Ed, Why Arsenal does not sign Alex Sanchez and other big name? {Ed002's Note - Transfers are simply not that simple.}

what did happen about alex witzel i thought his dream was to play for arsenal?
max

{Ed022's Note - Interest has cooled recently. A lot of players say playing for Arsenal is a dream. Most dreams don't come true if a big club flashes the cash...}

ed a month ago we where rumoured to be looking at gotze whats happened to that and benzema {Ed022's Note - Benzema will depend on the destination of Neymar, Tevez, Drogba etc...If they end up at Madrid then Benzema will look to move...}

Having spent about 3 seasons waiting for news of transfers and reading the speculation on these pages here is something as arsenal fans we need to remember. All the talk about fabregas going to Barca
is nonsense, Barca have had to refinance the debt on the club just to pay the wages so 40 million for sanchez 40 million for cesc....... garbage. made up by journos with nothing better to right. As i understand with regards to Nasri, i think the problem is his agent cant see him wanting out. Talk of Gervinho, Samba, Cahill, all Good but doubt any will happen, Djourou, Koscielny, Vermaelen, get rid of
Squillaci then find a world class CB to partner all 3.
As for Forwards, Midfield. on the left Eljero Elia,
Fast, good touch, plenty of experience. Dont think we need another striker, i know Chamakh lost form after christmas but first season in england, it happens to them all. Bendtner needs to be gone.
problem is where and how much.? My one fear is with all the talk of players like Hazard, Mata, etc, etc
if Wenger does not move quick enough then the likes of Dalglish, Boas, and Mancini and the mercenary cheque books will overtake us, inflate the market and once again it will be, Almost but not quite.

hi ED, what would you think of this
we sell cesc to real madrid for 25million+benzeman and if cesc wont go for it make him sit on the bench for 5 years. i have read they want him to go on strike, i wouldnt put it pass them if this was true why are we even entertaining them.
its simple 50 million or your staying for the 5 years get use to it

{Ed022's Note - I think you should have Gazidis's job...}

Hey ED

Just read this online

"1620: A potential biggie TC fans. Catalan daily newspaper Sport are reporting that Real Madrid have tabled a 50million Euro bid for Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas. "

I had a look online at the said newspaper and the stories in todays edition.

What do you think?? {Ed022's Note - As I have said before, and this is only my opinion, I think he will sign for Barca or nothing. If he joined Madrid it would ruin any real chance of ever joining Barca so I think its Barca or nothing!}

(banter plz ed)
this team is the best most likely team
sakho-ed022 has said he is a cert and hopefully he is
thiago would most probably be part of the fabregas deal
gervinho we all know is close
and cahill would also be there
if wenger takes his hand out of his pocket mata would be on our doorstep by tommorow
hazard im not 100% sure but if once again wenger puts his hand in his pocket we will get him even if it means loaning him back because once the madrids and barces and man u get intrested thats it

.......sagna.....TV...(cahill)...sakho
......................thiago
...hazard...wilshere.....nasri......mata
.............RVP...........gervinho

{Ed022's Note - I think you mistook my sarcasm. I said "Sakho was a cert as he's young and French." He's by no means a cert to join although I think he'd be a good signing, in addition to an English CB. Also Mata/Hazard would be a good addition.}

''Barca to offer Villa + £10-20 million (start at 10 will move up) for Cesc. AW will accept this as Villa is class and this prices Cesc where he sees him. ''

Absolute horse crap. Barca rejected a bid of 27 mil for Villa from Chelsea and told them to come back with 150million more. Theres no way Villa would come to us anyway. Cesc will stay for one more season along with Nasri.

Wenger willing to gamble that Nasri will sign a new deal at christmas.

Ive heard that PSG Sakho will be our new left back/centre back. Clichy will stay too.

Cahill will sign with Vela going on loan to Bolton.

Alvare, Gervinho are done deals.

Mata is not coming. Fact.

Benzema is still on the cards. It all depends on Neymar and where he ends up. Im aware Benzema stated yesterday he is happy but he will simply become surplus to requirments by the start of next week and will have a number of clubs to chose from including AFC.

Bayern Munich have bid 15 million for Nasri and this was rejected out of hand.

Summary: Cesc, Nasri, Clichy will all stay.
Ins: Sakho, Cahill, Alvarez, Gervinho and Benzema.

Hi Ed, I think Arsenal need to bring back David Dain (was so good in transfer market and PR)and make some changes on backroom staffs too. What do you think?

If we buy more R.wingers what about Walcot?

Arsenal are expected to move ahead with a deal for Bolton's England defender Gary Cahill, with unsettled Denmark striker Nicklas Bendtner a possible makeweight to help bridge the gap between the clubs' differing valuations.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal have made an 18M bid for Juan Mata.. any truth to this? {Ed022's Note - Theres interest but to my understanding no bid has actually been made. To make an enquiry, which I believe Wenger has done is completely different.}

Goal.com reporting PSG are ready to offer between 10 and 13 mill for clichy. Seems like a good price. What's your thoughts Ed? {Ed022's Note - Wouldn't trust Goal.com but if someone offered me £13m for Clichy with one year left on his contract I'd drive/ferry him to France myself...}

Ed022 I have three questions for you if you'll please...

1) Is the interest in Arturo Vidal legitimate?

2) What is the percentage chance of a signing being announced on July 1st?

3) How many signings do you think we need, what positions and who would you sign in those positions? {Ed022's Note - The Vidal interest is probably there but nothing concrete. Wenger has been watching him (amongst others) for a long time. Percentage chance of a signing being announced on July 1st. 75%. I fancy one signing being announced, if only to shut up some moaning fans! As for how many signings...Depends who leaves. I would like squillaci out with two in. A midfield enforcer and an attacking player. I think we need a winger is Cesc goes. Nasri will slot in where Fab leaves off but I think we need an attacking winger. So probably 5. How many will we actually get? We'l see...}

If arsenal sell fabregas and nasri why don't they join the race for wesley sneijder. He is definetly a world class player any thoughts people {Ed022's Note - I rate Sneijder highly. Probably had the best year of his life in 2010. Won the champs league and played well in the world cup. Id love to see him at Arsenal. However, with such a fee and wages he'd command and the rigid structure in place, I cant see it happening.}

hey Ed who would you like to see as captian in the event Cesc leaves? {Ed022's Note - Only one man for the job in my opinion. Thomas Vermaelen. Born leader. Great defender. As much as I love RVP, I am not a massive fan of strikers as captains}

Just heard:

Barca to offer Villa + £10-20 million (start at 10 will move up) for Cesc. AW will accept this as Villa is class and this prices Cesc where he sees him.

Man U to offer £20-25 million for Nasri, they will double his wage too AW will demand a deal with J.S Park in it though

2x CBs will come in, Cahill or Samba + 1 prob french kid. A LB if Clichy goes.

AW will then look at Jarvis and/or N'zogbia.

"Ed, Is Lille pushing Gervinho to us in the press to keep us off of Hazard, and is the reason there's no bit for Gervinho yet due to the fact Hazard is the actual target? {Ed002's Note - There will be no conspiracy.}"

---

As I stated previously. Gervinho bid is done; we and Lille have kept quiet to stop AS Saint- tienne holding Lille to ransom over Payet.

He's having a medical at Lille tomorrow; once it's finalised Lille/Arsenal will reveal Gervinho as a Gooner.

@Ed - Fabregas not in promotional video for new away kit. Gibbs features and so does Nasri.

Alot of the english media reporting that contact has been or soon will be made with Bolton over Cahill, and Samba basically wants to make the move. Now if those are our only two cb targets..is the plan to get one of them or both? I can see one of the two being signed in squilacci's place, but if both are signed would that spell the end for djourou aswell?

Is Cahill the main target and Samba 2nd choice (back up option)..and are there any clubs interested in squilacci or djourou by any chance?

Arsenal in talks with Sunderland for Craig Gordon, at advanced stage, expect deal to be done by friday.

Believable8 Unbelievable18

27 Jun 2011 23:59:45
why are Arsenal obliged to sell him? I accept that Cesc probably won't sign a new deal at the club so if they'd prefer to wait four years and snap him up on a free I can accept that (I'm not gonna complain at having four more years of Fabregas at the hub of things). We're not desperate for the cash and as I said, Fabregas is enough of a pro to respect us. I genuinely can't see the deal happening this summer unless they cough up the big bucks. Which we all know they won't.

Believable15 Unbelievable13

27 Jun 2011 23:56:58
On a positive, I think AW has seen the error of his ways and will change his transfer policy this summer

Ed022 man i hope you're right but personally i just cant see any other outcome than us buying potential or players that nobody else with dreams of reaching the top want ..like i said in a previous post..''cant see the top teams clambering over each other for samba''..can you imagine messi and co when we get drawn against them again..(and we will) they will quiver at the thought of having to beat him..(not) wether its AW or the board or whoever, someone has got to make a decision and buy high quality... dont want to hear the classic... ''my young team... im proud... we showed good spirit.. we fight until the end''..because that'll no doubt mean that we're out of the CL EPL FA or League cup ... so please someone over at the grove give AW a couple of blank cheques and let him buy someone with class...not just recruit players because they're either french, one for the future or cheap and by the way..if experience is a 'must have' quality, please make sure its not another squillaci or silvestre

Ed is it true arsenal are interested in tarrabit from QPR?

{Ed022's Note - Adel Taraabt went to the "Nicklas Bendtner School of Modesty. For him to come out and say "Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in me" doesn't hold much weight with me I am afraid. Plus he's ex Spurs which wouldn't go down too well...}

Ed, he never actually played for spurs....

{Ed022's Note - I stand corrected but he was a Spurs "player". Its not my fault not only is he as modest as Bendtner but they share the same football "ability"
