There is no way AW will bring in the number of players some people on here are suggesting, at most 3 will be signed as per usual. No GK - Szczęsny is a prospect who will defo leave if a new num.1 is signed (remember he threatened to quit earlier this season already), in midfield talk of Parker is misguided- Frimpong is being groomed for that DM role.

As for Theo down the middle, it could work perhaps with Arshavin or dare I say Bendtner operating on the right? Btw how is it possible a man of Djourou's stature can be turned inside out and left arse over head by even the most mediocre of strikers? TV-Kos partnership FTW.

I expect Arsene to ship out almunia eboue denilson rosicky and bendtner and if we are lucky we might get 20 million. Then we can all pray that he buys at least a quality centre half, defensive midfielder and a striker and maybe a few youngsters surprise surprise.

Lets be realistic. Clichy is staying so no Baines, Szcezny is a good young keeper so no need to buy there, in my opinion Fabregas will stay for one more season so unfortunately can't see any new cm joining. But if he does leave I would hope that Parker would come in but would be Wenger be concerned about the development of younger players. This could still be a possibility if both Diaby and Denilson leave but I doubt it will materialise. Up front is where I can see someone joining and I believe it will be Militto due to the fact that he is experienced and has a slight winning mentality and can finish chances in and around the box. Now the real issue of concern is CB. Without TV we are shocking. I can see Wenger making a bid for Cahill to please fans but I believe it will be turned down and Wenger will give up and turn to someone like Mexes. Personally I cannot see Hazard joining. I think if Arshavin does go Ryo will take his place but I can see us trying to get Oxlade Chamberlain.
Regarding people leaving I think that he will get rid of Almunia, Eboue, Rosicky, Bendtner, Diaby and Denilson.

Wenger is under pressure, and will react. Expect early buys this season and then a good solid pre season. Wenger knows he has to secure his targets quickly as the prices will include a billionaire owner premium.

Wenger will buy a CB, MC and RM, scezney has the last few games to prove himself or wenger will follow up his interest in Riena.

This will all happen quickly, then wenger will start to sell and fringe players will sold and replaced by younger players who have been promoted.

Expect to see a bigger (taller) spine of the team, along with a more competitive as we currently have players we can't drop.

Szczesny

Sagna Djourou Mertesacker Vermaelen

Nasri Wilshere Taarabt

Walcott Van Persie Llorente

LOL. Mertesacker is rubbish. Taarabt is an a**hole and you've got no defensive mid.

Llorente though, he's one of the best strikers around at smallish clubs. He's like a better Andy Carroll. I remember reading that Spurs were quoted £30 million plus in the summer. Ed is he likely to be on the move in the summer? Because I know Wenger would never pay it but I actually can't think of a striker more suited to the prem.

Take Arsene to spend cash on a defender with premier league experience. Everyone's hoping for cahill and he was too expensive for Wenger then but now since wenger is ready to splash the cash, its the most possible target. If cesc leaves, Scotty parker will be the cover with ramsey being the long term replacement. Benzema is a longshot but he's the perfect target if wenger wants a game changer. Strong, skillful and his performance even in real, no matter how scarce is still one to look out for. And he's french.

"To every one saying "omg when cesc leaves", cesc hasn't been at arsenal for almost the whole season, his mind is somewhere else and he looks nothing like the player he was before barca wanted him back"

This is true to an extent. Cesc's head has not been here this season, no more so than against Barca, back-heel was totally out of character. Has anyone noticed that his head is ALWAYS down to floor when he is walking back from a missed chance or a free kick etc. I think he may need to go to freshen things up for him and for Arsenal. But against Spurs and Bolton he played really well and him and Nasri together look like the new Xavi Iniesta.

To every one saying "omg when cesc leaves", cesc hasn't been at arsenal for almost the whole season, his mind is somewhere else and he looks nothing like the player he was before barca wanted him back. jack is more than capable of stepping up and becoming 'the new cesc', but in my opinion he will be even better due to his drive and commitment to the team. in the summer AW needs get 2 world class CB, one to partner TV, who should also be named captain, and one to cover TV who is almost certain to miss at least a month or 2 every season due to injury. there is also no way that AW will bring in 6-7 big name signings and he won't be selling the half of the team to found his signings either, as long as we sort out our defensive problems any other signings will be bonuses.

Rosicky
Denilson
Arshavin
Chamakh
Vela
Eastmond
Bendtner
Traore

And all those 'promising kids' loan - keep one or two that would make it at United and just scra the rest of them

Koscielny to be given time - maybe at full back or DMF - I think he could be really good in a season or two

Djourou - not sure he can improve any more. Maybe when he is 31 he will have a great game and look like he has some natuarl quality

"And Wenger either needs to play Walcott through the middle with RVP playing off him mimicking the way Henry and Bergkamp used to play or tbh send Walcott on loan somewhere. I'm a big fan of the guy I think he could be a world beater, but something isn't quite right."

I completely agree with this about Walcott. I posted last week that Walcott is NOT a winger and is a natural striker and since then I have seen many posters putting Walcott up front in their formations. When AW signed Walcott and played him on the wing I always thought he was going to eventually play up front but I'm not so sure AW is planning on that anymore. Maybe that's why we havent bought another Striker. Walcott is not a guy to get the ball deep and run at defenders (apart from the Liverpool goal) but a player that plays on the last defender (much like Javier Hernandez). And he is a classy finisher as well. And RVP looks his best when hes a little deeper as well. New Henry Bergkamp sounds great! One problem. . TW playes upfront. who will play on the right??

I love the optimism but seriously Wenger will never sell 7-10 players and get buy 7-10 simply won't happen. Tops Wenger will get 2 poss 3 half decent signings total spend 20 million + any sales!

Promotions from the reserves for our best kids - JET, Frimpong, Lansbury, Ryo etc

Personally I would love to see Wenger go out and make a real statement of intent and splash the cash. He has stuck with players that have let him down far too often and need to be ruthless this summer.

Realistic (fingers crossed)
In:
Cahill - Think ever fan agrees
Vrsaljko - Heard good things and we need someone to challenge Sagna
Parker - Better than Song
Hazard - Amazing replace the Russian
Alex Chamberlain - Allow Theo to go up front with RVP

Outs:
Almunia - Back to waiting at Pizza Express
Squillaci - Back to farming in France
Denilson - Rubbish/ slow/ can only pass 3 feet sideways
Arshavin - Looks Fat and lazy + exposes Gael every time he plays LW
Rosicky - To many injuries
Bendtner - Not a right winger

50/ 50:
Eboue - Good utility player
Gael - Contract issues
Cesc - If he want to go

All this talk of our defence being awful is far off the mark. Its the midfield! The work rate of our midfields defending is non existant. Song is ment to be our DM who most of the time is more advanced than theo and nasri. Ive read today on this site that our attack has been world class. Have you seen any of our games this year. Recently our attacks have been so predictable. V.persie is never a lone striker!. . The club needs a massive change. Its started at board level. Wenger is the man for the job. He. needs to mix hus youth policy with some top names though. Anyone who watched united v liverpool recently. United were terrified by suarez. Without v.persie we have bendnter. Enough said. Wenger we need 4 players!
Reina. . . Cahill. . Parker. . Drogba??? i wudnt mind any striker anyones better than bendtner.

We can all hope i suppose.

Does anyone have any honest ideas on which players Arsene may sign,
(most likely to come to the arenal in the summer)

Hate to say it, but based on recent years i doubt anyone as any idea of players most likely to join us, as they will prob be unknown/ unwanted players from teams we don't know anything about. But if I had to say which players i think will join next season, the answer would unfortunately be, none of the decent players we have been linked with.
Until AW swallows his pride and admits things aren't working, things will continue to be mediocre.
And if as some people have stated, its the board refusing to spend, then imo AW needs to grow a pair and let the fans know this is the case.I would hate to see a great manager get pushed out the door by the supporters if he isn't the one refusing to change.

Neil again.
Here's what i would do:
Sell Almunia, Clichy, Squillaci, Rosicky, Diaby, Arshavin and Bendtner. Maybe give Denilson one more season, but both only as a fringe player to make up the numbers.
Bring in Cahill, Vertonghen, Hazard and Benzema. i know that's four big, expensive signings, but look at the players im talking of selling!
This way you'd have 2 quality players battling for every position, plus the fringe players who we know are good enough to be in the squad but will not start, like so:
Szczesny/ Fabianski, Sagna/ Eboue, Cahill/ Koscielny, Djourou/ Bartley, Gibbs/ Vermaelen(yes id move him to LB), Song/ Vertonghen, Fabregas/ Ramsey, Wilshere/ Denilson, Nasri/ Hazard, Walcott/ Miyaichi(w permit), vPersie/ Benzema, plus Mannone, Chamakh, Lansbury and Vela making up the numbers.
That squad more leaders with Cahill, Vermaelen and Vertonghen, plus Szczesny who is going to be world class.

Arsenal INs:

Upson - Free
Parker - £5 million (only if WH drop)
N'zogbia - £11 million
Rodallega - £6 million (Bendtner/ Vela may be used as a make way for N'zog 'n' Rod)

OUTs

Cesc - £40 million
Almunia - Free to a good home
Squillaci - £2 million (loss of £1.5 mill)
Denilson - £6 million (blackburn)
Rosicky - £3 million
Bendtner - £10 million
Vela - Loan or make way

Team to start 2011/ 12 (imo)

Szczesny
Sagna - Upson - TV (C) - Clichy
Parker - Song
Nasri - RVP - N'zogbia
Rodellega

Fabianski - Kos - Djourou - Ramsey - Walcott - Arshavin - Chamakh

For a more attaking style one of Parker or Song would be dropped for a wide player like Walcott or Arshavin. likewise RVP could find himself as a solo striker for some games such as CL away!

No insider info just what I dream will happen but Wenger has to freshen up his team, with this in mind names that I wish to join the Emirates are:
Subotic/ Hummels/ Cahill £20m CB Most needed
M'Vila/ Inler £9m Holding Mid Destroyer
Vertonghen £12 Utility to cover CB/ LB/ DM
Hazard £20m LW

Net Spend £61m

Squillachi £2m
Denilson £6m
Eboue £5m
Rosicky £4m
Bendtner £12m
Arshavin £12m

Still leaving us with £23m if you add our alleged £40m War chest, with these 4 players and youngsters to come back, ie Ryo, Bartley, Frimpong, Lansbury, I think we can easily cover the new wages and make an onslaught for trophies next year

Not a lot of changes are needed to make this Arsenal team successful, I think we need a dominating midfielder who will kick any lazy player up the backside if they aint pulling there weight, S.Parker would be a quality signing at the right price as hes 30, I also believe Clichy isn't reliable enough, hes always making costly mistakes. I think its time to replace him with Gibbs, an english left back who knows the true passion of english football. And it's obvious we need a reliable and experienced CB who will be there week in week out. I believe 3 top signings will do it. The balance of the team this season has been way off scale, going forward as always has been world class but defending has been as bad as I have ever seen it, we thought Senderos and Cygan where bad, I'd be happy with them now! !

Guys Nuri Sahin is a top player but the last thing we need even if Cesc does go. We have an absolute mass of central midfielders. Nasri will always crave that role, Wilshere will always want that role, and we don't want to reduce Ramsey to a permanent place on the bench. The only central midfielders I'd buy would be Parker or M'Vila. Both better than Song, Parker because he's an inspirational leader that would kick all the lazy players up the ass as well as transforming Wilshere and Ramsey into world beaters. M'Vila the sort of powerhouse that you build a team around. He's 20 and already one of the best defensive mids around. Signing either one would improve the spine of the team ten fold over night in my opinion.

So one of them. One of Cahill/ Sakho/ Subotic. Lets face it they can't all go to City and players would rather come to us than Spurs and Liverpool purely because we will have Champions League footy next season.

Eden Hazard. We were the best when we had our creative players on the wings with the beefcakes in the centre. You do have to wonder why Wenger changed his winning formula. Anyway this kid might take a few months to acclimatise to the Prem but he'll be a world beater for sure.

And Wenger either needs to play Walcott through the middle with RVP playing off him mimicking the way Henry and Bergkamp used to play or tbh send Walcott on loan somewhere. I'm a big fan of the guy I think he could be a world beater, but something isn't quite right. Another striker wouldn't go amiss but I don't really want Gameiro. I'd have loved Benzema but now he's on fire at Real. I have a feeling a striker would be more likely in Jan 2012.

Btw guys we won't get that Vrsaljiko, we've signed Carl Jenkinson. It seems futile to me to buy another right back.

Anyway I'm just praying that Wenger really takes a look at the formation we're using, and buys the sort of players that I (and most of you on here) are talking about! It can't be that he doesn't know this after all it's clear for all to see!
