{Ed002's Note - Aside from Mustafi probably leaving nothing has changed beyond what has already been said. Arsenal were unwuilling to pay the asking price for Lemar so that is probably off the table. Jean-Michael Seri was another player that Arsenal had the opportunity to move ahead with but they dropped the ball. Most others have been discused - Sanchez could still move and then Arsenal would look to a replacement.}

Have any idea as to why mustafi is leaving?

Hey ed, sorry if you've somewhat all ready answered this in an earlier post but it's clear to see Arsenal have Defensive issues seeing as we're yet to; including pre season start a defensive line with players in their actual positions. If the papers are true and we're open to selling Mustafi (a starter) , surely we're looking to buy a pricey, better CB as I'd have thought we'd keep Mustafi regardless of transfers. I can only think we want the money.

With mertesacker retiring next season we need 2 defenders.

If Mustafi leaves, along with Gibbs, Debuchy and probably Ox then we'll need 2 new defenders as it'll mean we're a bit short of numbers at the back. Hopefully we can tie up a deal for Manolas.

It seems kinda funny that the people on this site all expect Wenger to sign some more players. He is done signing and is only selling. Even if Mustafi goes to Inter Wenger won't be buying a replacement. Arsenal has absolutely no ambition to win major trophies. It's all about making Kroenke loads of money. None of Kroenke's teams have ever won a championship under his ownership and never will. Gazidis promised the Arsenal fans big changes this year and so far it's the same bullshit as last year and the year before that and so on. Wenger has no clue at what he is doing and don't give me the bullshit that Wenger is a great coach and this and that. He was only good because of David Dein and all of his work that Wenger took most of the credit. Haven't you all noticed that Arsenal has been in a rut since the departure of David Dein. Doesn't that tell you something. Don't get me wrong, I truly love Arsenal and it hurts me so much year after year seeing the same results and mistakes. It's time the fans did something about this rinse and repeat management. It's the arrogance that pisses me off the most.

Offer Sanchez a deal worth 400k per week.

It adds up and is good value as there is no transfer fee.

It perpetuates the issue and more players will run down contracts but we either start winning the league or continue to have players holding all the power

Surely we could give him a deal that doesn't upset the wage structure

Ox for 200k is a joke

I don't usually care about how much we pay our player but a near 200k for the ox is a joke, yes he's been good but not phenomenal imo especially that Wenger doesn't know exactly where to play him. So imo sell him and replace him with Mahrez or Lemar would be best.
And if we are ready to splash on wage for the ox, get rid of him and give it to Sanchez and make him sign a new deal ends of.

Sanchez doesn't want our money he wants to challenge for top honours and be at a club with ambition.
When are people going to accept this and realise Sanchez competiveness and ambitious nature isn't for sale.
We can offer him 1 million a week and he still wouldn't be happy with our 4th place ambitions.
Signing good players might have changed his mind but simply offering money isn't going to make hin want to be at Arsenal any longer than he has to be.

Sanchez doesn't need or want money, he wants medals, he's good enough to be playing for a team with real ambition and I'm sorry to say it but I can't begrudge him for wanting to go elsewhere as let's be honest Wengers lies about wanting to challenge for top honours are so see through its actually a joke now.
