someone send this to wenger! iceland's finest and most promising football player!

Believable3 Unbelievable9

At most Wenger will spend 5 million he not worth much more.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmm let me see, Icelandic football and the premier league....think there is a tad of difference in that, and lets be honest who can name more than 2 famous players from Iceland. Thats our problem, we go for prospects not actual proven talent and to win the league we need proven talent. Get in Henry and Gourcouff now and Goetze in the summer with a proven goalscorer and we could actually win something for a change rather than be the feeder for man City

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm pretty sure Wenger is already aware of Gylfi's prowess, but apart from his admittedly excellent dead ball delivery, I'm not sure he provides something we don't have aready.

Agree0 Disagree0

We'll he went to reading as a backup player and broke into the squad.. then to hoffenheim and did the same thing! he's a great goalscorer and a team player with the future ahead of him... but i agree with the last one that we have simillar things as what he has to offer.. but he free-kicks like beckham used to and has his best years ahead of him. he just went to swansea on a loan deal.. i think you're gonna see a lot from this guy in the coming years lads

Agree0 Disagree0

He's btw a "must buy" in Football Manager 11 and 12 ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

2 Famous from Iceland: Eidur Gudjohnsen & Albert Guðmundsson "the white pearl" who played for ACMilan and others (google him). Which is pretty good for a country of 350.000 people. The whole population of iceland since the begining is no more than 800.000 and something

i hear that rafael sobis will be in contract talks with us this january and also fuchs from schalke.. although i have heard otherwise. but just wanting to hear the points from other gooners.. i believe fuchs has enough experience and quality and also rafael sobis would be a good signing to help support rvp and bang in some goals.. what do you think?

Believable4 Unbelievable12

I don't really know anything about Fuchs. Rafael Sobis on the other hand I know far to much about. He had great potential but was/is one of the most inconsistent professional players in the world so I would be too excited if it were true.

James

Agree0 Disagree0

*would NOT be too excited*

i have been on and read a few of other rumours in other club sites and one that intersets me is that on the rangers rumour website, some of them are sayin they we are looking at jelavic for rangers, i mean theres no doubt he can score good goals but is he EPL material? is he really gooner material, maybe he could become the second striker as can be quite skillfull and hold the ball and has got technique when i have seen him on tv?.. i mean it is only a rumour so what do we think?

Believable4 Unbelievable12

Is he a premier league material? no
is he a gooner material? yes cause arsenal is just a laughing stock, i was a gooner whole my life, and after today's draw against wolves i hope arsenal never win anything, lose all of their good players and get relegated from the PL and never return!

Agree0 Disagree1

Stick by your team you gooner wanna be !

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol. gooner? no way you could ever consider yourself being a gooner with such a pathetic attitude

Agree0 Disagree0

(to 1st reply) really? this is the game that was your final straw? 8-2 against Man Utd, 4-3 against Blackburn is fine....but a minor slip up during a very strong run is the end? no chance it's an arsenal fan - we have a spook trying to stir up panic!

i do feel the frustration after results like this, but we are only one proper goalscorer away from killing these games off. We would prob have got points off City with someone other than RVP to force goals.

Park may be the man, but Chamakh certainly isnt. I reckon we need to give Park a chance (maybe start him next game and rest RVP), loan Chamakh out to rebuild confidence, and then look to buy someone in late Jan if we are still dropping points by not taking opportunities. but i dont think this should be Jelavic really.

the positives are that our defence looks a lot better. Mertesacker had a slightly dodgy one today, but we are pretty tight and havent conceded more than 1 in a Prem game for 2 months, as well as 3 clean sheets in our last 8.

Excuse me all you true gooners! but enough is enough i lost too much nerve watching arsenal, everytime "we" had the oportunity to do something we screwed it up! come on 10 man wolves? if we cant handle that than the title is out of the question! arsene wenger is the only thing left i appreciate about arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

We cant handle that?? we completly destroyed them, they only had 1 shot on target and even that was a massive fluke. we were banging on their door n it jus woudnt come down. things like this happen to everyone... look at man city v west brom or chelsea v fulham... look at our squad wev only got 5/6 world class players with a weak bench yet still are more than capable of challenging for 4/3rd. we only need 3 1st team signings and our fullbacks back and we have a very strong squad. be patient and have faith... we still better then liverpool after all the money they spent, and both spuds and chelsea are very lucky with injuries atm, maybe that would change.

Agree0 Disagree0

I see that some Arsenal fans rate Chamakh at at-least £6million, and Jelavic is certainly better. Check out his heading ability and overall skill.

Agree0 Disagree1

Oh well no doubt you'll be wearing a man city shirt next week if your not allready

Agree0 Disagree0

Well i was the gooner that posted the rumour about jelavic and tbh i think he could do well here.. if not somewhere else in the Epl.. but i cant believe some people are abandoning our team.. theres also another thing.. the top two in the league are knocked out of the champions league.and we are there.. must say something about our mentality.. and yeah we are always gonna get draws but at least we didnt lose !

players who should go on loan

mannone ( goalkeeper )

frimpong ( defence mid )

chamach ( striker )

sellllllllllllllll

arshavin ( winger ) 15.5 mill

denilson ( mid ) 5 mill

bendtener ( striker ) 10 mill

squllachi ( defender) 5 mill

drouj ( defender ) 7mill

rosiky ( mid ) 12 mill

= 59.5mill + 20 mill -10mill = 69.5mill

buy

reus 15mill
goteze 30 mill
SAMBA 8 mill
m'villa 15

= 68mill

so that is good then if we want to we can loan our players for money wich we dont do but we can if we want 10 mill in more help us with wages

secret rider {Ed002's Note - M'Vila for £15M seems far fetched; Reus is heading elsewhere, as is Goetze, when they move. I guess there is a chance of Samba though.}

Believable1 Unbelievable40

Ed is goetze going to spain then? {Ed002's Note - Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona were previously knocked back by his club and Goetze himself has made it clear that he is happy to stay at Dortmund for this season, although no doubt a very significant offer would be listened to. Real Madrid may be able to persuade him to move. He has identified his favourite teams as Barcelona and Arsenal. There is also interest also from AC Milan - and I suspect that they are shifting their interest in Ganso or Fernando to Goetze due to persisting non-EU quota issues. Given that speculation seems to have come to a frenzied head, it will certainly do no harm to say that the long anticpated but previously unpublisized interest in Goetze is from Chelsea. The reason I did not previously say who the player the club were interested in was simply because the club was very keen that it were kept quiet, particularly given that there is no assurance at all that a transfer will be achievable, certainly in the January window. Dortmund also want to buy Marco Reus, a local player that was on their books as a kid, and are aware that Chelsea among others have an interest in him. Chelsea know that there will be pressure from elsewhere to buy the player - most notably AC Milan and the major Spanish sides - and are of the opinion that a move to England will probably not come about.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Were to you get your player vaules from mate?
arsh 15.5 - really - johan 7mill LOL but the best one is rosiky 12mill be lucky to get 2mill cos of age and sick note history

Agree1 Disagree0

You know what mate I actually think a Chamakh loan is a great idea.

He remains our player, yet there are several teams in need of some assistance up front, not least Bolton, and I think Chamakh is kind of similar to K Davies - strong in the air, draws defenders, holds up play etc.

Everton are struggling with Saha and Cahill hasn't scored since Sept 2010.

Wolves play wing play quite well but they're aiming at Doyle who is sh!te, he is championship through and through.

Chamakh loan = good call to me, because ideally I'd rather see him get his form back than be sold.

Raz

Agree1 Disagree0

Your valuation of our players is mental.
ike.

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry Ed, I don't agree with you at all. Yes Gotze prefers to play in Spain. But who is he going to play for? Barcelona? Affelay doesn't even get game, I rate him highly as well. If Neymar does move to Barcelona, I'm Pretty sure it signals the end of the Gotze rumours to Spain as his two favoured clubs are Arsenal and Barcelona. If Arsenal Put a bid higher than £30m which isn't impossible to believe as he has stated he could spend that amount on the right player(s) and he admires Gotze very much, I think Dortmund would sell and if Barca don't come in Gotze will choose Arsenal. Sorry Ed, but Neymar to Barcelona is more likely than Gotze to Barcelona. {Ed001's Note - you do realise that Afellay is out injured for the entire season and that is why he does not get a game, right? So I will take your reasoning as complete fantasy.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Where do you get those valuations ? I would say more like,
Arsh £ 8m - £ 9m
Denil £ 3m - £ 4m
Bent £ 5m - £ 6m
Squil £ 2m - £ 3m
Douj £ 4m - £ 5m
Rosik £ 2m - £ 3m

So thats £24m - £30m
IF YOU CAN FIND A BUYER !

I would also add Almunia and Chamak to that list, Almunia on a free and Chamak in the £5m bracket
We need to sell, and we need to sell at whatever we can get for these players, as we cannot buy until we get some earners off our wage bill, hense, sell at almost any price !
In my opinion we need a quality 2 or 3 players, a good left back, a midfielder who will drive us forward and a top class striker,If we sold all of the above players in January, I would much prefer we bought 3 top quality players spending up to £ 70m - £80m its all we are lacking now, but we seriously need to cut out some of the deadwood.
You cannot rely soley on RVP to get goals, we cannot relay on Jack coming back and knitting everything together, and at left back we cannot rely on the constantly crocked Gibbs and Santos well, I rest my case.
We dont seem to be getting bullied by bigger teams so much this year, now we just need the finishing touches !

Agree0 Disagree0

It not that we do not have the money it is the fact we refuse to spend, unlike liverpool and chelsea but if you look it up we earn a lot more than both of them and do not carry any major debt. so it is the fact that AW and the arsenal board are to stubborn to spend.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is not football manager mate. 7m for Djourou lolol lucky if anybody would take him for free. 12m for Rosisky he doesn't even get on the bench never mind start. Shut down the FM12 demo and go to bed, I think you need it.

Agree0 Disagree0

The most ridiculous thing about this is that these are not the sorts of player we really need.

Goetze is an unbelievable prospect but AOC and Miyaichi are also very promising and should be given a chance. The thing we are lacking in midfield is that Fabregas-esque streak of brilliance, Song and Ramsey provide this but it is absent when we are really struggling. There are very few players in the world who can have that sort of influence very often, one of them is Jack Wilshere. I disagree with 3 above tha we need a top class playmaker on top of him. We have been doing pretty well without him, just need that extra push when its not happening.

We do not need MVila because we have Song and Arteta, who has been surprisingly strong defensively, as well as the aforementioned Wilshere. We have Coquelin and Frimpong as cover who look very solid in the position even if they dont always do fantastically going forward.

We will not get another CB because Wenger does not want more than 4 real competitors for the CB positions. We have also done very well defensively, conceding less than 1 goal p/game on average in the last 2 months. So rule out Samba for Jan. The only defensive signing we may get is the loan LB.

What we need is so obvious - another goalscoring striker. We could spend less than half of this supposed 68m fund on a fantastic CF, assuming we sold Chamakh (if we loaned him out to rebuild confidence, I can see Henry coming in). Another proper goalscorer could have won us the points today or got us something against City.

While Reus has done very well this season, he does not have the proven track record. May sound silly but i think the best to go for may be Demba Ba. He knows how to score against PL defences so would need less time to adapt and could do a very good job. Of course Newcastle will want to hold on to him, but they got him for free so we could grab their attention with a 10-15m offer. It would of course turn his head too to be courted by such a big club. But if rumours are anything to go by, Podolski is of course the best hope.

edd any chance of pedro botelho coming bk from his loan spell in january. as we do need cover it would be typical wenger save sove more money eh {Ed002's Note - No chance, he is not able to play in England.}

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Has no work permit and he is not a left back. He can't defend but he is brilliant and a joy to watch...A typical Brazilian basically

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry ed. he is available in january, he gets joint citizenship from spain and will then be available, he's a wing back like alves not great at defending but would bring a lot to our side
