Afternoon all, i'm beginning to hear a few good words in an around the club regarding ola toivonen. Very promising 26 year old attacking midfielder.

The transfer is likely to be in and around the 10m mark but it is still some way off. But I believe interest has been there for some time from mr wenger.

Toivonen is keen on joining the club and could be an instant fans favourite in my opinion.

He would be a decent squad player, no doubt, and that is something that we need, as our bench is always under-powered.

I agree ted, If this does go through. I think he would be brought purely for depth and rotation.

Purchase

Big no no! Toivonen is not good enough for Norwich. I know followed Toivonen for a long time being Swedish. 10M not Worth 5M.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is very similar to Giroud. We need more options in offence I agree, but I don't think Toivonen is the man. He is class, but we don't need him now.

Im from sweden and ola toivonen would not be a good purchase! he is bad, to be fair. hope wnger will spwnd his money better.

Agree0 Disagree0

He would be an Amazing signing. He's finishing is pure quality.

watched this gut playing against Ireland didn't look all that special against a very workmanlike Irish midfield I don't think we need an attacking mid jack cazorla rosicky and arteta at a push can play there now and coming through we have eisfield need an out and out striker more and a dm has to be victor wanyama of celtic him and jack in the middle behind cazorla we would be hard stopped

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely someone at 26 years old isn't 'promising' any more. Shouldn't he be delivering on his 'promise' by now?

Agree0 Disagree0

Check his stats out. He does deliver

This is what upsets me as an arsenal fan: I read one article about how we are likely to be priced out of getting jovetic because the asking price is £25m and then the next article I read says we may sign Nathaniel Chalobah. I'm tired of us missing out on big names because Wenger refuses to splash the cash which everyone knows we have. Chalobah is 18, and while in the future he may be fantastic, we need players that can have an immediate impact, like jovetic. Anyway Chalobah has been with Chelsea his whole career so I highly doubt he'd join us anyway.

Don't blame Wenger when it comes to money, blame fat greedy Kronke, owns the club for money and money only, don't really care about winning anything aslong as he makes profit. While it is a business you need to keep the fans happy. Wenger gets the best players with the money he has access to, but yes we always lose out a big name chase.

Agree0 Disagree1

Is 25m really that much for a world class player in today's market. Bugs me too but I would love to know who is refusing to spend. Is it arsene or the board or is Ivan just s**t at negotiations

Agree0 Disagree0

It's nonsense.

His "Release Clause" is 25m GBP yes. Which is roughly 30m Euro's. AFC have already bid 19. 25m GBP. Another 1. 75m and they will accept though. {Ed029's Note - Doesn't work like that mate.}

Agree0 Disagree0

First never believe the newspapers! And second 30 mil is very big price tag for Jovetic. Yes he is a beast, but does he worth 30+mil. 20 mil forsure, 25 mil may be, but for 30+ I'm not sure!

firstly paper talk is always mischievous but its not just Stan Kroenke that agrees the transfer policy or money being spent ~ the whole board, IG and AW need to take a good hard look at the mess the squad is in and sort it out!
I can list ten 1st team squad members that are either on loan (at what cost to us?) or contribute nothing and are wasting money in both value and salaries ~ swap them for 3 or 4 class players and I believe great things will happen!
however, it will take a stronger, less risk averse, management team all round and a slightly better scouting team than we have a present!

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on, and proof of our scouting ineptitude look at the under 21s and under 18s league positions this season

Agree0 Disagree0

We all know we are not even gunna attempt to sign jovetic and if you believe we are your deluded. players we will look to sign will be good players from average teams who have been big fishes in small ponds for years! don't expect big name signings cus your just gunna be left dissapointed

Agree1 Disagree0

You have got it spot on jackdeladd, spot on. We are shelling money out in wages to players with zero contribution now and not looking any better in the future. that's is due to some of Arsenals appalling transfers in the last few years, who, s fault it is?. Has I said before the buck stops fairly and squarely at AW, s desk.
