The problem is that all the top managers are in jobs at big clubs. We will have to take a punt on a young up and coming manager, such as Eddie Howe from Bournemouth. Wenger will be a very hard act to follow and I can't see him staying on next season, as we are due for more of the same and the fans will turn on him. He had the opportunity to go out and make 3 or 4 major signing and all we have to date is one, Xhaka. He can still redeem himself by buying a top CB and striker, but I doubt that he will buy the type of signings that will excite the fans. I know we can't pay £100m for a player, but £40m on Lacazette or similar and £30m on a top CB, would keep the fans happy. Wenger doesn't appear to get the fact that us fans love seeing new stars arrive, it isn't enough to unearth gems and bring youngsters through. For those of us old enough to remember when we signed Bergkamp and Platt one summer, it was so exciting going into the season.

I doubt this is Arsene's last year.
He makes the club a lot of money and a paid a lot of money.
It's good times for both sides.

If he does, however, I'd like Joaquím Low, Thomas Tuchel or Simeone.

I wouldn't be upset with Eddie Howe to be honest, after seeing all the links to us in the paper.

However, I'd imagine it'll be someone like Steve Bould moving up, Dragan Stojkovic or Rudi Garcia.

Simeonne if we have ambition. So it will be some one else, who fits the "arsenal" way. Which is kronkes way.

Eds is there any truth that valencia would accept a significant lower deal for arsenal to get mustafi? And if its true or not do u expect arsenal to sign him in your own personal opinion?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - why would they accept less from Arsenal??}

28 Jul 2016 14:41:15
someone who doesn't demand £8m in wages per season for mediocrity.

Has to be Tuchel. Plays the style of football we want and isn't afraid to put faith in youngsters (weigl, pulisic, passlack etc) .

I saw reports like that that's why. Do u see him coming to arsenal?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - reports are obviously crap. Valencia are now a shop window for Mendes, they are there to sell high. Impossible to say, it would need the lad to push for the move.}

Apex take it your referring to his €50mil release clause and the papers reporting that it wouldn't take that much to actually sign him?

My guess would be that Arsene would have a deeply personal connection to whoever he wants to replace him. Tuchel is unlikely given the project at Dortmund, but the Arsenal job would be an attractive option given the vast resources and top talent at the club already. Slightly tempered I suppose by the catastrophic ****up that was Moyes in replacing a club legend at MU, which would make people wary.

I would personally love Ancelotti, but he's unlikely to leave after only a season at Bayern if successful.

Wire anchelotti is in his retirement job at bayern, he will get an easy last 3 or 4 years there and then, I think fade out to retire.
