this is a very reliable source because i remember this guy saying that we would get podolski months back before even the press knew {Ed001's Note - wasn't everyone saying it months back? Even I was, and I have very little in the way of Arsenal links.}

Certainly it is between United and Arsenal to get him right now, it is very easy to put your eggs in one basket and take a chance when it is 50/50 and be seen as a good source.}

It'll take a sight more than Podolski & A.N Other to make RVP sign a new contract. A world class defensive midfielder and a left back who can actually defend for starters, plus competent cover in a number of positions where the current stand-ins would struggle to get a game in the Blue Square Conference. If a condition of RVP staying is that AFC show their "ambition" in the transfer market this summer, then that would require a spending spree unprecedented in AW's reign (or anyone else's for that matter). The form book suggests that just isn't going to happen, so I'm afraid RVP will be on his way.

Kagawa will be the buy of the season, globally, IMO, if we can get him. He is incredible and probably the reason Dortmund were champions on the attacking end.

Just a thought but seeing as bendtner is being touted by dortmund (supposedly) perhaps cash + bendtner is what could clinch us this deal. Sounds a wenger-esque move to me anyway.

I believe if we can sign shinji kagawa and llorente i would be the happiest arsenal fan ever!

Looks like its possible... Wenger has a massive legacy still in Japan.

We have Podolski, Mertesacker and Wenger who all speak German. Kagawa's only other language.

We then have Wenger who speaks fluent Japanese and Ryo, who is also involved in the national set up now so would no doubt know Kagawa in some way.

Manchester United would probably look more likely in terms of Trophies (didn't win anything this season however) but we look like an attractive place to go.

I could see this one happening, and would love it.

Kicker in Germany have reported today that Man Utd are close to finalising a 15m deal with add-ons for Shinji Kagawa.

I love Shinki Kagawa, much better than his brother Shinji, but not quite on the same level as their cousin Slinki ;)

kagawa has a 40% chance of joining us, hazard will join chelsea, hoilett will sign for spurs and im confident m'vila will sign for arsenal (new vieria) that will be the latest big signings

Ahhh, the new Vieira. How many times have we heard that one? (Abou Diaby, Alex Song anyone?) Let's (a) see whether the Manager/Board actually bother to open the tea caddy and make a worthwhile offer for the player, and (b) give him a season in the Prem before we start with comparisons with the great PV4.

Verm for me. And Ben, Song, really?? Half the time he doesnt even seem interested to be out on the pitch.

Vermaelen for me - already vice captain and has stated he enjoys the responsibility - if RVP goes - and who knows whats happening with that circus - i reckon Tommy V will be made captain immediately.

Vermaelen looks like he was born to be a captain and he's already vice captain. Why should Sagna be captain? He's the quietest guy on the pitch! Song? No way!

After last season we all could see Wilshere is set to be our captain and maybe one day captain of England too, but due to his injury Vermaelen's in the frame and tbh he deserves it. Even if RVP stays I'd like to see Vermaelen as Captain.

Therefore...Arteata - No. Wilshere - Not yet. Koscielny - No. Sagna - Worthy. Vermaelen - Most suitable. Isn't embarassing that we HAVEN'T got a nailed on captain?

We DO have a nailed on Captain, his name is RVP. I get what your saying about who is the back up and who should rightly take over but until he leaves there is no need to fret cus we have a captain and a good one at that!

Erm....Vermaelen is a nailed on captain in anyones book - Hes a class player, cares about winning, I'm pretty sure he's well respected by his teammates AND he's already been captain of Ajax. Finally it might persuade him to stay in case he's gonna be the next Henry, Vieira, Fabregas, Flamini, Nasri, Hleb, Van Persie and whoever else we've lost to greener grass!

Been speaking to a Forest player who played with Boateng this season. Apparently Boateng and RVP are good friends. Boateng says that RVP is 100% leaving because he thinks that arsenal lack ambition and he wants to win trophies. He doesn't know where he will go but he obviously has many options. The guy I was speaking to had no reason to lie to so I think he is a credible source.

After Giroud pretty much won France's friendly for them with two great assists, his pirce most likely just sky rocketed. If we have any chance of getting him, the deal needs to b done before Euros. Hopefully Wenger was watching

Gooners a quick update... I think I am now ready to cross the line and say, Mvila is finally sealed. Yes I know it was reported a while back but the issues that I was hearing were to be resolved has finally been put to bed.. If it doesnt go through, abuses are welcome because you bet it, I wont flee away. Will post again no matter if it turns out to be true or not... I still needed a little bit more convincing before giving a definitive response but I think I should stop sitting on the fence. So now wait for the announcement. And no, I am not erecting my info on the fact that mvila was missing from the squad yesterday.. It was in public knowledge that he would be given a rest.. It can be related with the finalizing of the move but nothing to my knowledge.
As for all those llorente rumors popping up- my reaction to it:

I know jeremy menez only moved to psg last summer but I believe he has all the qualtities to be a top player in the bpl. Hes quick, skillful, good dribbler and passer, decent scorer and versatile(can play along the midfield or further up the field). Do any of the ed's know if he would possibly be available? {Ed002's Note - I think it unlikely. As an aside, and exchange for Arsenal's Clichy looked a good bet before his move last year.}

Hi eds, there are a few rumours circulating on twitter about arsenal approaching Bilbao for llorente, have u heard anything? Personally I would rather muniain. Keep up the good work guys! {Ed002's Note - Fernando Llorente is interesting Spurs, PSG and Manchester City. Barcelona are considering their future options which may involve a move for the player.}

We got more chance of doing the treble next year then signing llorente mate. he's 25-30 million! we cant buy players from harrords when wengers shopping at c&a!
