I keep hearing all about ffp, and to be honest it seems to me that fifa are cutting their own throats with it. Does anyone think that teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid ,Chelsea ,City,PSG or any other teams with money really care.
They will just pull out and form their own cups and leagues.
Unfortunately for everyone this brings other problems up.
You will have two { at least } federations running the sport.
Will players from one sport be allowed to play in the other ( ie via transfers )
What happens international tournaments , can a player play in a fifa tournament if he is registered in another federation.
You have all the issues regarding sponsorship, tv , rules etc. and what seems a simple suggestion by fifa will in fact be a minefield.
Really in my humble opinion this is FIFA responding to complaints from clubs about other clubs buying all the players, but in true fifa fashion the have not thought it out and it will never happen.
Thoughts please.

There will not be a break way competition. Basically the FFP will not come into fruition in the way Arsenal need it to. Fifa/Eufa or whoever came up with this scheme till not throw out the teams you mentioned or even fine them. The reality is these teams will use clever accounting techniques and sign ridiculous sponsorship deals (probably ficticious) to get around the rules. If they don't Fifa/Eufa will just scrap the idea and return to normal. {Ed002's Note - Rubbish.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think there is a grey area with these two arguments. Uefa do have to walk a tight rope because their greatest fear is a breakaway competition. Anzhi have been the first to hint towards a backlash at being exempt from the CL.

However any breakaway club would need the support of other clubs - one club can't make a league and how long would it take to organise a new football federation? Can a club afford to not play matches for said duration.

In short, it's a big old argument

In Arsene I Trust.

Agree0 Disagree0

In truth the clubs largely support FFP. Barca, Man Utd and even Chelski and Man C are seeing any potential for profit dissapating with the wage inflation.

Barring Chelsea (I do see that as a plaything of a very rich man) all the other clubs WANT to make money and with the problems in Spain Real Madrid can no longer rely on government loans. It ios only the clubs building now (i.e. PSG and Anzi) that have a problem with it.

There will be some dodging I'm sure but it cannot be ignored and if Chelsea and Man City broke away then they would suffer massively as the majority of clubs would not follow.

Man City has a "commercially confidential" deal with Etihad Airways which is owned by the Abu Dhabi Royal family who also own Man City.
Chelsea has a "commercially confidential" deal with Gazprom who bought Abramovich's stake in an oil company in the past.
Barca, Real, PSG and other such teams will find ways to get similar deals to help them balance their books and meet the FFP rules and we will remain unable to compete.

Agree0 Disagree0

Certainly the big clubs pulling out is not achievable, the past threats were and are if they happen again political posturing moreover the wealthies know that FFP is merely a vehicle to raise EUFA profile and income, thus they have a Tiger by the tail inasmuch as they will not be able to enforce meaningful penalties ie exclusion from the EUFA cups so what they can do is to fine the sinners and increase EUFA revenues Winners all

Never mind about FFP what about Sagna with a contract to 2014 not being included in the Arsenal 2013 calendar when Wenger today says I want to keep Sagna Source-Arsenal Tribal football. Similarly Wolcott not on calendar. Hidden agendas or Wenger's duplicity. Good bye to both no doubt. Sack cloth and ashes lads. Gooner in tears

Really saddens me to think that we've come to the point that people are asking for Wenger's head. 3 to 5 years ago that would have been unheard of. Unbelievable. I feel physically sick looking at the table. I just hope to God that we get some Klaas in in January (see what i did there, you love it really)

Lets face it, Arsene success is now his down fall.

Teams now know what we are doing on the scouting Market and offering the same players double.............. Chelsea have 3 players who was coming to us.

Van Pirse sell still hurts and we have NOT replaced him, though The Pold and Giroud look like they will be a success.

Arsene needs to come with some form of a trophy this year or we will lose the greatest Manger this club has ever had, IMHO

The Arsenal play a style of football, that only Brazil or Barcelona can match ! And like Brazil now, it will be hard to find someone to carry that style of play that is now known as the Arsenal way, remember the boring boring Arsenal days??

Sammy Nelson the greatest left back

The sad truth is that Arsenal no longer play the beautiful football we did a few years ago. We used to be the team most neutrals would want to watch, not any more. We now have limited footballers playing limited football, in fact we are fast becoming one of the most boring teams in league. We need to get back to the slick, fast paced game that we were the best at.

Arsene does like to bargain Huntelaar!
No,YOU LOVE IT!

I agree with a previous poster. I have never been so bored by watching Arsenal in 15 years. We try to play passing football but it is done at such a slow pace it gets us nowhere. Are creative wingers refuse to try to skin the the opposition and instead it is sideways and backwards passes. We create hardly any chances and shoot less than pretty much every team in the premiership. On top of this Wenger refuses to change his style, formation or even make changes when we can see it is not working. Wenger is way to stubborn and if he does not want to buy the players to play the OLD Arsenal way then we need to change tactics and go more direct. I honestly do not look forward to watching us anymore and that is the real shame. Last year we were not great but at least we were still semi creative, this year we are extremely dull.
For me, it is time for Wenger to go and I hate saying that!

2 WORDS - NO TROPHIES

Its not wenger, its the board no long serving manager speaks against their board, if they were to chant against the board it would put both under pressure and if it really was all wenger the board would give him stick that would actually stick(get it?) since it wouldn't be their fault, wish everyone used their head a little more

So we want zaha for 10mil hmm another over rated player hyped by the media. Would prefer tello much better and more technical.

Believable21 Unbelievable14

Bro are you getting arsene logic he is trying to build 2 teams a team for today and a team for tomorrow zaha is a raw talent and age 20 he is one for the future in the right hands . arsenal is thinking ahead just look gibbs , jenks , wilkshere , all been offered long term deals i really do believe in windows to come arsenal will splash the cash on gotze yes we do have eisfield and trust me he will be part of the future aswell

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate zaha is a decent player but we dont need another youngster who has pace with no brains sterling would be a better option hes 17 and good as zaha at the moment anyone who thinks chambo is better is fooling themselfs sterling is RAW talent

Agree0 Disagree1

Tello i agree and he's young as well . so he would fit into the team for tomorrow !!

Agree0 Disagree1

I would say we need zaha for the sheer ego...we need players who feel they deserve and can do better...surely he has to back it up with his play and the reason to sign him will be as he is an Arsenal fan.

let him try to emulate and be a club legend...and if he does it will be a coup...if not then only he has something to lose.

he has the talent and potential...its up to him to make it count.

imagine if one of us Arsenal fans had the chance to play for Arsenal would we not only give 110% but play till our knees fell off?

Hello edd any interest in bony looks like a good player {Ed002's Note - Wilfried Bony was of interest to Newcastle over the summer and has been a player Chelsea have been considering for a while. Right now there is varying degrees of interest from Aston Villa, QPR, Liverpool, Everton and a couple of German sides. It would not be a surprise to see interest from other teams, but that is all there is at this time. The player has said he would like to join Chelsea.}
