Bad business in my eyes.
Strengthening yet another rival.

Let’s hope we make a late dash for Mahrez or someone of that ilc.

While Wenger is there, are they honestly rivals? We've fallen into the bracket behind them.

Ive been travelling since june so have only seen a few games and the odd match highlights all season, but i'm always keeping tabs on our fortunes, and i can't say i'm sad about it. i'm young enough that wenger is the only manager I've ever known, but this is the worst arsenal team I've ever seen. Why is cech still being used? Ospina is woeful but cech is finished.

Maybe the defending is so bad that's he's a frightened rabbit and could carry on somewhere else, but i'd rather sczesny (spelling?) in goal right now. The two cbs are flapping at all times with no cover, bellerin looks like he's going to end up in the ranks of walcott/ wilshere/ ramsey/ ox after being destined for greatness not long avo. Why did we sell our only DM? Not long ago le coq was the first name on the pitch and now we sell him and play no DM because we have noone to play in the middle worthy to lace cazorlas boots.

Ozil can't carry a team and i don't see why he'd stay unless we throw ridiculous wages at him. Why buy lacazette if we're not going to play it fast and in behind? Why would aubameyang join this team? Why is iwobi even an arsenal player? Monreal is a poor mans left back but credit to him he looks like he's genuinely trying to be an arsenal player.

Our midfield is full of limplesa side passers, our play is dull and neither the style of the arsenal nor wenger football that i once knew. The teams of diabys, denilsons, artetas for all their flaws brought me entertainment. The days of losing but at least making a cracking game of it and just over-attacking were at least always a joy to watch even in the defeat and failure. Watching these days is neither entertaining nor a joyous result, i'm bored. If santi is finished why haven't we brought anyone in?
For the first time i have to say that i want wenger to leave at the end of the season.

So so bored.

That you Raver?

Seriously, totally agree with everything you just posted.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed033's Note - Probably not the Raver as there is no mention of Stringfellows or Subaru.

31 Jan 2018 00:38:24
And no spelling mistakes Ed 😉.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed033's Note - I'm sure the raver is too busy powdering their nose to worry about spellings.

I get the sentiment but I don't agree with everything you have written there. Wenger is still a big draw for players, and Aubameyang probably wants to a) play in a different league, b) try living in London and c) earn more money.

Iwobi and Bellerin will both be fine - we forget how young they both are and they will experience dips in form, and also plateau from time to time. We have to be patient to allow them that.

I am intrigued to see Auba and Laca in the same team to see how we work that - it is pretty easy to mark Lacazette out of the game due to how he plays, so having 2 quick strikers will give an opposition defence more to think about.

I do agree that AW needs to either walk or be shown the door though. There are abject performance all too regularly now, and these are players that are capable of smashing in 3 or 4 goals if they feel like it. The boss doesn't get them to 'feel it' enough. Ahem.

Overall, we support the team - “Play for the name on the front of the shirt, and they’ll remember the name on the back” - a bit more of that and we will all be in love again.

Today was a reality check. For all the furore of mhkitariyan and aubameyang we came crashing back down to earth with a thud. This was meant to be the start of wengers new look team but we ended up with the same old stuff. Too many sideways passes no one apart from ozil was willing to go forward.

It looked rosy when our new "striker" monreal scored again to show lacazette how its done. But then the reality set in. Wenger has papered over the cracks with 2 big buys upfront but left the back door wide open for everyman and his dog to score. Yes they were two big buys but that gaping hole called our defence needs tightening.

Elneny tries but he is a squad player at best. We need a strong no nonsense centre mid who doesn't like to attack but just sit infront of the defence and two centre halves that are not a mistake waiting to happen. Mustafi and koscienly should be renamed jekyll and hyde. Bellerin can't cross a ball and has no end product and don't get me started on cech. can't save a penalty and makes too many mistakes he has had his best days at chelsea.

Iwobi was a passenger all game why he wasnt substituted at half time only wenger knows best. Lacazette is not at the races either drop him or get the ball to him faster rather than side passes to each other. there's one thing keeping possesion but another doing something with it.

Swansea were well organised and up for it and we played into their hands by side passing giving them time to regroup. giroud more or less played his last game and i hope aubameyang was busy doing his medical. get him to sign on the dotted line before he gets to see the game on tv. Wenger you have one day to sort out top quality defenders or leave at the end of the season.

It doesn't matter how many defenders come in with this manager. Its not just that simple any more. Its broken and that isn't the fix. A new manager is.

Surely Giroud can't be joining Chelsea, he's on bench for tonight's game.

30 Jan 2018 21:28:03
Lol what if he gets injured now that his on the pitch and arsenal continue to lose.

I wonder the fans reaction if Chelsea pull out the Giroud deal and keep Batshuayi and Dortmund don't sell Auba.

Lol how would feel.

I've just seen auba come from the private jet to the training ground in a van with seats, bet auba was well impressed with that, not exactly a chrome plated Porsche. But then i saw spuds new signing, they made him come on his own on the train carrying his own suitcase, i hope they paid his luggage. He was also holding a second class ticket.

Would of been typically British if it was a Transit aye Steve 😂 credit to the spuds though they’ve got a great player there, he’s only 25 but it seems like he’s been around for ages!

We have got to somehow get the Auba deal over the line first. I don't see it happening tbh despite the agreed fee. Too much needs to happen elsewhere.

Am i right in thinking that his release clause is £30.8m? I think that's decent for him if its true!

Ed's,

Can you give us any info on the Giroud to Chelsea rumours? Is there any truth to them wanting him?

Wouldn't mind seeing him go abroad but to Chelsea would be rubbish. I have always liked him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - yes they do want him. Dzeko was the preferred choice but he is not happy about leaving Rome so Giroud is the option.}
