Hi all,

Been a while since I've posted, hope all are well!

Eds, any news if we've looked at Higuain?

He's in devastating form at the moment, and is the striker highest on my wish list - probably the most attainable too!

Would much rather have him over Morata!

Thanks!

Iraaj.

{Ed001's Note - why would he be the most attainable? He has settled in Naples and is held in almost as high an esteem as Maradona was. I wouldn't hold my breath on getting him, though Napoli would have to consider silly offers.}

thats the most sense iv heard all year ed. he suits how napoli play don't think he would bang that many in for us. italian football suits him.

Higuain would be almost perfect for us, but like Ed1 said we've got almost no chance of getting him.

Napoli don't need to sell and even if the player wanted to leave he'd still command a big fee and big wages. He'd also draw interest from Chelsea, PSG etc and we simply can't/ won't compete with them.

Many thanks for your reply Ed!

Are we not looking to pay the big fee and wages he commands if we want what he brings to the team - goals.

We're going to have to learn if we're spending £30M+ on midfielders, we're expected to pay far more for the strikers who get us the goals to win the league.

In terms of attainability, my opinion is simply I thought he'd be more likely to leave than say Aubs/ Benzema/ Lewandoski.

I'm not too keen on the idea of Morata, but that's my two cents.

And Sanogo, I think he would be the perfect fit for us. He has some pace (more than Giroud) , clinical finisher and can play with his back to goal. The thought of Ozil behind gives me goosebumps (Ozil behind any quality striker would send shivers down anyone's spine) .

{Ed001's Note - the problem is that Higuain is 28 now, which means you are buying a player that has had long term injuries right at what would be a peak age, if he had not had them. As he has had them, there is a very good chance that he is already on the decline.}

Agree. That is a Football manager signing, not a real life signing.

The premier league has become exponentially more physical over the past 5-7 years and aging players will always struggle unfortunately.

Example: Rooney with out his pace and power.

Just saw rumours about the clause in vardy's contract.
Could he be a target for us or doesn't his style match us?

The problem is that Vardy is 30 in January. You would have to pay the release fee, which I believe is £20m, plus wages of at least £5m a year for at least 4 years. So an overall minimum cost of £40m, with little chance of a substantial sell on fee, as he would be well into his 30's.

I have seen that Mussachio has been linked with a move to Arsenal. Do you have any news on this Eds? He is a great CB so I am hoping that this is true.

{Ed001's Note - I have already mentioned this earlier, he has been scouted by Arsenal for a couple of years now. This summer there is a big possibility he moves on, but nothing has actually happened yet.}

Hello eds, reports in italy claim we have made a bid for morata. Is this true or are we in talks or is it neither? Thank u in advance.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - for now everything is waiting on Real Madrid, to see what they do with their buyback. The likelihood is that they will step in and buy him and then sell him on for a profit. Arsenal are being made aware of developments.}

25 May 2016 11:28:45
Yeah word was that he was the one being looked at instead of Gabriel but he got a serious injury and we then took Gabriel.

Maybe we can send Gab back and get Musacchio in return!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - correct that they were watching him and that was how they saw Gabriel. I have no idea if it was that cut and dried over a move or not, he was certainly out injured at the time, so was unavailable to move.}

25 May 2016 11:47:20
Musacchio is a fantastic player but he's not particularly tall and his recent injury record isn't fantastic, but he would definitely suit our high defensive line and has the ability to play it out from the back.

Thanks for the reply ed. Do. arsenal know the price required to buy morata and have not been put off by the price?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - yes, not that I am aware of, hence why they are keeping tabs.}

25 May 2016 16:15:20
Thannks for the reply ed. I would prefer lukaku to be honest but his price is too expensive.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - really? Lukaku's touch is appalling, his attitude is even worse. I would rather have Giroud than Lukaku.}

25 May 2016 18:53:02
Only because lukaku scores loads of goals. I'm not sure morata will score too many. If he came would u see him as first choice ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Morata or Lukaku? If Wenger was spending what it took to buy either, he would be doing it with the intention of playing them.}

25 May 2016 20:28:40
Thats true, thanks ed. I do think that we need another winger though ed. Like a mahrez. What do you think ed, i know iwobi is good but he may need a break from playing too many games.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - then there is Campbell to fill in. If you could get Mahrez or similar quality, then it would just mean Iwobi would be marginalised.}

I'm surprised campbell is still happy at arsenal. Despite always playing well he doesn't usually start.
