Falcao is set to sign a 5 year contract with Monaco, 14m euros per year. the fact he isn't a French national means this will be tax free. What a shame its money and not football that attracted him. Source Spanish newspaper Marca. its also full of Bale to Madrid stories for 70m euros. its good read. km

Believable53 Unbelievable9

Falcao had literally almost no say in where he went. He is under the rule of third party ownership and in order to maximise profits they shipped out to the highest bidder i. e. Monaco. Also, why do you think Hulk would go to what's seen as the most racist club in football with no hopes of winning CL? For exactly the same reason.

Agree0 Disagree0

What a place to live and work

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, I would love to live in Monaco, let alone by being a rich footballer.

Agree0 Disagree0

70 million euros would buy you a 2 bedroom flat in the second nicest part of Monaco.

Agree0 Disagree0

They will be a force the year after missing out on champs league agen though ain't good. he's top class they will sign more players yet

ac

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually I read an interesting article about 3rd party ownership which Hulk and Falcao fall under. This basically means that they do not have much say (nor did their original clubs i. e. Atletici etc. ) in where they went. Monaco was one of few clubs (psg, etc. )that would be able to match his transfer fee whilst also paying the investment group that owns the players a considerable sum. So it is not as simple as that.

ES

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually being Monaco it doesn't come under French taxation anyway so that is a complete poisson rouge!

Agree0 Disagree0

How is it a red fish?

"Fiorentina have revealed Stevan Jovetic 'wants a new experience' and that the club will do all they can to help him. Jovetic is currently valued at 30m and has been linked in recent months to Juventus, Manchester City, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain. " - tv

I guess this means that we are out of the race for him. Tbh I don't really rate him as a world beater.

Believable54 Unbelievable21

You missed arsenal, on tv it includes arsenal

Agree0 Disagree1

Outpriced as per usual.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he was a world beater, he'd be £50m, - £80m, our only chance is to buy players that AW thinks that he can turn into a world beater! ( and that we can afford to buy )

I havnt seen enough of him to have an opinion, but sooner or later, we really need to buy one of these players that show a lot of promise, we keep getting blown out of the water by bigger spenders and we're left to pick up AW's 4th or 5th choice!

Here's hoping!

ColbyGarry

Agree2 Disagree1

Arsenal being missed was probably intentional to stir things up a little more, they are mentioned after Juventus in the sub header of the article

Agree0 Disagree0

Fiorentina trying to engineer an auction again. Say nothing, do nothing until the window opens and reassess the situation then.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jovetic would be a great player for us (imo), as you say he is not a world beater, but Wenger can take him to the next level. We need to spend a bit more cash on players that have acheived things in the big european leagues (not just Ligue1).

Agree0 Disagree0

Very important summer. I say we stump up for money and go for it. he's not gona be our out and out striker but he's great in around the front players. matta we missed out on looks a bargain now. don't mate same mistake please arsenal

ac

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah bromley, you stick with your world beaters podolski and giroud

Young star worth looking at:

Gerard Deulofeu 19: Apparently we have tried to sign him before but Barca very keen to hold onto him. Would be a perfect youngster for Wenger to turn into a world class player. Could be backup for Podolski or Walcott on either side of the pitch.

Believable22 Unbelievable35

Can't see Barca letting him go - He already started making sub apprearances for the first team last season, so they have high hopes for him. Only way I see him leaving would be a loan, but Arsenal wouldn't be interested in that.

Back up to Walcott or podolski lol he's better already.

Great prospect no doubt

gonalons is arsene's main DM target this summer. a quality player in the making already in french squad. talks have been made between the two clubs already at very erly stage tho.

the striker wenger is looking at is jovetic he is trying to call fiorentina's bluff. the 25million they are quoting is a bit to much a good player but not top top player yet!

vermaelan will be staying and I also hear sagna is going to stay for at least one more season. williams is the centre half coming in. keeper is between cesar and the german goalie adler!

just heard that arsenal are preparing a 12million bid for skrtel, if this is real put belieavable but if its fake put unbelieveable. Thanks. personally I think he would b a great signing for us.

Believable22 Unbelievable88

I would happily take Skrtel although £12M might be a bit high. If TV stays that would give us excellent cover at Centre Back position

Agree0 Disagree1

From a Liverpool fan. He would be a great signing. We use to say him and Agger were the best partnership in the league but BR doesn't rate him. I think BR doesn't rate him because he is a proper defender. I think you lot should look at him instead of Williams!

Agree1 Disagree0

I don´t want Skrtel to Arsenal. Not at Arsenals level, and he was benched by carragher this season!

Agree1 Disagree1

Skrtel is a very good defender

Agree0 Disagree1

Dont want, ugly, nazi-looking, dumb. Good defender definitely, but please no

Agree1 Disagree0

Please god no

Agree1 Disagree0

Forgot to sign off;)

This would be a shocking signing, not good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good defender in my book. 12mil is a good price to pay/

Jack. You don't need to give us the Believable/Unbelievable instructions on all of your posts. Most of us have been here for a while, and I think everyone has a pretty good grasp of how the site works. That said. I don't really rate him, and I haven't read anything that convinces me it's a real possibility.

Some positive news finally, as newspapers reporting Vermaelen is staying at Arsenal and fighting for his place, reports quoting Vermaelen himself has said so.
I am happy :)

And the positive news is.

Agree0 Disagree1

I think we should do what chelsea have done with Luiz and play him dmc, Vermaelen likes getting forward, look at his goal against Newcastle last year, I think it would be good for Vermaelen and for Arsenal if he played there!

Island Gooner

Agree1 Disagree0

Would love to see TV5 as a DM, would suit his game very well.

Agree1 Disagree0

Competition is best for our Team. And best for all players involved in our squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's please not forget Vermaelen is a veryu good CB, remember all the good stuff the Verminator showed since joining us. Kozzer also messed up, nobody's perfect, but the Verminator really gives it all he's got and then some. Arsene didn't make him captain because he's rubbish. Everyboy now talks about Skrtel joining, wel he didn't have the best of seasons either did he

Arsenal are in for inter GK Haandovic. source corrirere delle sport

Believable17 Unbelievable39

Good keeper but didn't he only join last season? would Inter really want to sell?

dandan

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought he was on loan form Udinise?

Agree0 Disagree0

No he signed for Inter Milan in the summer of 2012

Agree0 Disagree0

Not the best keeper ever, but still quality, big fan of his.

I told a few arsenal supporting colleagues a few years back that we should have taken a serious look at him (around the time we were looking at Shay Given and Pepe Reina seriously I think. )

But sadly just moved to Inter and although I think they would sell if we came sniffing, I think we would cost the wrong side of 12m-15m and for a keeper that we would use to hone and polish Szczesny (see what I did there ;) ) then I think he would be too expensive in that role whereas a few other experienced keepers that are around would be much much cheaper

i. e. Cesar, Given, Howard, Friedal (dare I say) etc that I would think would all be available for less than 3m (alright maybe not Howard)
