With Manolas now gone we are cutting things very fine, for all the fancy dan signings a few weeks ago that good work could be wasted if we don't add a couple this week.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - There is plenty of time. Representatives from many of the major clubs will be hanging out together on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Sat on the yacht of a super agent, I am sure after a couple of Singapore Slings some business may be possible. It will certainly be discussed. Arsenal will be represented, I am not sure by whom but perhaps Mr Wenger will attend for the Thursday. Then it will be back the Epsilons to work the paperwork in a rush for next Monday evening, and the pleasure of the last day panic shopping.}

Ed,

We are putting our trust in you as well as Mr Wenger.

I bet you are good at Poker?

Coolness personified.

Agree0 Disagree0

Theres still plenty of time but we could have had this deal tied up a week ago.I think its penny pinching again with the salary old habits die hard

Agree0 Disagree1

I too am beginning to worry that we are not going to ding anybody by Monday deadline!
We need 3 players especially if Poldaski leaves!

If we do not get these then we will struggle to make the top 4 let alone win the league!?!.

Agree0 Disagree1

His agent has denied that there is any interest in Italy and specfically said he has heard nothing from Roma.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed I don't know if I should be happy or not but giroud may be out for 3 months, chance of a replacement?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is a dreadful thing for a so called fan to wish ill on a player.}

Manolas isn't a done deal by ant stretch, I hope AW has something up his sleeve, I have to say I am still scratching my head as to why TV left before we got a replacement .

Believable4 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Manolas has agreed terms with Roma as a replacement for Benatia. His agent does no understand why Arsenal failed to complete the deal last week.}

Ed02 which are the other defensive targets if we couldn't sign manol as? Thanz in advance

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Alderweireld but there have already been discussion about him with another team - have to be quick.}

So as it stands we're heading into the season with a 19 year old as our 3rd CB, brilliant!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - How can his age be of any relevance at all?}

I think he has proven good enough to be 3rd choice. Although we do need another

Agree0 Disagree0

Chambers will play himself into the team in the next season or two. At some sort of defensive position, anyway. He's an absolutely brilliant player, and at 19 I am only excited, not depressed in any way.

Get behind your damn team

Obviously just hearsay but,

Khedira doesn't want to sign a new contract at RM.

RM don't want to keep him.

If they do keep him for another year, he will be a free agent and they will lose him on a Bosman.

Not sure if I have heard any other clubs interested in him (there probably is).

Khedira to Arsenal, perfect match?

Believable6 Unbelievable10

If Real Madrid don't want to take a loss on Khedira, why should Arsenal bail them out. Far better to wait a year then take our chances against other suiters. That said next summer Khedira will be a stick-on for a move to Bayern Munich, that's why they are not making any attempt to sign him this season.

Agree1 Disagree0

Dags, I think you know my answer already! But let's just say that if he signs I would be so happy I am thinking of getting a Khediria tattoo on one butt cheek, the German flag on the other, and will happily run up and down Epping high street with both proudly on show whilst shouting " schnell schnell karltoffenkopf. "

Agree1 Disagree0

From what is being reported Khedira has said he wants to stay and Real Madrid and fight for his place. As much as I would love to see him signing, I don't think it is going to happen now

Agree0 Disagree0

Epping,

I do worry about you.

I think Luiz Gustavo would be the best player we could sign between now and the end of the summer, in terms of filling exactly what we need. Does Arsene have an interest in signing him?

Believable5 Unbelievable10

{Ed025's Note - not that i am aware doddy..

I agree with that, he is quality

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to respectfully disagree on that one, during the World Cup he was shown up by the better teams, aside from Colombia, mainly because Brazil kicked James to pieces. Hi passing was well bellow par. Viera was such a good defensive midfielder because he had great technical ability particularly passing range. I feel it would be a backwards step signing Gustavo as he is not champions league quality and will ne'er be.

Hi Ed,
I read a report claiming Sporting may lower their asking price for Carvalho if they can get a player or two on loan from us. The report even mentions Miyaichi and Coquelin, players definitely surplus to requirements at Arsenal. Is their any truth, to any of it?

Believable7 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - It would be negotiable if Arsenal exchanged or loaned a player - the point is that no one is prepared to pay the full asking price.}

I'm sure Sporting Lisbon would jump at the chance of the loan of Abou Diaby for the next 12 months. About the time it will take him to be fit again!

Agree0 Disagree0

Id offload flamini if he could be persuaded

Media saying we are interested in Gustavo today any truth Eds or is this just the usual nonsense linking us to every available player. Thanks.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - See previous answer.}

Hi Ed
Is Lukas Podolski off then. shame, I think he is quite effective as a court jester and super sub

Believable9 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Probably.}

25 Aug 2014 07:03:19
Hey ed any knowledge as to the accuracy of reports linking us with luiz Gustavo? Thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Sounds like recycled news. Inter Milan, Monaco, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea were interested in Gustavo earlier in the summer. However, Wolfsburg may well of priced him out of the market although talks have continued with Monaco.}

Eds, mind clearing a few things up for me please?

According to my old man we had a deal and personal terms agreed for Reus before he was injured. At which point, we backed out and went after Sanchez, any truth to this?

There also seems to be a lot of speculation that we are back in talks with Reus and are looking to sign him before next Monday. Is this just speculation or is there more to it?

And what is the craic with Khedira.

Cheers

{Ed002's Note - I thought this had been done to death. Try the search engine and I would not hold your breath about a move to Arsenal this summer.
