Arsenal are hoping to sign Victor Wanyama (Celtic), Klaas Jan Huntelaar (Schalke 04) and Lewis Holtby (Schalke 04) in January

It's more like arsenal fan hoping to sign, not arsenal

Agree1 Disagree0

Who's that celtic guy, i don't want him. Hunterlaar, why you want him, we got Giroud ? Hotlby, not that strong attacking midfielder we want to step in for Diaby. So i disagree mate.

Agree0 Disagree1

^^ Huntelaar is a goal scoring machine. Giroud is a lazy ba$tard who will end up like Chamakh as he is not good enough for the prem. I agree that Wanyama and Holtby will not really strengthen us so I would rather we signed others.

Agree0 Disagree3

Did you really just say that Wanyama wouldn't strengthen the squad? Have you ever watched him play or are you just assuming he's bad because he plays for Celtic, Wanyama is a class midfielder and has been watched by Manchester United as well. As for Holtby he would need developing as he's only a young midfielded, at the age of 21/22 he not exactly going to be the best but then again The Ox is still only 18/19 and is a very classy winger. Huntelaar would get us goals and that is what we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

To say giroud is lazy is a joke! The guy works tirelessly through the game! Yes he isn't messi with the ball at his feet but he wins headers all day long. He knocks the ball down well, we just don't have a mild fielder that drives forward onto the ball as cesc did. Our midfield is basically 3 of the same player. I agree we need another striker as options are limited and hunterlaar would be great, scoring for fun.

Agree2 Disagree0

Hunterlar would be mustard, would also like to see afelly at the arsenal, gazidas needs to get lost,he only ever talks about sustainable business models, spread sheets, profit rubbish, bring back david dien,at least he allways got wenger his man, silent stan should stick to rounders in america,so lets see what happens in january now that gazidas shot his mouth off about funds being ready to use in jan,or will those funds be ready once he has sold another two top stars? p.s theo is not gready, give him the deal he deserves, and get rid of all the deadwood from our great club, every one knows who they are. thanks for your time. comments welcome. richie b,the arsenal.

Agree1 Disagree0

"Whos that Celtic guy don't want him" what an arse. If we only bought players you'd heard of we wouldn't have a team you soppy plastic

Agree0 Disagree0

For me, Giroud seems to be very slow and lacks the ability to create chances for himself. How many shots did he (our only striker) actually have against Villa. Even a multi time pick pocket from Saudi Arabia could count how many times his stumps.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wanyamas class did u not watch him in champions league v barca

seriously worried about game at everton midweek if we perform as yesterday there is only one outcome we have to start campaigning to remove kroenke gazidis and possibly wenger from our club we must stop sitting back complaining but doing nothing while we slide into mid table obscurity yesterday does at least demonstrate how vital the width walcott provides is to us felt so sorry for giroud no service whatsoever...brum gooner

Despite the latest sponsorship deals , things are not going to change. Mr Stubborn won't spend . He will continue with Ramsey. He will continue to make strange substitutions, and as much as we all revere Thierry, he is no substitute for a new striker at the club. The fans must wake up. We are sleepwalking into mediocrity. Now, this is even more mind-boggling :- According to Saturdays FT, Gazidis approached Usmanovs Megafon Company regarding the sponsorship ! Oh Yeh , don't invite him on the Board, but his money would be very welcome to fill the coffers ! Oh and finally, please not Downing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kroenke out. Uzbecky Billionaire and Dein in.
We wont compete with chelsea, manu or city if it doesnt happen.

Rob

Agree0 Disagree0

That was a worrying performance, one comment about Ramsey who actually looked fairly sharp not caught in possesion at all unlike the last game always had his head up.
What we lacked was effort nobody was moving.
For once Wenger is confident to bring in several players Jenkinson, Ramsey and Kos who are generally second choice, so Verm, Wilshere and Sagna are all fit for weds.
Wenger is learning and the sub of Giroud was because he was tired, shows a need for another cf either internal or external someone has to be good enough. Also bought well in the summer imo, he will buy again, and lets see if they follow through on extra money from just the first of the big sponsorship deals renegotiated (early may I add). I don't feel happy with the board but don't be deluded and think we could do better than Wenger he is the right man to turn this around.

Anyone else think that it was utterly ridiculous to take off Giroud yesterday? To me, it either implied we had no ambition to win the game and were happy with a point at a side who were in the relegation zone or it gave the impression to Giroud that Wenger has no faith in him. Either way it's pretty bad if you ask me.

Believable57 Unbelievable6

Absolutely. particularly when we had wilshere on the bench. if you are drawing 0-0 with Villa with 5 mins to go and need to bring a CF off, why not at least bring on another attacking player? i do rate coquelin but he is unlikely to create a goalscoring opportunity. and if wilshere was too fatigued to bring on, why didnt wenger bring someone like gnabry instead? so baffled.

Agree0 Disagree0

I really think Giroud could be a top player for us, but he's getting absolutely no service, there seems to be no link or drive between defence and attack, we're still passing it about too slowly and to death !
The ball needs to be put in the box a lot earlier, I like Jenkinson, but he's too slow to cross the ball, get it in early, and high for Giroud to get on the end of it. !

It was a very disjointed game, i think the conditions were horrible. either Giroud was poor or he got no service but in the end it was ... just poor

Ash

Agree0 Disagree0

Giroud is poor and so are Arsenal!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it shows that Arsene is happy with a point at Villa - totally unacceptable - better to try and win and risk losing one point - oh ans please Mr Wenger - get rid of Ramsey as he is just not good enough for Arsenal.

Agree1 Disagree0

Disagree with you, most of the team was showing signs of fatigue, i feel wenger just wanted to try something different,it was an awful day best forgotten, we need strength in depth as the squad is still light in certain areas, i feel we will play a lot better on wednesday.

Agree0 Disagree1

Podolski is subbed in every game and is wasted on the left flank. in the wake of not having a serious goal threat behind giroud he and lukas should be the ones rotated if we still play with this 4-3-3 formation.
also gives the likes of gervinho and arshavin (not great) to play more often than not

Agree0 Disagree0

If we have to rely on Gervinho and Arshavin we are in serious trouble - Gervinho is basically rubbish and Arshavin talented but lazy!

Liverpool fan in peace: heard that a London club, largely believed to be Arsenal, has made a £10 million for Stew Downing.

Plenty of speculation that we are trying to work the deal with Walcott involved in part exchange to us

Believable12 Unbelievable102

Can't see why we'd pay £10million and/or Walcott when the guy can barely get a game for L'pool.

Agree0 Disagree0

Worst deal ever??

What a joke! - you Liverpudlians do have a sense of humour.

Agree0 Disagree0

Downing may be rubbish, but he is better than Gervinho, Ramsey, Arshavin - I could go on......

Agree0 Disagree2

Saw this on BBC sport about 8am, still drinking.

D

Agree0 Disagree0

Funniest thing I've seen this year Downing better than gervinho , Ramsey, Arshavin lmfao downing can't even get in a rubbish liverpool team 0 goals and 0 assists last year buy far the poorest player ever he makes oliver twist look rich!

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger can't be stupid enough to sanction this deal (if it were real) can he..can he?

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably Queens Park. Sounds like a Redknapp signing

Agree0 Disagree0

I really hope not because he is in a work s..t

Agree0 Disagree0

This will never ever happen and if it did i think there will be riots in north London and my paitence will be lost

watford gooner

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm sorry but there is no way on Earth Arsenal are that London club. Maybe Crystal Palace but I dont think they are even that stupid
Oh and this is total BS because no person would pay £10milllion for him, he's utter sh1te, £10K maybe.

Hope we don't get zaha he's overrated he's just fast that's it

Believable26 Unbelievable19

He's not even the best player in the championship he's been hyped up by the media he's no better than Redmond if we interested in him i think it would be btr to call myiachi he was good at Bolton but not geting much chance at Wigan

Heard from gossip from oop north but also reported on and in 2 daily newspapers:

Wenger wants to sign Stewart Downing in a cut price £10 million deal.

Despite want some Liverpool fans think, they are desperate for cash. I understand the total deal might amount to £10 million but like pretty much every transfer nowadays, it won't be £10 million up front.

Heard also that Southampton want Squillaci on loan

Believable12 Unbelievable57

If Wenger paid £1 for Downing I would want him out of the club altogether.
Not a chance of this happening. Downing is sh1te. this is worse than all the Joey Barton rumours that went around last season

£10m would not be a cut down price for a sh1te player who cant play football. I'd rather some unproven youth player than him.
