Jamie Redknapp

'Mertasacker has really struggled to adapt to the premier league'

Shows what a brilliant pundit he is

He is a liability lol

I Always Thought He was Bought For The High Ball Games

Koscielny is starting to play well and he has taken a year to get used to the Premier League. I think Mertesacker will take a while but I believe in Wenger's judgement and I think he will come good. As for Redknapp Id learn more from football watching the advertising than him.

Redknapps a complete tool who was a **** footballer and is a **** pundit - a complete charlatan. Alan Shearer's just as bad - the only pundit i have any time for is Alan Hansen

Wenger sets the standard and Arsenal fans follow with rose tinted glass of bias. A fantastic result against Chelsea but seriously please dont get carried away on the euphoria. You have conceeded 21 goals which is more than Wigan, Wolves, Everton, Fulham, Sunderland, West Brom, QPR, Stoke and Norwich. Infact Arsneal have conceeded only 1 less than Swansea who look hopeless at the back. Mertesacker is far too slow for English football and smacks typical Arsneal class of recent times in the mould of Stepanovs, Cygan and Senderos.

Face it Robin Van Persie is WORLD class, and everything seems to emanate from him. The Chelsea game is over flattering and apart from the brilliance of RVP, Santos has one positive move the whole game and smashes in a shot that beats a keeper, and Theo Walcott was due a goal after trying the same drive 500 times without success this season. Lets face it Arsenal just had everything fall their way and had the woodwork not been so sturdy , the game could easliy have become another rout. Take nothing away the win helps to make the top 6 really interesting for a while, but I really cannot see the squad depth limitation holding up for Arsenal.

There is only one way to return to glory and that is spend big on 3 world class players in January. My issue is I doubt any world class players will sign until the future looks more assured.

I hope for Arsenals sake that RVP does not get an injury, but rest assured the heavier ground is coming after the indian summer, and soon the lack of depth will burst the bubble.

If Wenger was less arrogant he could have easily signed Scott Parker and Adebayor on loan, and just imagine the difference had the pair moved to the Emirates. The London Derbies are looking exciting but it is clear Spurs now have control of Arsenal, Chelsea are better ignoring the latest blip, Fulham have similar depth and quality and QPR are only 2 or 3 players short of challenging the Arsenal for 4th spot. Next season with drastic change you will start believing my fears, and start begining to experience the problems when football clubs set up for Champions League falter. Chelsea and Spurs will storm clear and Fulham is already run on a plan without Champions League. Arsenal balance sheets will soon hurt as the champions league normality become a distant dream. It is unlikely that they will ever win a fair play spot in the Uefa Cup and therefore do no underestimate the possiblity of no European football at all next season.

Perhaps Wenger will prove everyone wrong and turn the oil tanker in the storm, but I take Arsenal to become the victims of over prudence and shoe string management. Panic buying average players like Gervinho, Mertsaker and Oxlaide Chamberlain is not the solution to losing Fabregas and Nasri. Wenger and the board must change their direction and sights or risk the inevitable fall from grave that will follow.

Are you Redknapp in disguise? I mean that in both senses of the phrase. Oxlade Chamberlain is class. He will be a superb player and worth treble what he is currently. Mertesacker will come good, 76 caps for Germany mean he has the mental strength to overcome a tough start, Gervinho is a really good player, Pires and Henry took a year to adapt and he has already done well in his first few months. PLus Gervinho wasnt a panic buy he was signed in July at the start of the window as was Oxlade Chamberlain. Get your facts right before you come with the reins to the high horse, yes?

To the guy who mentioned 21 goals conceded this year
18 games played (all comp) 26 goals conceded
minus the two mad games 8-2 man u and 4-3 blackburn
thats 16 games 14 goals and average of 0.875 goals per game conceded
