i know you are sure, i just don't know why? you didn't answer my question the other day about a manager being in conflict if he is guarding the finances!
I do not knock your belief i just don't know what you are basing it on.

Has anyone ever seen Ade run as much as he did for Real tonight? If he tried that hard for us he would still be there. Just shows what he can do when he is trying to make an impression.

I posted some transfer rumours on main site, don't know if they'll automatically be put on here. They are all from a genuine source within the club.

Anyway perhaps most importantly if Pat Rice leaves it is most likely that Steve Bould is the one Wenger wants to replace him.

Nothing would make me happier than to see wenger with another winning side, i just don't believe this is the side to do it.

This might not be the side, but Wenger is the man to get the right side. He will win us the prem, I'm 100% sure.

Not quite sure who the idiot is that keeps reffering to me as a wenger hater, but i can guess.
If you read carefully you would see this is not the case, my post this morning was as much a testament to wenger as it was a damnation.
If you asked me if i would want wenger to stay or go, the answer would revolve around whether he will change or not. The wenger of old i would be happy to keep, todays wenger, probably not.
Telling me to keep the faith? well i have for 40 years so that won't change, but it is faith in the club not of an individual.
Nothing would make me happier than to see wenger with another winning side, i just don't believe this is the side to do it.
Not HATING just STATING the obvious.

Would the likes of Falco or Benzema really out score Sturridge or Podolski who would both be cheaper and better options.

Although Wenger's transfer policy will not change dramatically (rumours of aguero, pato etc are therefore rubbish), the battering we recieved will knock at least some sense into him. .

So. .

GK: Szchezny is good & young (though I would like to see given)
LB: Clichy (Baines if he goes)
CB: Vermaelen, MERTESAKER (probably most likely), RB:sagna
LM: HAZARD (20mil)
CM:Wilshere, Nasri
RM: Walcott
ST: RVP, BENZEMA (22mil - French, so will want to play for Wenger and out of favour at Real)

Arsene is now making the right noises about possibly strengthening the areas we have suffered in thew most. i do hope he means defense and leadership i know he says it but does he mean it. i feel 3 players and were right up there. i know that's against alot of other peoples views but its the truth. Strong CB, Midfield leader, and Winger.

We could i believe also afford to lose Fab. i know he is truly world class but is it another Henry time where its not aiding the team or club him being there with all the uncertaintity about him. Besides i believe in Nasri, Wilshere, Ramsey, Landsbury we have the players to cover his departure. Plus i woyld be very proud to see two outstandingly techincal British players in out midfield. Would love to see Flamini back to to add bite and leadership. Think Song has been immense but isn't a leader sorry.

The coaching situation aswell worries me with Pat Rice heading to retirement i hope Wenger brings in someone strong willed and young but with good footballing pedigree to replace him. some to liven up the back team and some our current players repsect for his playing too as i think it would help.

Posted a few times aswelll i feel any transfers this summer are going to be hard to do with the club ownership still very open

PAUL {Ed007's Note - Tony Adams maybe to replace Pat Rice?? Or someone who won't stand for any BS IMO}

"Watched Lyon play Lorient the other day and wasn't impressed with Hazard the least bit."

Firstly get your facts right. . Eden Hazard plays for Lille
and secondly every player has a bad day the reason Lille are top of the french league is because of him. . If Wenger doesn't get him in the summer he might come to regret it big time {Ed007's Note - Hazard is quality and would be a great addition to any EPL team IMO}

Transfers that I would like to see happen.

Ins

Shay Given (For 1 or 2 seasons, then Szczęsny No.1)
Gary Cahill (Exactly what we need)
Scott Parker (Awesome. .and gives drive to the team)
Eden Hazard (Young and up and coming version of Arshavin)

Outs

Manuel Almunia (Crap)
Łukasz Fabiański (Crap)
S bastien Squillaci (Crap)
Ga l Clichy (Cannot defend or cross)
Den lson (Can't pass forward)
Abou Diaby (Not living up to expectation)
Cesc Fabregas (Wants to leave)
Tomas Rosicky (Past it and too injury prone)
Andrey Arshavin (Too many poor performances and Hazard to replace him)
Nicklas Bendtner (So much worse than he thinks)

So my preferred Arsenal Squad for 2011/ 12 season.

GK: Given, Szczęsny, Shea

RB: Sagna, Eboue
CB: Cahill, Vermaelen, Djourou, Koscielny, Miquel
LB: Gibbs, Traore

DM: Parker, Wilshere, Song, Frimpong
RM: Nasri, Emmanuel-Thomas
CAM: Van Persie, Ramsey
LM: Hazard, Miyaichi

ST: Walcott, Vela, Chamakh, (Van Persie)

So Starting 11 for 2011/ 12 season.

- - - - - - - - - - Given- - - - - - - - - -
Sagna- - -Cahill- - -Vermaelen- - -Gibbs
- - - - - - Parker- - -Wilshere- - - - - -
- - -Nasri- - -Van Persie- - -Hazard- - -
- - - - - - - - - -Walcott- - - - - - - - -

I would start Walcott up front because I think he is wasted on the right, he is put there to stay wide, beat people and maybe get a cross in. Van Persie might be good at a lot of things but heading is not one of them. Also Van Persie would be the perfect replacement I feel for Fabregas off the Striker. He drops off most of the time anyway, and here he can have shots from the edge of the box and play ball through to Walcott. Recently Man United have been doing this with Rooney and Hernandez, and I think Arsenal could do something similar with Van Persie and Walcott.

Cahill is an obvious addition to the team, and I feel with Given behind the back for we would do much better having an experienced goalkeeper there.

Quadruple next season. .doubt it.

Did anyone else see the game last night?
What a fantastic result and a great solid team from back to front.
Great experienced solid commanding goalkeeper, a mean tough defense that could soak up pressure in a cofident manner, a tireless midfield that did everything that was expected of them, broke up play, tracked back and quickly turned defence into attack. And up front the 2 man combination of power and pace, hieght and skill, all this and Man utd were comfortably beaten on their home ground!
What the f*** is he talking about you ask?
Man utd v Arsenal 2002 on espn last night.
What a world of difference between then and now, such a blend of power, commitment, passion, determination and skill.
Seaman in goal
campbell and keown rocks
cole and lauren defensivley aware and able to deliver crosses
viera and edu, even keane could not bully these, and a brazillian with talent unlike denilson
ljunberg and parlour you forget just how hard these two worked, ran all over the pitch and closed everything down, and freddie such a threat in the box.
Wiltord and kanu no where near our best frontline but as part of this team posed utd so many problems.
And wenger, a confident cool man embracing all the players that served him so well, not the sad ranting figure we see now.
So much has changed, i stood on the north bank for nearly 30 years, and as much as i admire the emirates, i wonder was it worth it when i see the team now?
Beating the best, winning titles, watchin some of the worlds greatest players, scoring a variety of goals, this to me is the beautiful game, not this tippy tappy crap missing chance after chance
the amazing thing is we are talking about the same manager!
I am tempted to cancel my sky sports and just watch espn as i get to see arsenal sides that were proud to wear the shirt and no week in week out dissapointment blamed on the pitch or the ref or bad luck or injuries, by the way we had all that back then as well, but still were capable of winning.

I could care less what other idiots think. Tough guys behind computers. People forget that Wenger would be the most sought after coach in YEARS if he chose to leave. I will not forget how handily we beat Chelsea at the emirates, or how THEIR defenders, the so-called veteran sure things, made multiple errors to gift us the match. It's only when we make errors that people finger point.

At least we can look ourselves in the mirror, unlike Madrid and others who use players like Robinho, Sneijder and Robben, until something that seems better comes along. We have integrity, something top-class clubs lose by the boat-loads on an annual basis.

The 'Wenger Hate Brigade' is not the right term, as no AFC fan hates him. It is a growing frustration regarding his policies and approach, as we all feel with a few additions and departures we would have a bright future. I would like nothing more than AW to be at the helm and preside over such a bright future, if only he would realise the error of his ways. Hopefully he has finally realised what most fans have known for several years now, and he will rectify the situation in the summer. I feel that it will not happen though.

With song healthy, we went on an unprecedented run, until he got hurt. then we really struggled, and right away people say we needed someone new.

djourou next to vidic has been the best CB in the EPL if you consider the entire season. poor guy gets hurt, and rushed back to help the team, and we jump on him because he's the easy scapegoat.

you lot are fickle, useless arsenal fans, and we don't need you. go cheer for city or some other high paying club.

and when was the last time wenger signed 5-6 squad players in a summer? you act as if we've been getting blown out every match. seriously, you guys are school children, and should devote your posts to those websites meant for little kids.

this season has been a disappointment. but to ignore the fact that our future looks bright brimming with talent, and the only real club with a balanced book when the fin fair play rules set in is just idiotic.

never been more ashamed of my fellow gooners. you know about football as much as wenger knows about baseball. let the experts do their job and be grateful that we're 16yrs running in the UCL with the transfer budget of blackburn.

"Diaby: Temprament has let him down somewhat (but so did Vieira's in the early days), shows neat touches and is no worse than Ramires or Anderson, with more mins under his belt I think he could be class."

HAHA. MORE MINS?! THE GUY HAS BEEN AT ARSENAL SINCE THE DAWN OF TIME AND HES STILL SLOW AND CANT ADAPT TO QUICK PASSING. .

RAMIRES SHOWS MORE POTENTIAL THAN DIABY, AT THAT AGE,

AND ANDERSON? ANDERSON IS MORE USELESS THAN A WART ON YOUR FACE.

y are people saying arsenal are going to sell djourou hes been the best defender by far even though he didn't play well against bolton you can't just sell him.

i don't think wenger will sign vertongen because hes left footed. we already have vermaelen

as for cesc going to barca for 35mil i can see it happening because arsenal allways sell there players cheap ie henry, viera. i think wenger would want 35mil plus a squad player maybe keita or affelay

With 4 signings:

1st Eleven

- - - - - - - - - - - -Szczeny- - - - - - - - - -
Sagna- - Sakho/ Cahill- - - TV- - - -G Clichy
- - - - - -Wilshere- - - - - -Parker- - - - - - -
A Young- - - - - - -RVP- - - - - - - - Nasri
- - - - - - - - - - - Walcott- - - - - - - - - - -

2nd Eleven

- - - - - - - - - - -Fabianski- - - - - - - - - -
Eboue- - Djourou- - - Koscielny- - - -Gibbs
- - - - - -Ramsey- - - - - -Song- - - - - - -
AOC- - - - - - - Arshavin- - - - - - Miyachi
- - - - - - - - - - Chamakh- - - - - - - - - - -

In both formations the front 4 are interchangeable with their abilities to play across the front line. Especially the 1st 11 with Young, Nasri, RVP, Walcott they can all switch throughout the game.

One killer striker like Aguero or Llorente would strengthen the 2nd eleven but I don't think AW will buy these 4 plus a striker.

To make this happen:
Ins:
Sakho / Cahill
Parker
A Young
AOC

Realistic and would seriously strengthen the team.
What you think?

Realistically, 2-3 signings max. No idea who, probably no1 that's been mentioned on this site so far. I do think there will be a few sales:

I hope:
Cesc £35m (brilliant, but his heart isn't at Arsenal)
Bendtner £5m (Worst forward I think Arsenal have ever had. Bring back Wreh and Kiwomya)
Denilson £1m(Ok for West Brom, s**te really tho)
Diaby £ a Twix (What's the point)
Rosisky £Free(Once ok, now pretty dreadful)
Arshavin £5m(Arsenes worst signing purely due to timing. I feel he's peaked.)
Almunia £500k

Realistically:
Rosisky £Free
Almunia £Free/ 500k
Denilson £1m to a Prem team
Arshavin £5m to Zenit St Petes

All in all, who knows.

I have read so many posts now, about who Arsenal should sell. And it astounds me that no one has put Fabregas on their lists.
He has put in so many bad peformances, so i say, let Barcelona take him if they want. Then we can place Nasri on a central position, and acquire a good wing.

So my selling list would be:

Fabregas, Denilson,
Clichy (seriously one of the worst defensive left backs)
Bendtner (bad attitude, poor peformance)
Chamakh
Arshavin (He is just getting worse and worse)

Buying list:

Eden Hazard (I have seen some matches with him, and i am really impressed by his pace and skills, but probably not a very realistic purchase)
Gary Cahill (A real defender, who actually has defensive qualities, when Vermaelen is not playing, we pratically have no defense)
A striker would also be nice

Radical changes are needed but the two most important ones are off the pitch: David Dein back on Board and one of Steve Bould or Tony Adams to be Arsene's No2 if it is true that Pat Rice is retiring.

The squad does need massive overhaul irrespective of whether or not this does actually happen: I'd also like to see the core of the team reverting to English players - not because of some jongoistic belief that "British is Best" but to create some unity and beacuase lets face it, six years without a trophy with a United Nations squad of Babes hasn't worked, shame that is.

So, "In's".
Shay Given (£5m) (unoriginal but what's right is still right), Carl Jenkinson (£5m), Phil Jones (£15m), Sakho from PSG (£15m), Scott Parker (£8m), Daniel Sturridge (£25m), Falcao (£25m), Conor Wickham (£12m). Outlay £110,000,000
"Outs" - most seem universally obvious:
Fabianski (£3m), Almunia (£2m), Mannone (£1m), Clichy (£15m), Djourou (£6m), Squillaci (Free), Denilson (£6m) Arsharvin (£5m), Diaby (£5m), Eboue (£5m), Rosicky (Free), sadly Fabregas (£40m), Bendtner (£8m), Vela (£4m). Income £100,000,000

Promote from the reserves/ youth team
James Shea (GK), Kyle Bartley (RB/ CH), Ignasi Miguel (CB), Tom Cruise (LB), Emanuel Frimpong (DM), Henri Lansbury (MF), Jay Emmanuel-Thomas (MF), Miyaichi (MF/ CF), Eastmond
14 out, 8 new signings, 9 squad promotions

We then have a great squad of
GK: Sczezny, Given, Shea
RB: Sagna, Bartley, Jenkinson
CB: Vermaelen (C), Sakho, Koscielny, Jones, Miquel
LB: Gibbs, Cruise
DM: Song, Frimpong, (Jones), Eastmond
MF: Wilshere, Ramsay, Parker, Nasri, Lansbury, Miyaichi
CF: Van Persie, Sturridge, Walcott, Wickham, Chamakh, Falcao.

I realise there is a 25 squad limit and I've named 28 here but isn't there some rule about age and training that actually allows more than 25?

There are one or two others from the reserves who could arguably be promoted but I can't say I have enough knowledge whatsoever of the merits of (for examples) Wellington or Traore, Coquellin or Freeman.

I do accept we are a bit light at left back. .We don't need Hazard for width, Oxlade-Chamberlain for the promise of youth (again) or Cahill in defence as I believe Sakho is class alongside TV or Phil Jones (who I think is extremely good already and haven't Blackburn missed him?). Theo down the middle up front is a must, although with the six strikers I've named it'd be hard for any of them to claim a place "by right". Sturrdige is the pick for me.
I realise Chelsea may be reluctant to sell Sturrdige but he has demonstrated he is class and £25m might just do it. Chamakh does add a dimension to our team, but I accept that Arsene seems to have lost faith in him. Wickham, with the right coaching could be a new Rooney (when Rooney is good, he is brilliant, even if he is an odious individual, whether or not Arsenal fans like to admit it) and Falcao is consistently good, albeit in a league which is at best in the "second tier" of the hierarchy in Europe (but so was Ronaldo). RVP is of course class but still injury prone. Arsene stumping up £8m for a 30 year old (Scott Parker) does stretch the imagination and it may seem toppy but we simply have to spend and like it or not, Scott would add some bite alongside Wilshere and Nasri, with any one of Song, Frimpong or Ramsay completing the line-up in midfield. In some permutations we could have a (nearly) all English team out (Shea, Jenkinson, Vermaelen, Jones, Gibbs, Wilshere, Frimpong, Ramsay, Nasri, Sturridge, Wickham!) but that is not the key driver of the assembly of this squad.

It may only be a hope for the above but look at it and tell me it doesn't have a better spine, greater unity and more depth about it? I don't want to see Fabregas go of course, but if he wants to, he should, same as you or I would if we wanted to change employers.

All this for ten million squid!
Onwards and Upwards.
