Hi ED's,
I did ask a while ago after hearing a rumour from a friend of a friend, but is there likely to be any movement with Turan now?
If we can't get Mahrez, would AFC consider Turan a viable second option or an option at all?

{Ed001's Note - he is likely to leave, but Arsenal had not shown interest up until now.}

hi Ed001 don't wanna sound like a lemon but when you say had not shown interest up until now.
Do you mean that stance has changed recently, sorry just wanted to clarify as I would for 1 would like turan to arsenal.

{Ed001's Note - no, I mean you haven't shown any interest up until now. I can't tell what might happen in the future but so far nothing.}

I believe Arsenal are only looking to sign a striker. We may consider a CB, now Mertesacker is out. I cannot see us signing any further midfield players, defensive or offensive, as we have plenty.

Completely agree with you RG
Just sitting down having a smoke after work and tbh it's not that I'm stoned but I have a strong feeling we will get lacazette, I think Lyon are playing hard ball it's there most prized assett and you would be stupid to let him go for 29.8 or 31 mill when higuaons just sold for 75 I believe and some obese numbers being quoted for pogba I reckon Wenger wants to sign out on a high, he will by a striker for sure, however will it be someone of the level we are craving, we'll just have to wait and see and come on boys crack the banter a bit more and perk up its summer and we're all sounding like we are chelsea and Tottenham fans ripping us on our own page but hey give Wenger a chance until the windows over atleast he might spring a ozil out the bag, because that caught us all by surprise.

Absolutely, Xhaka - I think now the Higuain deal has gone through, Pogba's deal will finally be tied up. Then Man U, will have to start selling to offset Pogba's fee. Although I am not a great fan of Blind, he might be a good utility player. Can he play at RB? A CB can be signed and there are a few options.
Up front is a difficult position, as Lacazette surely isn't worth an inflated £40m+, even in the current market. The problem is that there is a complete shortage of strikers and having to pay a huge fee, for a back up striker to Giroud, is simply absurd. Vardy would have made sense, as at £20m, he would have been decent value in today's market and he could have covered from the flanks as well. Jovetic might be a decent shout.

Really?
I didn't see much of Jese, but he was supposed to be quite the prospect before his injury.
Just flagging that we are getting near the "realistic target" banter.
Ed - thanks for the poll!
Also - Malaga, I am disappointed, I was expecting Balotelli rumour.

The guy or guyscwould be a punt, striker is not a punt area for me, it a do or die slot. not saying either are good or bad, just not reliable to come in and give us more.

Rumour:
Lyon hae sent a press release stating that they have rejected Arsenal's EUR 35mln bid for Lacazette.
"The reality is that the club Arsenal made an offer worth €35m, which Lyon did not follow up on for one reason: OL will keep Alexandre Lacazette who is irreplaceable and who is one of the main leaders in Bruno Genesio's squad. ".

well that's our last fallback option, i'm going to get my boots shined and head down to the arsenal because there is no way i am going to let giroud screw us over again.
Also that's wenger not going in with another bid for lacazette.

I am running out of players to wish for?!
And let's not forget we aren't the only ones in the market looking for a CF:
Juventus (Higuain)
Napoil
Athletico Madrid
Sevilla?
PSG
It's all looking very very grim.

Nice one Laker, let's all get ourselves down to Colney for a trial - got to be a decent striker somewhere on this page!

Now I could be wrong. But I'm sure I've seen one of the eds on here in the past. Maybe 001 or 002 saying Lyon can be difficult to deal with. That correct?

{Ed001's Note - correct.}

Lakerville, what a wand. "no way i am going to let giroud screw us over again. " What are you going to do? Print an A4 banner at home and take it to The Emirates?!

Do we think Arsene will go back in with a higher offer for Lacazette or turn his attentions elsewhere?

As above, ED's have always said Lyon hard to deal with, and that money for the deal was the stumbling block. So they are all proven right.
The only thing I can't decide, is if Lyon going public is basically 2 fingers to us telling us to 'go away' - or if it is their way of trying to get an improved offer.
Either way, not very diplomatic!
Ed's - do you know if Lacazette himself or his 'people' are easy to deal with?
Hopefully we have other irons in the fire.

{Ed001's Note - no idea sorry. I would have to check who Lacazette is with.}

Hello eds. Just wondering, do u think arsenal would improve their offer for lacazette?

{Ed001's Note - I doubt they will want to deal with Lyon to be honest.}

I really couldn't see us deling with them after that. Arsenal like everything quite. When do we ever disclose a fee? For better or worse Wenger will turn his arse-nal to them.

Ed 001, I know you said at the start of June that arsenal might look at Mustafi from Valentin, with the rumours this morning can you see it happening especially after Mert is out for 5 months? Is Murillo no longer of interest to Arsenal at this point?
Thanks in advance.

{Ed001's Note - you were rebuffed on Murillo a while back. Though a centre back was not seen as urgent then as it is now. I don't think you will return for him though.}

{Ed001's Note - Arsenal were considering signing a centre back anyway, so his injury is enough to spur that action.}

Hi Eds,
Any update on the Ricardo Rodriguez guy coming to AFC? That one has gone completly stale. Was there ever a chance? Or was it just another product of the media rumour mill?
