Alvarez will sign for Arsenal on 1st July, unless the Palermo president is lying... and to the person who said that alvarez was like a left footed Pires, PIRES WAS LEFT FOOTED!

Go on cescs twitter page. In the background there is what looks like a picture of himself with Barca colours arund the collar and shirt...

Saw on espnsoccernet that the Wolfsburg Coach is allowing Brazilian midfielder Diego to leave the club after a series of "falling outs" with the club. He could be an EXPERIENCED midfielder that we are lacking. He can score goals and creat them. Also he could be brought in as a replacement for an outgoing player with the similar creativity role in the midfield. Since he is a want-away player, AW can snatch him up for a cut price. Not sold on his attitude, but hey people can change. He's got talent and can fit into the Arsneal style of play.
Whatcha think ed?

Strong indication that Ricky Alvarez has signed for Arsenal and will sign July 1st - according to the Palermo president and reported on Goal.com the deal has already been struck. I for one am very happy about this - from what I 've seen of him he reminds me of a left-footed Robert Pires; exactly what we need a left footed winger, who's not 5'07! {Ed022's Note - Honestly, I have heard Ricky Alvarez's name banded about A LOT in the last few weeks but nothing concrete for my sources. One week today and we can really see what's going on. I expect a lot of announcements from a lot of clubs as things have been agreed a long time.}

The Palermo manager has not said that Alvarez has signed a contract, read the report properly. He says that we are in talks along with Mallorca as well.
24 Jun 2011 16:26:29
We need to be patient. Gazidis & Wenger are in the process of securing players. By all accounts we have signed Gervinho & Alvarez on pre-contracts, which cant be announced until 1st July when most European countries transfer windows open. I would love to see us sign Fellani & Baines from Everton, Samba & Cahill.
Sales/releases; Denilson, Clichy, Squilacci, Bendtner, Eboue & Abu Diaby. Also Fabregas, if he wants to go & Barca stump up the fee we require.
24 Jun 2011 16:22:16
baines (best LB in the prem)
a good striker from abroad (leave that 2 wenger)
gary cahill (england international)
also a cheap good deal would be 2million for kasper smhiechel a quality keeper
sell: vela part exchange for odemwingie
bendner 11m a.villa
almunia 4m a. villa
denilson 8m sevilla
diaby 10m ????
Clichy 8m roma

Hi, this will be my last post of the day but the chief sports writer of the Daily Mirror has posted on his Twitter account - "Understand there may be about to be movement in Arsenal's transfer dealings. Meetings to finalise targets yesterday and today". I don't mean to get everyone's hopes up before tomorrow when this time next week we will be stuck in the same position.
But is there the possibility that he is right? Could Wenger finally be about to buy someone? If so, who? And finally will this be the beginning of a spending spree or a little flutter on a French teenager?
Will like to hear everyones opinion on who they want it to be and why.
Thanks
Harry
im a new poster so go easy on me.. its ricky alvarez .. the palermo president said so ..
24 Jun 2011 14:56:50
ed, who do you think arsenal should sign if clichy were to leave?
Matt {Ed002's Note - I expected an echange for Menez. Is Baines an option?}
24 Jun 2011 14:44:57
Ed Is it true Arsenal have signed Alverez {Ed002's Note - I know no more than you do which is a hint from the Palermo president that a deal is in place.}
24 Jun 2011 14:32:45
edd are any other teams intrested in fabregas because im sure we can get more than 27mil for him. i think arsenal should not accept anything less than 40mil. also edd if fabregas stays any chance stripping him from the captaincy and giving it to vermaelen {Ed002's Note - I don't think any are as it is likely to be a lost course. Perhaps City could make a bid?}
24 Jun 2011 13:53:09
Hey ed, what have you heard about this renewed interest in Alvarez? From what I read we're actually meeting Velez Sarsfield's asking price of around 11 million...Any chance this could happen?
Thanks,
Ty {Ed002's Note - I know no more than you do which is a hint from the Palermo president that a deal is in place.}

24 Jun 2011 14:52:13
alvarez is an arsenal player already but July 1st we will find out the truth.
24 Jun 2011 14:43:22
Palermo president says that Arsenal have agreed a contract for Alvarez. Could be interesting.
Anyone thinking Cesc will join another club in England are dreaming. Cesc will only move abroad, if he does at all.
Also Ramsey will under no circumstances go out on loan.

Lol not quite ike, I think me and you are at different ends of the pessimistic scale. I honestly have no idea why people disagree with some of those posts. It might be the way you come across I guess.
I dnt think things are AS bad as you think, but at the same time I am recognising that there is a steady decline occuring. And it seems as though there is no way to rectify it without spending big-ish..
I wonder how things will be in 10 years?
Eman.

According to GoonerTalk
Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has told an Italian radio station that Velez attacking midfielder Ricardo Alvarez has 'signed for Arsenal'.
If true will be anounced 1 July

Marquee signing... Eto'o! All deals to be done and dusted by the time the Emirates cup kicks off... watch this space...
24 Jun 2011 13:38:49
For the final time, gervinho or any other player based outside of the uk cannot move clubs untill July 1st - when the international transfer window opens.
Alot of people on here seem to lack the ability to read previous threads. READ THIS ONE!

hi ed, just replying the barca cesc offer. opening bid 27m is taking the p!**, how about double that n chuck in a promising youngster, or even better, the arsenal should insist on cash plus villa, or 55/60 m, or no deal, we can cope with out cesc, how ever, we need top quality strengthening, in a few areas.we all know where.once intrenational window opens(next week).im confident wenger will do the right things.
thanks for ur time.
richie.the arsenal. {Ed002's Note - Affelay?}
24 Jun 2011 10:51:16
Ed, whats happening with the Gervinho situation.
It was meant to be "almost a done deal" about two weeks ago.
And i wish Barcelona would stop putting valuations on players that they don't own, i don't mind if Fabragas is sold but if you cant afford him walk away. {Ed002's Note - Nothing can happen yet anyway, don't panic.}
24 Jun 2011 11:46:00
hi guys any truth in the rumour that bendner is on the verge of signing for the villa and ramsey will be joining him on loan should get 8-10 mil for bendner but i think we should hold on to ramsey untill we know whats happening to fab

Hi Guys

and anybody else looking forward to seeing Henry back playing at the Emirates this summer in the Emirates Cup!
24 Jun 2011 08:43:16
if this cliche to psg rumour is true could this mean sakho coming the other way?? he can play lb and cb so would be an ideal replacement.
also i saw a post asking why the gervinho deal is taking ages. am i the only gooner who hopes it DOESNT happen. there are far better strikers we should go for, eto'o, defoe even anelka.

Hi Guys!!
So from last night we have found out that Barca put in a ludcrisouly low offer for Cesc Fabregas. I find that offer quite insulting and find it strange how they always go on about how bad they want him but never put in a serious bid. Yesterday Cesc also came out and complimented Pep Guardiola saying that he was his idol. Was this just a nice gesture or is Cesc himself trying to push a move through.
Anyway regarding players coming in the Daily Mail think that Arsenal have rekindled their interest in Ricky Alvarez. Could he possibly be a replacement of either Nasri, Fabregas or even possibly Arshavin? It also begs the question is it worth his price tag to buy a relatively unknown player for such a large sum of money?
Apart from that not a lot of rumours today although I do expect it to pick up from the first of July.
So what is evryones opinions on the Cesc saga and Barcas bid. How much shall we let him leave for? Should we let him leave? Could we cope with him and even win a trophy next year?
Thanks!
Harry

Hi ed just wondering if you knew if these clichy departing rumours are true?
Kieran {Ed002's Note - It is on the cards. I had expected a straight swap with Roma for Jeremy Menez - but Clichy does not seem keen on moving to Rome (and I don't blame him).}
23 Jun 2011 20:47:54
Ed look what i found on the spuds page:
"Ed008, i have an idea. How about you and Ed022 have a lil showdown debate sorta thing between arsenal and tottenham? We could include posters in it as well?
Up for it? {Ed008's Note - I don't mind a bit of banter but im outnumbered when it comes Arsenal fans vs Tottenham fans out of the Ed's."
so...ARE YOU UP FOR IT?!
lol :P
RIGSBY
p.s. welcome. Its about time we got our own ed. {Ed002's Note - Not satisfied with me then (sobs and hangs head).}
23 Jun 2011 20:20:06
edd are arsenal intrested in moussa sissokho {Ed002's Note - Interest in Toulouse's Moussa Sissoko from both Juventus and Milan is on the rise. Liverpool will be looking to tie up a deal for the player. Damien Comolli has already let Sissoko's agent know that Liverpool see his man as the ideal long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard. Aside from strong interest from Juventus and AC Milan, Genoa and probably Napoli are also interested. Arsenal's interest is transient at best.}
23 Jun 2011 20:04:44
Gervinho and Samba will be Arsenal players come July
Alvarez is waiting to agree a fee then hopefully that will be done
Eto'o, Chamberlain, Barton and McGregor are all on wengers shopping list aswell apparently
23 Jun 2011 19:57:30
Hi Ed is it true AW is going to make a move for Xabi Alonso should Cesc leave? {Ed002's Note - I think it is very unlikely given his age and price.}
24 Jun 2011 04:16:11
Arsenal have rejected a £27 million bid for Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona. Im expecting Barca to give it another go
