Hi Eds. Understanding the delay in announcing Gabriel and after what Ed002 has said fully confident he will be a Gooner soon. My question is about Aubamayang and the reason he hasn`t yet signed a new contract. Would have thought it can only be financial and terms as the transfer of funds, registering etc aren`t applicable. Is the hold up the fact money and terms have yet to be agreed? COYG Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea I am afraid.}

Hi Ed. When I am afraid I ask my missus for a cuddle. It helps soothe my nerves. Good luck!

What's your missus number Alex? I get afraid quite a bit and if she's really hot I could be open to be absolutely terrified on a regular basis mate :-)

I wonder if he is holding out to see what happens at Barcelona and Messi?

I'm always happy to share my fears with the right sort of company Shambles mate :-) .

Do you think Barcelona would be interested Sally? Auba is a brilliant goal scorer but I'm not sure his all round game would be Barcelonaesk!

Who knows gunner. I believe there were rumours Auba was holding out for an offer from them at one point. I was surprised when they appointed Kuman but what do I know haha.

Good point about Barcelona choice of new manager Sally! Auba is absolutely brilliant for us but other than the usual tabloid rumour mill there has never been any offers for Auba from Barcelona Real City Liverpool United Chelsea or PSG either before or since he joined Arsenal.
We love Auba but I'm not sure the best premier league or European clubs share our feelings about him for some reason.

That reminds me G62, I kept fearing everyone was out to get me, so I went and told my doctor and he said hold on a second, leant out the door and said he’s in here lads.

I know how you feel Epping mate I've experienced very similar feelings myself mate, the only difference for me was I thought just one person was out to get me but the whole world knew their identity but was refusing tell me who they were!

Highly doubt Barcelona are in for an ageing player when that is precisely the reason they got Koeman in. No, I think Auba doesn't have many options which is why he is staying. PSG or a rich Mickey mouse league are his only choices if he leaves, I reckon, and PSG can't guarantee starts over Mbappe and Neymar.

I haven't heard any rumours of anyone coming in for Auba. Do any Eds know if there has been any interest?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Aubameyangadingdong was always going to consider his options but there won't be much. PSG may offer him a way out as a Cavani replacement but they are well stocked and game time would be limited. Napoli retain an interest in Aubameyangadingdong as a preferred option to replace Milik - Barcelona could look to an offer but money and priorities are against it.}

Good Morning Ed002,

Regarding Bellerin, I know you mentioned that Sevilla have him as their first choice and that Arsenal would probably look to keep him for a year because of money, but reports this morning state that Juventus also have him as their first choice and have made an enquiry as to his availability.

Are you aware of any approach from Juve and do Arsenal have any RB targets in mind if they can't keep hold of him? We could use Soares but would still need squad depth.

Many thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Hector Bellerin (RB) Sevilla are looking for support and eventual replacement of the aging Jesus Navas and Bellerin is their first choice. Botines has been hawking him around Italy and he is on the lengthy list of RBs that Inter have an interest in and Juventus will provide an option but would want to include a player in any deal. Arsenal may want to hang on to him for a year because of the money situation if they cannot get a cash sale.

Arsenal have already signed a RB but would have to look to another if a back four is to be used and HB leaves.}

Be shame to lose Hector in my opinion.

Any chance of max Aarons as a replacement Ed? I’m probably just dreaming.

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal have shown no interest.}

28 Aug 2020 12:17:20
Thanks Ed! Juve offering a player might not be a bad deal if it covers an immediate need of ours.

It would be a shame to lose him Gunner but he's not exceptional to say the least. If the money or the players involved were right I wouldn't be against it.

It's all a matter of opinion when it comes to players Glen mate, I actually think Hector is one of the best players we have at the club but I do realise not everyone agrees with me on that :-)

Bellerin is great on his day but he’s always hurt.

Hector is a terrible defender and has no final ball.

28 Aug 2020 13:22:28
No that's fair enough mate. I think he's a little inconsistent tbh but I do like him for sure. Not just as a player but how he represents the club as well.

I definitely hear the injury argument Alex but unfortunately that applies to so many of our players who've been with us for quite some time, I'm not sure if it just my perception but players who've joined us over the last 3 or 4 seasons don't seem to be out as long or often as those who've been at Arsenal 5 years or more, obviously Tierney is an exception but he was injured when he joined us.
Like I say Mark and Glen not everyone agrees with me on Hector, I think I'm definitely in the minority on this one :-)

I agree with Malaga here. He was abject in playing out of the back. Has not gelled well with Pepe in the overload and has a terrible final ball/ crossing stat. Add this to the fact that his positioning is sketchy.
At this age - we have 2 options. Sell and reinvest in squad or hope that he fulfils his early potential.

I would sell if and only if we get a good fee - 25M-35M.

This transfer window thing is not good for my soul haha. I propose a one week window and watch the fur fly 😊.

Wouldn't it be brilliant Sally :-) or even 1 window evey two years would be nice too!
Imagine if the window closed in September 2020 and didn't reopen until August 2022! All the lame hit seeking journalists would be put out of business overnight and only genuine football writers would survive. Obviously it's not going to happen but it was a nice thought for the 5 seconds it existed in my mind 😎.
