out regarding transfer fees showing the true desire for the player/s, when will this policy and attitude end? let's us say for arguments sake nothing comes to fruition with the Suarez deal (which to me looks the case), can anybody name an available striking talent of the same calibre? Because i'm struggling, if there is no club additions for the Emirates club there really needs to be a revolt from the fans, as it is not good enough when you consider significant annual ticket price raises. Sort it out.

RobinHoodGunner

Agree0 Disagree1

Since when has 10mil been seen as penny pinching? or to put it more appropriately and incease of a price agreed in principle of over 50%! No one on this site can, with their hand on thier heart, tell me that they would happily pay an extra 50% over an above an agreed price for anything or anyone!

A bit of common sense please arsenal fans and not the usual football manager rubbich I keep seeing on here!

SamKT

Agree1 Disagree0

Unfortunately, the transfer window is going just as many predicted for us. Our reported targets end up elsewhere for whatever reason and we end up signing some clown at the 'right' price but wrong quality on deadline day.
Is this our 'statement of intent'?
This is just heart breaking.

Agree0 Disagree0

SamKT if the player improves the squad then the price tag is worth it! A philosophy the club clearly doesn't seem to believe in. I guarantee Higuain makes a huge impact in Naples and we will have yet again been beaten to our targets.

Believable35 Unbelievable17

Liverpool have rejected a 40 mil and £1 offer from us

Believable57 Unbelievable7

This is getting stupid, Liverpool won't sell to Arsenal.

Agree3 Disagree0

Thats what they say now so AW will offer them £40,000, 002

Agree3 Disagree0

Last season you all wanted him departed now you screaming to get him, just wonder if you won't get him will you still abuse him?
add 10 more and we might think

Agree1 Disagree0

You might think? So you have some sort of say in whether Suarez goes? 50 million for Suarez? Get a grip, if he doesn't go this summer he'll go in January for half that after a long ban and a dip in form because of a bad attitude. He clearly doesn't want to be at the club. I admire liverpools stance on not selling him to a rival, it makes sense. You can be sure though if real had offered 40mil he would be gone. I don't think the money is that issue, it's the fact it's arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jul 2013 13:06:19
You're forgetting how fickle football fans are in general, of course Arsenal fans will love him and forgive all his sins of he signs for them, just like LFC supporters do now. One rule for one, another rule for everyone else. Football brings out the worse in people and makes normal nice individuals hypocritical and spiteful. Can't explain why we all love it, but we do!

Agree1 Disagree0

Strange isn't it that rival Premer League clubs won't sell to Arsenal, yet we are more than happy to let our star players move to Manchester United or Man City as long as we can bank a few quid. The problem is not with Mr Wenger, but the Board who just want to count money rather than trophies. They seem to want to spend the bare minimum to get us into the top 4 and reap the benefits of the Champions League cash. Nothing will change until the board are ousted.

Agree0 Disagree0

The LFC fan isn't far off imo. £45m to get their attention, £47.5m to force it through.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was told the extra £1 wasn't part of the Suarez bid, but was actually a alternate bid for Stewart Downing.
