Arsenal stumbling again over jovetic due to 25 mil price tag. if they want the best you need to pay the price.
here we go again, not the same old same old. hope its not wengers last season.

Believable60 Unbelievable20

Hopefully it's not the 25m that put us off but rather he is not worth 25m. So if we need to spank 25m on the rights player - we will

Not worth it imo

Agree0 Disagree2

I read a story this morning saying Arsenal not willing to go up more than 20million for him but If that's the case surely they can spend 22m on Higuain!

Agree2 Disagree0

Hes not worth 25. 20 should be the max, if it goes over than go after someone else.

Agree0 Disagree1

I think if they found the right player then £25M would be no problem, but right now jovetic hasn't done enough to merit that price tag

Agree0 Disagree1

The transfer window doesn't open until 1/7/13. All Fiorentina are trying to do is play Arsenal off against Juve to secure the highest fee possible.
Ignore all the ballyhoo at this time. Worry if it comes to 25/8/13 and no striker has put pen to paper.

The issue is, does it cost £25m to improve on what we have? If highain is available for £ £20m then the answer is no. My gut feeling is that highain will go for more than that, If he goes at all. The poster who said the window isn't even open yet, has a good point too! Come on the good guys! We hate Tottenham!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he is worth the 25 mill, i've seen him a couple of times during the season and he has got some serious skills with the ball.

Now during the season he has been involved in 31 games, scored 13 goals and made 5 assist, I agree that is not overly impressive if the intention is for him to play lone striker for Arsenal. But having seen him play I think he would be able to get passed 20 goals for a team like Arsenal, because he will have a very skilled passing based team behind him. So I would say "Pay the 25 mill!"

Agree2 Disagree0

If we had spent this supposed £70 million on players last year we would still have one of europes best as a centre forward. I can't see Arsenal spending more than £40 million on 3 players this summer.

Agree2 Disagree0

We have this debate every season. Its always the same outcome. We are linked with top class players, reports suggest we have agreements in place, reports suggest we don't want to pay the price. Player signs with another club for a few million above what we said we wouldn't go over.

A players worth is what ever teams are willing to pay. If we need Jovetic then we have to pay the going rate. We don't set that rate.

Agree2 Disagree0

Who even said we are intrested other than the press?who also said it was a done deal weeks ago! To be honest don't know why were getting all excited about this player. yes he's good but for half that money we can have villa who is one of the best strikers out there and please don't respond with crap about him being injury prone it was a broken leg which isn't a ongoing problem

Agree0 Disagree1

Its like going to an auction set a price and don't wonder to far from this.
£50m Torres
£35m Carroll
£20m Anderson
£20m Young
£15m Allen
£20 Downing
£17 Aquillani
£22 Lescott
£17m Hargreaves
£15m Bentley
£21m wright phillips
in hindsight what would you pay for this lot.

Agree2 Disagree0

He not worth 25 mil. I don't mind paying 25 for a player like santi but we only got him for 16. Rather pay 25 mil for someone who can give you your full 25 mil back at the end of a season in performances. Jovetic isn't that man.

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on Arsenal, finish this already!

Agree0 Disagree0

Transfer window is not open so done deals will be revealed on July 1st. Jovetic is not worth more than 20m now though.

Agree1 Disagree0

Mourinho now also [possibly] coming into the league will put pressure on transfer prices with some newspapers quoting JM as saying Jovetic is on his radar. Long way to go, and as usual Arsenal will go for someone that the press hasn't even mentioned.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jovetic now apparently looking for a new challenge away from the club and they will do what they can to help as long as the price is right.
As usual I'll be glad when all this transfer nonsense is wrapped up.

Agree0 Disagree0

What would mourinho do with jovetic?

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope it is wengers last season if he doesn't sign anyone one.

Russian midfielder Andrey Arshavin, 31, who is a free agent after his £90,000-a-week Arsenal contract expired at the end of the season, is a target for former club Zenit St Petersburg.

Believable77 Unbelievable18

He wasn't a target in January when it might have cost them a few bob and saved Arsenal 6 months wages

Agree1 Disagree0

He should stay! This guy is amazing cover, think back to Reading games!

Agree0 Disagree1

To be honest, I am a big fan of Arshavin's but sadly has fallen down the pecking order and to be honest I think it was his own doing.

He is rather lazy (think of Rosicky - came back from a prolonged time out of the team, and has fought back his position fantastically), provides little cover for our full backs, doesn't have that spark that he used to, and to be honest apart from 3-4 games in his arsenal career he hasn't had a significant impact to be honest.

However I still believe that he has been treated quite harshly in comparison to our other flops (somewhat of a hate figure for some) which as he is a 'confidence' player could have affected him quite badly.

Sad to see him go - ofcouse.

Right decision - Yes

The Mirror seems to be reporting that we are showing interest in Pogba, watched him play against Arsenal Reserves for Manchester United Reserves looked a decent player and young.

Any truth behind these rumours?

Believable26 Unbelievable68

He's done a lot more since moving away from united but I would be surprised if we sign him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good player, but comes with a lot of baggage.

Agree0 Disagree0

I want VIDAL!!

good news.
Arshavin will join Azerbaijani club
Khazar Lankaran and will earn
£400k a week becoming the highest
paid footballer in the world.

Believable16 Unbelievable93

Regardless of where he plays next he's off our books, his contract expired

Agree0 Disagree0

Ridiculous! no one would pay that amount

Agree0 Disagree0

Will expire at the end of next month

Agree0 Disagree0

Have you been smoking crack, no professional organisation would pay 40k a month let alone 400k for a player who could put a good run of starts for our reserves let alone our first team

Agree1 Disagree0

There is actually a lot of truth to this post and he is very close to the move.

Not too sure about that wage though!
