Arsenal are not going to offer any new bids for suarez as they (and suarez) believe that the £40,000, 001 bid is enough for the release clause. Liverpool believe that they only have to inform him of the bid (seems a stupid clause to me). Remember he is banned for the first 6 games so no rush for a deal.
Once this has been resolved they will turn there attention to Lars Bender (wengers original number 1 target)
Hope these both sign
No more money no Suarez. John Henry is not a fool. Please move on to your next target. Arsene does not known how to get the job done. First Higuain and now Suarez. Who next?
Please do not rely on the 40 million clause and it does not require Liverpool to accept any offer. Suarez signed a new long term deal last year. Don't get me wrong it will suit Liverpool to sell Suarez but he is most likley to be going to Spain. If Suarez stays in the EPL then his price will be over 45 million and probably close to 50 million.
Tommy Gunn
So you read Caughtnotonside then
Why don't they turn their attention to Bender now then?
There is no rush to complete deal. but he won't look else where until he completes this deal. so basically neither arsenal an liverpool will budge on the own parts of the saurez deal. so by time wenger realises wa the rest of us see right now there will be no time to complete anyother deals. expect remy barry an one more in deadline day deals. wa was it ivan said oh yeah we want to do our business early Ppfffttt
What is wrong with Wenger? Is he on a massive bonus for not spending money because frankly the lack of activity is concerning. We only scraped 4th last season and lost ashamedly to Bradford and Blackburn in the cups - this is simply not good enough and he should be gone and get someone in who has ambition!
30 Jul 2013 21:03:32
Why have a clause if its worthless. I think it could bethe reason we are In For the player because we ain't pay 50m. Tommy gun. you like us know what you read in the newspapers. I don't think the Arsenal board are stupid, and Wenger is very bright. as long as the bale deal doesn't fall through this might happen. I more surprised than anyone regarding our interest in a player of that value. we won't have to wait long now. Km
The saurez situation is complicated because saurez and arsenal believe that 40 mill and one pound should of been enough because of a stipulation in his contract arsenal believe its a release clause liverpool believe its not can see this one dragging on for a while yet
Arsenal have no chance of getting Suarez as Liverpool unless they pay £50 million plus.
31 Jul 2013 09:29:44
Sorry my post didn't come out too well. our board are far from stupid and Tommy gun, you hope we don't have a clause. you must be a Liverpool supporter. The players agent will make arsenal aware of the stipulations in the contract. Still don't understand why we haven't brought a defensive midfielder. Wenger nominates the player, his considered value and wages he thinks they are worth. the rest is down to the men in suits. The difference is the input Dein had at the club. He wanted the player because he is Arsenal through and through. He would go the extra yard or pay a bit more. Desire. that's what's missing. Dein brought both Bergkamp and Platt for rioch. Can you see the present administration pulling off a deal like Sol. no way. this brings into question the power Wenger weilds. too much in some people's eyes. sorry tommy gun if you a gooner, didn't mean to offend. km
If this is the case, then why not offer 41m.
This will test liverpools resolve as they will know the player will go for 1m less should we qualify.

lars bender was my no. 1 wish three years ago.

I posted a reply to someone's post a few days ago about Frimpong being injured etc - sorry, I was wrong, he is back in training today.
Please let that be true. I would worry for our champions league prospects if we went into next season with our current squad
Pictures of him, Cazorla and Gerv in training today mate, it's on the Arsenal FB page so surely elsewhere too.

Just heard from an extremely reliable source close to Arsenal that Wenger will make a £76m double swoop for Liverpool pair Luis Suarez and Lucas Leiva. Around £51m of this is supposedly towards the Suarez transfer, with the other £25m for Lucas. Expeect the bid to happen in next 48 hours.
Ubistonk Gunner.
£25m for Lucas
What have you been smoking
I understand this is a rumour site, but this is utter tosh! I will honestly eat my hat if wenger was to sanction a bid of over £50mil for one player, and then hunt him down and shoot him if we bid that for Lucas!
I smell some serious BS!
Gorzi {Ed027's Note - What's wrong with Lucas? He's the type of player we need, he is no longer the flop he was made out to be years ago, I remember he use to get the stick Ramsey got last season, but he's turned it around and became one of the top holding midfielders in the league
Not even a Liverpool fan would value them at that, and they are seriously deluded.
1404
Say no to Suarez
This is more ridiculous than Malaga's rumours imo!
£25m for Lucas is ridiculous. Only worth £15m at most.
I really cannot see this happening, Wenger is not going to spend nearly £10mil more than our current record on Lucas when fellleini is available for that and genuinely a versitile, strong and tall player like we need. I smell a Trolly McTrollerson.
30 Jul 2013 16:00:31
Lucas is injury prone, why pay almost £25 million for an injury prone player?
Ed, what is wrong with Lucas? Is he the player that you believe would plug the hole in the midfield that has been apparent over a number of seasons?!
How is Lucas any better than what we already have? And for £25m?
I personally would view it as a poor transfer window if we obtained his services. I believe that for £25mil we could do better. {Ed027's Note - Lucas is a great player, he is exactly what we need, he sniffs out danger, and covers the defence well. yes he isn't worth 25m, maybe 15m is fair
I rate Lucas quite highly. He went a bit off the mark a couple of seasons ago but he's come back from some pretty serious injuries and established himself again.
Not sure if I'd pay £25m for him though. For that kind of money we could be getting someone like Fellaini.
At any rate, I can't imagine Liverpool selling two of their starting players to us.
Mike
Don't think we d pay that for Lucas but, he is one hell of a player was always wasted In liver pools style of play, but would suit us perfectly!
RD
£25m for Lucas is ridiculous. Worth £35m at least. {Ed027's Note - haha
30 jul 2013 17:33:46
nonsense! make it stop. please tell them to make it stop!! its a rumour site not bleeding jackanory for god sake!
Lucas is a decent player. I'd take him for around £20m. No more. I agree with the Ed he has really turned himself around and is a top quality holding midfielder. {Ed027's Note - I think people need to take there Arsenal tinted glasses off
I don't value Lucas at 25m, although he is a class footballer and former Brazil U21 captain. Also, I highly doubt Rodgers would part with him.
A Reds Supporter
No chance of this or any signings happening. Sadly our squad is just not deep enough to challenge this season and I think that top 4 is not realistic. Thanks Arsenal!
Malaga's on holiday in Ubistonk!
In what ****in world is lucas worth 25 mill!
30 Jul 2013 21:55:15
I think lucas would be the perfect competition for us, i'm not sure who would be in the medical room more, him or diaby but the competition to get in there first between them will be unmissable
I'd take Lieva in a flash. Top top player and in the Arsenal would really flourish. He is seriously under appreciated. And for all those people who say we haven't had a good DM since Gilberto, he fits that mould exactly. I can't see Livpool giving him up, frankly. No idea what he is worth in the crazy market of today, but one solid season with Arsenal would make his asking price 25M -:).
Just heard from a reliable source this is a bs
Yes, we will sell two of our starting players to you. That makes perfect sense.

Luis Suarez solicitors EAD Solutions taking action towards L. F. C. Maybe £40 million +£1 was enough after all!
30 Jul 2013 16:37:03
All arsenals dealings including. Cesc song RVp Carzola Nasri are dealt with through Slaughter and May. one of the finest law firms in the county. In fact one of the senior partners deals with our transactions. He is a season ticket holder of long standing. Google slaughter and may Arsenal and you will see. With all due respect to the company on this post, I doubt they will have anything to do with this deal. But I think the theme of the post is correct. no point having a 40m clause if it only inables you to talk to players agent. Liverpool could demand 200m if they wish to do so. which renders the 40m figure pointless. What do you think Ed?
It isn't a release clause though is it I thought it was if a bid over 40 mill they would have to notify saurez?
So a company who deals in the Internet Marketing industry are taking action over LFC?
Look like he up to his old tricks again if true didn't he take that club forget the name court to get his move to ajax
I think the club were Groningen or similar he lost his case but still got his desired move to ajax
EAD are a decent legal firm in Liverpool, so that stacks up. To the poster waffling on Slaughters, they are Arsenals lawyers, so would not be representing Suarez. My guess is that they would though be advising Arsenal on what they thought the clause meant, if it has been shared with us. Of course, the whole thing could be bollox. Don't you just love this time if year!

United gatecrashed Arsenal and Chelsea's gentleman's agreement. Arsenal were prepared to step back from a Rooney bid in order to acquire Mata.
However, Utd got wind of the deal and countered -only allowing Rooney to leave if Arsenal stepped aside on Cesc. A stalemate ensued, broken when Barca lost patience and publicly stated Cesc was not (read no longer) for sale. All clubs now looking to move on to other targets.
30 Jul 2013 14:11:17
Even though Cesc is staying in Spain. what's that I can smell. Oh yes. rubbish. Km
Another conspiracy theory.
I am a die hard gooner, but let's be honest, if utd or chelski bid on the same player as us, it's highly likely we will lose out- even if we are paying the same wages.
We are not as a attractive as we once were, so I doubt very much we 'scare' anyone enough that any sort of deal needs to be made.
I guess Cesc is a possible exception because of his relationship with the club, but at least in general.
Not winning anything/selling our best players, etc for the last 8 years I'm afraid, hasn't done our rep too much good.
I hope the club can start to repair that now.
30 Jul 2013 14:22:07
Absolute garbage. What fantasy world was this in?
Bournemouth Gooner
You should write for criminal minds
So it's all good now, back to plan A.
When can we expect Mata to be wearing an Arsenal shirt?
Paul
Exactly Paul- what's stopping arsenal from trying to get mata now?
Nonsense.
This is what the club is doing to some of our fans, driving them so nuts, they have to come up with some sort of explanation, however fantastical, to our lack of transfers.
Mata is probably having a medical as we speak. He is waiting to go on the running machine, once higuain, Fellaini and a whole host of others get off!
Does anyone know anything even remotely believable?!
And Titus Bramble is our new defence coach.
The more I read this the funnier it gets the most deranged comment I have ever seen. How do people come to conclusions like this its lunacy. The Gentleman's Agreement Conspiracy.
Bournemouth Gooner
Really!
"This is what the club is doing to some of our fans, driving them so nuts, they have to come up with some sort of explanation, however fantastical, to our lack of transfers. "
No mate, there are just plenty of persons in this world and some do support the same football team as you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When's Disney releasing this version of events?
Yabz
What has the club said about this-nothing, so its media driving you round the bend.
Do you honestly think Chelsea would sell their best player?
I think this was copied from someone else's blog!
Ye - when wenger let rvp go to utd last year he should have said then if rooney is put up for sale we want first option as part of the deal - but he never
30 Jul 2013 08:57:21
Eds any possibility of Marco Reus? I know Wenger tried to get him before. Keep up the great work. {Ed029's Note - No mate.}
