Sky reporting we have had bids for Lacazette and Lemar rejected. It feels like Groundhog Day again I hope the club really renegotiate these bids and get the deals done.

Top players are extremely difficult to sign, as their clubs rarely want to sell them, the selling clubs have to secure replacements, there is competition from other clubs to sign them, the players have high demands through savvy agents, etc.
The sole signing so far is Kolasinac who we signed on a free, which is slightly simpler, as it cuts out his club and he was able to start negotiating last January. Don't forget the window doesn't officially open until July 1st, so we may not hear until then if any signings have been made.

Now we all understand why the likes of united have paid over the odds for players in the past. Everyone's for sale and the price has gone up because replacements have gone up .

Players are also very difficult to sign when there is uncertainty at the club. And there is lots at ours: squad, manager, etc.

Do we want to sell Belerin or Sanchez? Will we? Yes if they like the club that wants then and that club pays what it takes to get then.
Few players are actually available for transfer but loads change clubs each summer simply because the buying club has the desire to make it happen.

What I was trying to imply is I hope the club isn't going to abandon deals over say around about 5 or 10 million More. Because we have done in the past and this market you have to overpay for a lot of players esp if your a premier league team.

Honestly a rejected bid isn't a disaster, it happens all the time. Even if the asking price is met, a seller isn't obliged to sell, and a player isn't obliged to sign (unless pushed out) . Transfers are such a complex mechanism that I can fully appreciate why the ed's are so blunt in their responses on occassion. Bleeding heart romantics belong in story books:) I think it's fairly obvious who Arsenal are linked to - I'm more interested in what kind of formation will we start with should they go through!

Has to get these over the line! £30m on Lemar and no indication of a price on the table fro Lacazette. They want £57m! Surely £87m is enough!

But if they are rejecting £30m for Lemar, we must be looking at £100m+ for both players!

Only worry is Sanchez. Lemar coming in must mean he's on the way out if we get him! Or he fails on Lacazette and plays Sanchex up front on his own.

Jean-Michel Aulas has stated this morning that Lacazette will probably stay and a deal with Athletico in January is still possible.

He's a media hungry geezer anyway but i don't see this happening. Maybe Derbygooner found a good source but i certainly cant.
