I think the reason this hazard talk goes on every transfer window is because he is the guy a lot of fans want us to sign. I for one think this guy is a talent, one that has the (you can't teach that) factor. This signing would excite a lot of people on and off the pitch but I am extremely doubtful. maybe, just maybe

For the first time, we're getting some optimism out of you, that's a good sign.

Unfortunately all the rumors on twitter seem to be based off that fake Wright tweet, and all the rumors since then have no basis, other than speculation he's in London and taking a medical tomorrow.

Here's to hoping you're right. I'd be sick to my stomach if he didn't come after buying into this hype the last couple days...It would easily be the biggest signing I can remember in my lifetime...forget fee, just hype alone...

Id love to see it happen but my head says no. Think about it. Lille have just sold Moussa Sow to Fenerbahce why would they sell Hazard in the same window? There will be a bidding war over him anyway whether they sell him now or in the summer. So they can wait and let his value rise a bit. I think he will be off to either Chelsea or Real Madrid come the end of the season.

There are rumours that Wenger is prepared to make a late move for Vertoghen. That would be the greatest news ever. And the price tag is just 10-12 mil. Hope this is true.

I doubt it he didnt make the move when we were missing loads of defenders now there returning so why would he move for vertongen even if hes a quality player. another rumour guys

Because I think a back 4 of:

Sagna-Koscielny-Vermaelen-Gibbs

Is a good back 4, Koscielny is probably everyones hang up but he is a different player nowadays, we just need Gibbs or Santos fit. Djourou is underrated but if we could some how get Vertonghen in and Mertesacker out our back four would be quality - just get Vermaelen back in the middle!

Juventus have made it clear he has no future at the club and have hawked him around a little and Joksimovic has been trying to get Lazio, Liverpool and Spurs interested in the player. They are looking for a fee of around 14M euros and Lazio may be able to strike some sort of permanent deal which is far preferable to a loan for Juventus.}

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed he will move for Eden Hazard when Lille make him available for transfer.

"He's a player that I have followed for some time, but I do not want to unsettle Lille now," explained Wenger.

"When he is available for transfer, we will see if there is the possibility to sign him."

That is actually the polite/clever way of doing what 'arry does and talk about the the players you want in order to unsettle them

Why are we all of a sudden bringing Hazard rumours back? Did he say that he wants to join or have we cetainly placed a bid or something? What rekindled the Hazard rumours? Ed's feel free to answer.

There are a couple of 'in the know' types on Twitter who claim to have heard from their 'sources' that Arsenal are in contact with Lille to enquire about Hazard's availability. The suggestion being that if we are prepared to stump up the cash we may be able to sign the Belgian in this window.

The thing people need to bear in mind though is that there is an enourmous difference between enquiring about a player and actually signing them. Lille value Hazard very highly and if we do go on to make a bid there are a number of clubs we will be in competition with who wield far greater financial power than us.

They have no more financial power than us we just wont force the signing and wont change to the present market prices and wages structure not because cant but because wont.

I don't want to get into a back and forth about how much money Arsenal may or may not have available to spend but would like to clarify the point I made.

When I said other clubs "wield far greater financial power than us", I meant that they use their wealth to dominate the transfer market in a way that Arsenal do not. Teams like Man City, Chelsea, Real Madrid etc exert far more authority in the market than Arsenal do, that is indisputable.

I wasn't saying Arsenal don't have money, merely that they don't seem to use it to their advantage.

This rumor was created and made up by people who are after followers on twitter and are seeking attention.

as for hazard, its ridiculous for anyone to think we can compete with City, Madrid, PSG etc...

Is hazard the striker we need ? No, is hazard the center mid we need? No, so why on earth spend all if not most of our budget on him when we can use that for more important areas?

Think, look and listen, that isn't just for when you cross the road.

As above we don't need him. Gotze would be a much wiser investment if we are blowing large amounts of money.

I think the rumours started to pick up pace after he attended the united match. So people just assumed we were buying him.
